Genesis 31:29 יֶשׁ־ - yeš- לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת I have power to do la·‘ă·śō·wṯ לְאֵ֣ל . . . lə·’êl יָדִ֔י . . . yā·ḏî עִמָּכֶ֖ם you ‘im·mā·ḵem רָ֑ע great harm , rā‘ אֶ֣מֶשׁ׀ but last night ’e·meš וֵֽאלֹהֵ֨י the God wê·lō·hê אֲבִיכֶ֜ם of your father ’ă·ḇî·ḵem אָמַ֧ר said ’ā·mar אֵלַ֣י to me ’ê·lay לֵאמֹ֗ר . . . , lê·mōr הִשָּׁ֧מֶר ‘ Be careful hiš·šā·mer לְךָ֛ lə·ḵā מִדַּבֵּ֥ר not to say mid·dab·bêr עִֽם־ anything to ‘im- יַעֲקֹ֖ב Jacob , ya·‘ă·qōḇ מִטּ֥וֹב either good miṭ·ṭō·wḇ עַד־ or ‘aḏ- רָֽע׃ bad . ’ rā‘ Genesis 31:30 וְעַתָּה֙ Now wə·‘at·tāh הָלֹ֣ךְ you have gone off hā·lōḵ הָלַ֔כְתָּ . . . hā·laḵ·tā כִּֽי־ because kî- נִכְסֹ֥ף you long niḵ·sōp̄ נִכְסַ֖פְתָּה . . . niḵ·sap̄·tāh אָבִ֑יךָ for your father’s ’ā·ḇî·ḵā לְבֵ֣ית house . lə·ḇêṯ לָ֥מָּה But why lām·māh גָנַ֖בְתָּ have you stolen ḡā·naḇ·tā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֱלֹהָֽי׃ my gods ? ” ’ĕ·lō·hāy Genesis 31:31 כִּ֣י “ vvv kî יָרֵ֔אתִי I was afraid , ” yā·rê·ṯî יַעֲקֹ֖ב Jacob ya·‘ă·qōḇ וַיַּ֥עַן answered , way·ya·‘an כִּ֣י “ for kî אָמַ֔רְתִּי . . . ’ā·mar·tî פֶּן־ . . . pen- וַיֹּ֣אמֶר I thought way·yō·mer לְלָבָ֑ן [you] lə·lā·ḇān בְּנוֹתֶ֖יךָ would take your daughters bə·nō·w·ṯe·ḵā מֵעִמִּֽי׃ from me mê·‘im·mî תִּגְזֹ֥ל by force . tiḡ·zōl אֶת־ - ’eṯ- Genesis 31:32 תִּמְצָ֣א If you find tim·ṣā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֱלֹהֶיךָ֮ your gods ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā עִ֠ם with ‘im אֲשֶׁ֨ר anyone here , ’ă·šer לֹ֣א he shall not lō יִֽחְיֶה֒ live ! yiḥ·yeh נֶ֣גֶד In the presence of ne·ḡeḏ אַחֵ֧ינוּ our relatives , ’a·ḥê·nū הַֽכֶּר־ see hak·ker- לְךָ֛ for yourself lə·ḵā מָ֥ה if anything māh עִמָּדִ֖י is yours , ‘im·mā·ḏî וְקַֽח־ and take wə·qaḥ- לָ֑ךְ it back . ” lāḵ יַעֲקֹ֔ב For Jacob ya·‘ă·qōḇ וְלֹֽא־ did not wə·lō- יָדַ֣ע know yā·ḏa‘ כִּ֥י that kî רָחֵ֖ל Rachel rā·ḥêl גְּנָבָֽתַם׃ had stolen [the idols] . gə·nā·ḇā·ṯam Genesis 31:33 לָבָ֜ן So Laban lā·ḇān וַיָּבֹ֨א went way·yā·ḇō יַעֲקֹ֣ב׀ into Jacob’s ya·‘ă·qōḇ בְּאֹ֥הֶל tent , bə·’ō·hel לֵאָ֗ה then Leah’s lê·’āh וּבְאֹ֣הֶל tent , ū·ḇə·’ō·hel וּבְאֹ֛הֶל and then the tents ū·ḇə·’ō·hel שְׁתֵּ֥י of the two šə·tê הָאֲמָהֹ֖ת maidservants , hā·’ă·mā·hōṯ מָצָ֑א but he found mā·ṣā וְלֹ֣א nothing . wə·lō וַיֵּצֵא֙ Then he left way·yê·ṣê לֵאָ֔ה Leah’s lê·’āh מֵאֹ֣הֶל tent mê·’ō·hel וַיָּבֹ֖א and entered way·yā·ḇō רָחֵֽל׃ Rachel’s rā·ḥêl בְּאֹ֥הֶל tent . bə·’ō·hel Genesis 31:34 וְרָחֵ֞ל Now Rachel wə·rā·ḥêl
