הַחֲזֵ֨ק Strengthen ha·ḥă·zêq מִלְחַמְתְּךָ֧ your attack mil·ḥam·tə·ḵā אֶל־ against ’el- הָעִ֛יר the city hā·‘îr וְהָרְסָ֖הּ and demolish it . ’ wə·hā·rə·sāh וְחַזְּקֵֽהוּ׃ Encourage him [with these words] . ” wə·ḥaz·zə·qê·hū 2 Samuel 11:26 אֽוּרִיָּ֔ה When Uriah’s ’ū·rî·yāh אֵ֣שֶׁת wife ’ê·šeṯ וַתִּשְׁמַע֙ heard wat·tiš·ma‘ כִּי־ that kî- אִישָׁ֑הּ her husband ’î·šāh אוּרִיָּ֣ה - ’ū·rî·yāh מֵ֖ת was dead , mêṯ וַתִּסְפֹּ֖ד she mourned wat·tis·pōḏ עַל־ for ‘al- בַּעְלָֽהּ׃ him . ba‘·lāh 2 Samuel 11:27 הָאֵ֗בֶל And when the [time of] mourning hā·’ê·ḇel וַיִּשְׁלַ֨ח . . . way·yiš·laḥ וַיַּעֲבֹ֣ר was over , way·ya·‘ă·ḇōr דָּוִ֜ד David dā·wiḏ וַיַּאַסְפָ֤הּ had her brought way·ya·’as·p̄āh אֶל־ to ’el- בֵּיתוֹ֙ his house , bê·ṯōw וַתְּהִי־ and she became wat·tə·hî- ל֣וֹ his lōw לְאִשָּׁ֔ה wife lə·’iš·šāh וַתֵּ֥לֶד and bore wat·tê·leḏ ל֖וֹ him lōw בֵּ֑ן a son . bên הַדָּבָ֛ר But the thing had·dā·ḇār אֲשֶׁר־ that ’ă·šer- דָוִ֖ד David ḏā·wiḏ עָשָׂ֥ה had done ‘ā·śāh וַיֵּ֧רַע was evil way·yê·ra‘ בְּעֵינֵ֥י in the sight bə·‘ê·nê יְהוָֽה׃פ of YHWH . Yah·weh 2 Samuel 12:1 יְהוָ֛ה Then YHWH Yah·weh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּשְׁלַ֧ח sent way·yiš·laḥ נָתָ֖ן Nathan nā·ṯān אֶל־ to ’el- דָּוִ֑ד David , dā·wiḏ וַיָּבֹ֣א and when he arrived way·yā·ḇō אֵלָ֗יו . . . , ’ê·lāw וַיֹּ֤אמֶר he said way·yō·mer לוֹ֙ - , lōw הָיוּ֙ “ There were hā·yū שְׁנֵ֣י two šə·nê אֲנָשִׁ֗ים men ’ă·nā·šîm אֶחָ֔ת in a certain ’e·ḥāṯ בְּעִ֣יר city , bə·‘îr אֶחָ֥ד one ’e·ḥāḏ עָשִׁ֖יר rich ‘ā·šîr וְאֶחָ֥ד and the other wə·’e·ḥāḏ רָֽאשׁ׃ poor . rāš 2 Samuel 12:2 לְעָשִׁ֗יר The rich lə·‘ā·šîr הָיָ֛ה man had hā·yāh הַרְבֵּ֥ה a great number of har·bêh מְאֹֽד׃ . . . mə·’ōḏ צֹ֥אן sheep ṣōn וּבָקָ֖ר and cattle , ū·ḇā·qār 2 Samuel 12:3 וְלָרָ֣שׁ but the poor wə·lā·rāš אֵֽין־ man had nothing ’ên- כֹּ֗ל . . . kōl כִּי֩ except kî אִם־ . . . ’im- אַחַ֤ת one ’a·ḥaṯ קְטַנָּה֙ small qə·ṭan·nāh כִּבְשָׂ֨ה ewe lamb kiḇ·śāh אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ’ă·šer קָנָ֔ה he had bought . qā·nāh וַיְחַיֶּ֕הָ He raised it , way·ḥay·ye·hā וַתִּגְדַּ֥ל and it grew up wat·tiḡ·dal עִמּ֛וֹ with him ‘im·mōw וְעִם־ . . . wə·‘im- בָּנָ֖יו and his children . bā·nāw יַחְדָּ֑ו It shared yaḥ·dāw תֹאכַ֜ל . . . ṯō·ḵal מִפִּתּ֨וֹ his food mip·pit·tōw תִשְׁתֶּה֙ and drank ṯiš·teh וּמִכֹּס֤וֹ from his cup ; ū·mik·kō·sōw תִשְׁכָּ֔ב it slept ṯiš·kāḇ וּבְחֵיק֣וֹ in his arms ū·ḇə·ḥê·qōw וַתְּהִי־ and was wat·tə·hî- כְּבַֽת׃ like a daughter kə·ḇaṯ
