לָּ֑ךְtroubles you ? ”lāḵ
הַמֶּ֖לֶךְthe kingham·me·leḵ
וַיֹּֽאמֶר־askedway·yō·mer-
לָ֥הּher .lāh
אֲבָ֛ל “ Indeed , ” ’ă·ḇāl
וַתֹּ֗אמֶר she said , wat·tō·mer
אָ֖נִי“ I [am]’ā·nî
אִשָּֽׁה־vvv’iš·šāh-
אַלְמָנָ֥ה a widow , ’al·mā·nāh
אִישִֽׁי׃for my husband’î·šî
וַיָּ֥מָתis dead .way·yā·māṯ
2 Samuel 14:6וּלְשִׁפְחָֽתְךָ֙And your maidservantū·lə·šip̄·ḥā·ṯə·ḵā
שְׁנֵ֣יhad twošə·nê
בָנִ֔יםsonsḇā·nîm
שְׁנֵיהֶם֙[who]šə·nê·hem
וַיִּנָּצ֤וּwere fightingway·yin·nā·ṣū
בַּשָּׂדֶ֔הin the fieldbaś·śā·ḏeh
וְאֵ֥יןwith nowə·’ên
מַצִּ֖ילone to separatemaṣ·ṣîl
בֵּֽינֵיהֶ֑ם them , bê·nê·hem
הָאֶחָ֛דand onehā·’e·ḥāḏ
אֶת־-’eṯ-
וַיַּכּ֧וֹstruckway·yak·kōw
הָאֶחָ֖דthe otherhā·’e·ḥāḏ
וַיָּ֥מֶתand killedway·yā·meṯ
אֹתֽוֹ׃him .’ō·ṯōw
2 Samuel 14:7וְהִנֵּה֩Nowwə·hin·nêh
כָֽל־the wholeḵāl
הַמִּשְׁפָּחָ֜הclanham·miš·pā·ḥāh
קָ֨מָהhas risen upqā·māh
עַל־against‘al-
שִׁפְחָתֶ֗ךָyour maidservantšip̄·ḥā·ṯe·ḵā
וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ and said , way·yō·mə·rū
תְּנִ֣י׀‘ Hand overtə·nî
אֶת־-’eṯ-
מַכֵּ֣הthe one who struck downmak·kêh
אָחִ֗יו his brother , ’ā·ḥîw
וּנְמִתֵ֙הוּ֙that we may put him to deathū·nə·mi·ṯê·hū
בְּנֶ֤פֶשׁfor the lifebə·ne·p̄eš
אָחִיו֙of the brother’ā·ḥîw
אֲשֶׁ֣רwhom’ă·šer
הָרָ֔גhe killed .hā·rāḡ
וְנַשְׁמִ֖ידָהThen we will cut offwə·naš·mî·ḏāh
אֶת־-’eṯ-
הַיּוֹרֵ֑שׁthe heirhay·yō·w·rêš
גַּ֣םas well ! ’gam
וְכִבּ֗וּSo they would extinguishwə·ḵib·bū
אֶת־-’eṯ-
נִשְׁאָ֔רָהmy one remainingniš·’ā·rāh
גַּֽחַלְתִּי֙emberga·ḥal·tî
אֲשֶׁ֣ר-’ă·šer
לְבִלְתִּ֧יby notlə·ḇil·tî
שׂוּםpreservingśūm
לְאִישִׁ֛יmy husband’slə·’î·šî
שֵׁ֥םnamešêm
וּשְׁאֵרִ֖יתor posterityū·šə·’ê·rîṯ
עַל־on‘al-
פְּנֵ֥י. . .pə·nê
הָאֲדָמָֽה׃פthe earth . ”hā·’ă·ḏā·māh

לְבֵיתֵ֑ךְ home , ” lə·ḇê·ṯêḵ
הַמֶּ֛לֶךְthe kingham·me·leḵ
וַיֹּ֧אמֶרsaidway·yō·mer
אֶל־to’el-
הָאִשָּׁ֖ה the woman , hā·’iš·šāh
וַאֲנִ֖י“ and Iwa·’ă·nî
אֲצַוֶּ֥הwill give orders’ă·ṣaw·weh
עָלָֽיִךְ׃on your behalf . ”‘ā·lā·yiḵ

הַתְּקוֹעִית֙of Tekoahat·tə·qō·w·‘îṯ
וַתֹּ֜אמֶרsaidwat·tō·mer
אֶל־to’el-
הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ the king , ham·me·leḵ
אֲדֹנִ֥י“ My lord’ă·ḏō·nî
הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ the king , ham·me·leḵ
הֶעָוֺ֖ןmay any blame behe·‘ā·wōn
עָלַ֞יon me‘ā·lay
וְעַל־and onwə·‘al-
אָבִ֑יmy father’s’ā·ḇî
בֵּ֣ית house , bêṯ
וְהַמֶּ֥לֶךְand may the kingwə·ham·me·leḵ
וְכִסְא֖וֹand his thronewə·ḵis·’ōw
נָקִֽי׃ס[be] guiltless . ”nā·qî
