Genesis 31:23 וַיִּקַּ֤ח So he took way·yiq·qaḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֶחָיו֙ his relatives ’e·ḥāw עִמּ֔וֹ with him , ‘im·mōw וַיִּרְדֹּ֣ף pursued way·yir·dōp̄ אַחֲרָ֔יו Jacob ’a·ḥă·rāw דֶּ֖רֶךְ . . . de·reḵ שִׁבְעַ֣ת for seven šiḇ·‘aṯ יָמִ֑ים days , yā·mîm וַיַּדְבֵּ֥ק and overtook way·yaḏ·bêq אֹת֖וֹ him ’ō·ṯōw בְּהַ֥ר in the hill country bə·har הַגִּלְעָֽד׃ of Gilead . hag·gil·‘āḏ Genesis 31:24 הַלָּ֑יְלָה But that night hal·lā·yə·lāh אֱלֹהִ֛ים God ’ĕ·lō·hîm וַיָּבֹ֧א came way·yā·ḇō אֶל־ to ’el- לָבָ֥ן Laban lā·ḇān הָאֲרַמִּ֖י the Aramean hā·’ă·ram·mî בַּחֲלֹ֣ם in a dream ba·ḥă·lōm וַיֹּ֣אמֶר and warned way·yō·mer ל֗וֹ him , lōw הִשָּׁ֧מֶר “ Be careful hiš·šā·mer לְךָ֛ lə·ḵā פֶּן־ not pen- תְּדַבֵּ֥ר to say tə·ḏab·bêr עִֽם־ anything to ‘im- יַעֲקֹ֖ב Jacob , ya·‘ă·qōḇ מִטּ֥וֹב either good miṭ·ṭō·wḇ עַד־ or ‘aḏ- רָֽע׃ bad . ” rā‘ Genesis 31:25 וְיַעֲקֹ֗ב Now Jacob wə·ya·‘ă·qōḇ תָּקַ֤ע had pitched tā·qa‘ אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- אָהֳלוֹ֙ his tent ’ā·ho·lōw בָּהָ֔ר in the hill country bā·hār הַגִּלְעָֽד׃ of Gilead hag·gil·‘āḏ לָבָ֖ן when Laban lā·ḇān אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- וַיַּשֵּׂ֥ג overtook way·yaś·śêḡ יַעֲקֹ֑ב [him] , ya·‘ă·qōḇ וְלָבָ֛ן and Laban wə·lā·ḇān אֶחָ֖יו and his relatives ’e·ḥāw תָּקַ֥ע camped tā·qa‘ אֶת־ . . . ’eṯ- בְּהַ֥ר [there as well] . bə·har Genesis 31:26 לָבָן֙ Then Laban lā·ḇān וַיֹּ֤אמֶר said way·yō·mer לְיַעֲקֹ֔ב to Jacob , lə·ya·‘ă·qōḇ מֶ֣ה “ What meh עָשִׂ֔יתָ have you done ? ‘ā·śî·ṯā וַתִּגְנֹ֖ב You have deceived wat·tiḡ·nōḇ אֶת־ me ’eṯ- לְבָבִ֑י . . . lə·ḇā·ḇî בְּנֹתַ֔י and carried off my daughters bə·nō·ṯay וַתְּנַהֵג֙ . . . wat·tə·na·hêḡ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- כִּשְׁבֻי֖וֹת like captives kiš·ḇu·yō·wṯ חָֽרֶב׃ of war ! ḥā·reḇ Genesis 31:27 לָ֤מָּה Why lām·māh לִבְרֹ֔חַ did you run away liḇ·rō·aḥ נַחְבֵּ֙אתָ֙ secretly naḥ·bê·ṯā וַתִּגְנֹ֖ב and deceive wat·tiḡ·nōḇ אֹתִ֑י me , ’ō·ṯî וְלֹא־ without even wə·lō- הִגַּ֣דְתָּ telling hig·gaḏ·tā לִּ֔י me ? lî וָֽאֲשַׁלֵּחֲךָ֛ I would have sent you away wā·’ă·šal·lê·ḥă·ḵā בְּשִׂמְחָ֥ה with joy bə·śim·ḥāh וּבְשִׁרִ֖ים and singing , ū·ḇə·ši·rîm בְּתֹ֥ף with tambourines bə·ṯōp̄ וּבְכִנּֽוֹר׃ and harps . ū·ḇə·ḵin·nō·wr Genesis 31:28 וְלֹ֣א But you did not wə·lō נְטַשְׁתַּ֔נִי even let me nə·ṭaš·ta·nî לְנַשֵּׁ֥ק kiss lə·naš·šêq לְבָנַ֖י my grandchildren lə·ḇā·nay וְלִבְנֹתָ֑י and my daughters { goodbye } . wə·liḇ·nō·ṯāy עַתָּ֖ה Now ‘at·tāh עֲשֽׂוֹ׃ you have done ‘ă·śōw הִסְכַּ֥לְתָּֽ a foolish thing . his·kal·tā
