אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּקַּ֣ח recovered way·yiq·qaḥ כָּל־ all kāl- הַצֹּ֖אן the flocks haṣ·ṣōn וְהַבָּקָ֑ר and herds , wə·hab·bā·qār נָהֲג֗וּ which his men drove nā·hă·ḡū לִפְנֵי֙ ahead of lip̄·nê הַמִּקְנֶ֣ה the other livestock , ham·miq·neh הַה֔וּא . . . ha·hū וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ calling out , way·yō·mə·rū זֶ֖ה “ This zeh דָּוִֽד׃ is David’s dā·wiḏ שְׁלַ֥ל plunder !” šə·lal 1 Samuel 30:21 דָוִ֗ד When David ḏā·wiḏ וַיָּבֹ֣א came way·yā·ḇō אֶל־ to ’el- מָאתַ֨יִם the two hundred mā·ṯa·yim הָאֲנָשִׁ֜ים men hā·’ă·nā·šîm אֲשֶֽׁר־ who ’ă·šer- פִּגְּר֣וּ׀ had been too exhausted pig·gə·rū מִלֶּ֣כֶת׀ to follow mil·le·ḵeṯ אַחֲרֵ֣י - ’a·ḥă·rê דָוִ֗ד him ḏā·wiḏ וַיֹּֽשִׁיבֻם֙ vvv way·yō·šî·ḇum בְּנַ֣חַל from the Brook bə·na·ḥal הַבְּשׂ֔וֹר of Besor , hab·bə·śō·wr וַיֵּֽצְאוּ֙ they came out way·yê·ṣə·’ū לִקְרַ֣את to meet liq·raṯ דָּוִ֔ד him dā·wiḏ וְלִקְרַ֖את [and] wə·liq·raṯ הָעָ֣ם the troops hā·‘ām אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- אִתּ֑וֹ with him . ’it·tōw דָּוִד֙ As David dā·wiḏ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּגַּ֤שׁ approached way·yig·gaš הָעָ֔ם the men , hā·‘ām וַיִּשְׁאַ֥ל he greeted them way·yiš·’al לָהֶ֖ם . . . lā·hem לְשָׁלֽוֹם׃ס . . . , lə·šā·lō·wm 1 Samuel 30:22 וַיַּ֜עַן but way·ya·‘an כָּל־ all kāl- רָ֣ע the wicked rā‘ וּבְלִיַּ֗עַל and worthless ū·ḇə·lî·ya·‘al אִֽישׁ־ men ’îš- מֵֽהָאֲנָשִׁים֮ among those mê·hā·’ă·nā·šîm אֲשֶׁ֣ר who ’ă·šer הָלְכ֣וּ had gone hā·lə·ḵū עִם־ with ‘im- דָּוִד֒ David dā·wiḏ וַיֹּאמְר֗וּ said , way·yō·mə·rū יַ֚עַן “ Because ya·‘an אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer לֹֽא־ they did not lō- הָלְכ֣וּ go hā·lə·ḵū עִמִּ֔י with us , ‘im·mî לֹֽא־ we will not lō- נִתֵּ֣ן share with them nit·tên לָהֶ֔ם lā·hem מֵהַשָּׁלָ֖ל the plunder mê·haš·šā·lāl אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer הִצַּ֑לְנוּ we recovered , hiṣ·ṣal·nū כִּֽי־ except kî- אִם־ . . . ’im- אִ֤ישׁ for each ’îš אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אִשְׁתּוֹ֙ man’s wife ’iš·tōw וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- בָּנָ֔יו and children . bā·nāw וְיִנְהֲג֖וּ They may take them wə·yin·hă·ḡū וְיֵלֵֽכוּ׃ס and go .” wə·yê·lê·ḵū 1 Samuel 30:23 דָּוִ֔ד But David dā·wiḏ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר said , way·yō·mer אֶחָ֑י “ My brothers , ’e·ḥāy אֵ֠ת - ’êṯ לֹֽא־ you must not lō- תַעֲשׂ֥וּ do ṯa·‘ă·śū כֵ֖ן this ḵên אֲשֶׁר־ with what ’ă·šer- יְהוָ֥ה YHWH Yah·weh נָתַ֨ן has given nā·ṯan לָ֙נוּ֙ us . lā·nū וַיִּשְׁמֹ֣ר He has protected way·yiš·mōr אֹתָ֔נוּ us ’ō·ṯā·nū וַיִּתֵּ֗ן and delivered way·yit·tên אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- בְּיָדֵֽנוּ׃ into our hands bə·yā·ḏê·nū הַגְּד֛וּד the raiders hag·gə·ḏūḏ הַבָּ֥א who came hab·bā עָלֵ֖ינוּ against us . ‘ā·lê·nū
