בָּרוּךְ֙ “ Blessed [be] bā·rūḵ יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ your God ! ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā אֲשֶׁ֤ר - ’ă·šer סִגַּר֙ He has delivered up sig·gar אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָ֣אֲנָשִׁ֔ים the men hā·’ă·nā·šîm אֲשֶׁר־ who ’ă·šer- נָשְׂא֥וּ raised nā·śə·’ū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יָדָ֖ם their hands yā·ḏām בַּֽאדֹנִ֥י against my lord ba·ḏō·nî הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ the king . ” ham·me·leḵ 2 Samuel 18:29 הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ The king ham·me·leḵ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר asked , way·yō·mer לַנַּ֖עַר “ Is the young man lan·na·‘ar לְאַבְשָׁל֑וֹם Absalom lə·’aḇ·šā·lō·wm שָׁל֥וֹם all right ? ” šā·lō·wm אֲחִימַ֡עַץ And Ahimaaz ’ă·ḥî·ma·‘aṣ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר replied , way·yō·mer יוֹאָב֙ “ When Joab yō·w·’āḇ וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- לִ֠שְׁלֹחַ sent liš·lō·aḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ the king’s ham·me·leḵ עֶ֨בֶד servant ‘e·ḇeḏ עַבְדֶּ֔ךָ and your servant , ‘aḇ·de·ḵā רָאִיתִי֩ I saw rā·’î·ṯî הַגָּד֜וֹל a great hag·gā·ḏō·wl הֶהָמ֨וֹן tumult , he·hā·mō·wn וְלֹ֥א but I do not wə·lō יָדַ֖עְתִּי know yā·ḏa‘·tî מָֽה׃ what it was . ” māh 2 Samuel 18:30 סֹ֖ב “ Move aside , ” sōḇ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר said way·yō·mer הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ the king , ham·me·leḵ הִתְיַצֵּ֣ב “ and stand hiṯ·yaṣ·ṣêḇ כֹּ֑ה here . ” kōh וַֽיַּעֲמֹֽד׃ So he stepped way·ya·‘ă·mōḏ וַיִּסֹּ֖ב aside . way·yis·sōḇ 2 Samuel 18:31 וְהִנֵּ֥ה Just then wə·hin·nêh הַכּוּשִׁ֖י the Cushite hak·kū·šî בָּ֑א came bā וַיֹּ֣אמֶר and said way·yō·mer הַכּוּשִׁ֗י . . . , hak·kū·šî אֲדֹנִ֣י “ May my lord ’ă·ḏō·nî הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ the king ham·me·leḵ כִּֽי־ . . . kî- יִתְבַּשֵּׂר֙ hear the good news : yiṯ·baś·śêr הַיּ֔וֹם Today hay·yō·wm יְהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh שְׁפָטְךָ֤ has avenged you šə·p̄ā·ṭə·ḵā מִיַּ֖ד of mî·yaḏ כָּל־ all kāl- הַקָּמִ֥ים who rose up haq·qā·mîm עָלֶֽיךָ׃ס against you ! ” ‘ā·le·ḵā 2 Samuel 18:32 הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ The king ham·me·leḵ אֶל־ . . . ’el- וַיֹּ֤אמֶר asked way·yō·mer הַכּוּשִׁ֔י the Cushite , hak·kū·šî לַנַּ֖עַר “ Is the young man lan·na·‘ar לְאַבְשָׁל֑וֹם Absalom lə·’aḇ·šā·lō·wm הֲשָׁל֥וֹם all right ? ” hă·šā·lō·wm הַכּוּשִׁ֗י And the Cushite hak·kū·šî וַיֹּ֣אמֶר replied , way·yō·mer יִהְי֤וּ “ May what has become yih·yū כַנַּ֙עַר֙ of the young man ḵan·na·‘ar אֹֽיְבֵי֙ happen to the enemies ’ō·yə·ḇê אֲדֹנִ֣י of my lord ’ă·ḏō·nî הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ the king ham·me·leḵ וְכֹ֛ל and to all wə·ḵōl אֲשֶׁר־ who ’ă·šer- קָ֥מוּ rise up qā·mū עָלֶ֖יךָ against you ‘ā·le·ḵā לְרָעָֽה׃ס to harm you . ” lə·rā·‘āh 2 Samuel 18:33 הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ The king ham·me·leḵ וַיִּרְגַּ֣ז was shaken way·yir·gaz וַיַּ֛עַל and went up way·ya·‘al עַל־ to ‘al- הַשַּׁ֖עַר the gate haš·ša·‘ar עֲלִיַּ֥ת chamber ‘ă·lî·yaṯ וַיֵּ֑בְךְּ and wept . way·yê·ḇək וְכֹ֣ה׀ And as wə·ḵōh בְּלֶכְתּ֗וֹ he walked , bə·leḵ·tōw אָמַ֣ר he cried out , ’ā·mar
