בָּ֜אתִי I have come bā·ṯî לְדַבֵּ֨ר to present lə·ḏab·bêr הַזֶּ֔ה this haz·zeh הַדָּבָ֣ר matter had·dā·ḇār אֶל־ to ’el- אֲדֹנִי֙ my lord ’ă·ḏō·nî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ the king ham·me·leḵ כִּ֥י because kî הָעָ֑ם the people hā·‘ām יֵֽרְאֻ֖נִי have made me afraid . yê·rə·’u·nî שִׁפְחָֽתְךָ֙ Your servant šip̄·ḥā·ṯə·ḵā וַתֹּ֤אמֶר thought , wat·tō·mer אֲדַבְּרָה־ ‘ I will speak ’ă·ḏab·bə·rāh- נָּ֣א . . . nā אֶל־ to ’el- הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ the king . ham·me·leḵ אוּלַ֛י Perhaps ’ū·lay הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ [he] ham·me·leḵ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יַעֲשֶׂ֥ה will grant ya·‘ă·śeh דְּבַ֥ר the request də·ḇar אֲמָתֽוֹ׃ of his maidservant . ’ă·mā·ṯōw 2 Samuel 14:16 כִּ֚י For kî הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ the king ham·me·leḵ יִשְׁמַ֣ע will hear yiš·ma‘ לְהַצִּ֥יל and deliver lə·haṣ·ṣîl אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֲמָת֖וֹ his maidservant ’ă·mā·ṯōw מִכַּ֣ף from the hand mik·kap̄ הָאִ֑ישׁ of the man hā·’îš לְהַשְׁמִ֨יד [who would] cut off lə·haš·mîḏ יַ֔חַד both ya·ḥaḏ אֹתִ֤י me ’ō·ṯî וְאֶת־ and wə·’eṯ- בְּנִי֙ my son bə·nî אֱלֹהִֽים׃ from God’s ’ĕ·lō·hîm מִֽנַּחֲלַ֖ת inheritance . ’ min·na·ḥă·laṯ 2 Samuel 14:17 שִׁפְחָ֣תְךָ֔ And now your servant šip̄·ḥā·ṯə·ḵā נָּ֛א . . . nā וַתֹּ֙אמֶר֙ says , wat·tō·mer יִֽהְיֶה־ ‘ May yih·yeh- דְּבַר־ the word də·ḇar- אֲדֹנִ֥י of my lord ’ă·ḏō·nî הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ the king ham·me·leḵ לִמְנוּחָ֑ה bring me rest , lim·nū·ḥāh כִּ֣י׀ for kî אֲדֹנִ֤י my lord ’ă·ḏō·nî הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ the king ham·me·leḵ לִשְׁמֹ֙עַ֙ is able to discern liš·mō·a‘ הַטּ֣וֹב good haṭ·ṭō·wḇ וְהָרָ֔ע and evil , wə·hā·rā‘ כְּמַלְאַ֣ךְ just like the angel kə·mal·’aḵ הָאֱלֹהִ֗ים of God . hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm כֵּ֣ן . . . kên וַֽיהוָ֥ה May YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ your God ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā יְהִ֥י be yə·hî עִמָּֽךְ׃פ with you . ’” ‘im·māḵ 2 Samuel 14:18 הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ Then the king ham·me·leḵ וַיַּ֣עַן said way·ya·‘an וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- הָ֣אִשָּׁ֔ה the woman , hā·’iš·šāh אָנֹכִ֖י “ I am ’ā·nō·ḵî שֹׁאֵ֣ל going to ask šō·’êl אֹתָ֑ךְ you ’ō·ṯāḵ דָּבָ֔ר something ; dā·ḇār אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer אַל־ do not ’al- נָ֨א . . . nā תְכַחֲדִ֤י conceal ṯə·ḵa·ḥă·ḏî מִמֶּ֙נִּי֙ it from me ! ” mim·men·nî אֲדֹנִ֥י “ Let my lord ’ă·ḏō·nî הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ the king ham·me·leḵ יְדַבֶּר־ speak , ” yə·ḏab·ber- נָ֖א . . . nā הָֽאִשָּׁ֔ה she hā·’iš·šāh וַתֹּ֙אמֶר֙ replied . wat·tō·mer 2 Samuel 14:19 הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ So the king ham·me·leḵ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר asked , way·yō·mer הֲיַ֥ד “ Is the hand hă·yaḏ יוֹאָ֛ב of Joab yō·w·’āḇ אִתָּ֖ךְ behind ’it·tāḵ בְּכָל־ all bə·ḵāl זֹ֑את this ? ” zōṯ הָאִשָּׁ֣ה The woman hā·’iš·šāh וַתֹּ֡אמֶר . . . wat·tō·mer
