הִשָּׁבְעָה֩ “ Swear hiš·šā·ḇə·‘āh לִּ֨י to me lî בֵֽאלֹהִ֜ים by God ḇê·lō·hîm אִם־ that you will not ’im- תְּמִיתֵ֗נִי kill me tə·mî·ṯê·nî וְאִם־ [or] wə·’im- תַּסְגִּרֵ֙נִי֙ deliver me tas·gi·rê·nî בְּיַד־ into the hand bə·yaḏ- אֲדֹנִ֔י of my master , ’ă·ḏō·nî וְאוֹרִֽדְךָ֖ and I will lead you wə·’ō·w·riḏ·ḵā אֶל־ to ’el- הַגְּד֥וּד [them] hag·gə·ḏūḏ הַזֶּֽה׃ . . . .” haz·zeh 1 Samuel 30:16 וַיֹּ֣רִדֵ֔הוּ So he led [David] down , way·yō·ri·ḏê·hū וְהִנֵּ֥ה and there were the Amalekites wə·hin·nêh נְטֻשִׁ֖ים spread out nə·ṭu·šîm עַל־ over ‘al- פְּנֵ֣י . . . pə·nê כָל־ all ḵāl הָאָ֑רֶץ the land , hā·’ā·reṣ אֹכְלִ֤ים eating , ’ō·ḵə·lîm וְשֹׁתִים֙ drinking , wə·šō·ṯîm וְחֹ֣גְגִ֔ים and celebrating wə·ḥō·ḡə·ḡîm בְּכֹל֙ . . . bə·ḵōl הַגָּד֔וֹל the great hag·gā·ḏō·wl אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer הַשָּׁלָ֣ל amount of plunder haš·šā·lāl לָקְח֛וּ they had taken lā·qə·ḥū מֵאֶ֥רֶץ from the land mê·’e·reṣ פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים of the Philistines pə·liš·tîm וּמֵאֶ֥רֶץ and the land ū·mê·’e·reṣ יְהוּדָֽה׃ of Judah . yə·hū·ḏāh 1 Samuel 30:17 דָּוִ֛ד And David dā·wiḏ וַיַּכֵּ֥ם struck them down way·yak·kêm מֵהַנֶּ֥שֶׁף from twilight mê·han·ne·šep̄ וְעַד־ until wə·‘aḏ- הָעֶ֖רֶב the evening hā·‘e·reḇ לְמָֽחֳרָתָ֑ם of the next day . lə·mā·ḥo·rā·ṯām וְלֹֽא־ Not wə·lō- אִ֔ישׁ a man ’îš נִמְלַ֤ט escaped , nim·laṭ מֵהֶם֙ . . . mê·hem כִּי֩ except kî אִם־ . . . ’im- אַרְבַּ֨ע four ’ar·ba‘ מֵא֧וֹת hundred mê·’ō·wṯ נַ֛עַר young na·‘ar אִֽישׁ־ men ’îš- אֲשֶׁר־ who ’ă·šer- וַיָּנֻֽסוּ׃ fled , way·yā·nu·sū רָכְב֥וּ riding off rā·ḵə·ḇū עַל־ on ‘al- הַגְּמַלִּ֖ים camels . hag·gə·mal·lîm 1 Samuel 30:18 דָּוִ֔ד So David dā·wiḏ אֵ֛ת - ’êṯ וַיַּצֵּ֣ל recovered way·yaṣ·ṣêl כָּל־ everything kāl- אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer עֲמָלֵ֑ק the Amalekites ‘ă·mā·lêq וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- לָקְח֖וּ had taken , lā·qə·ḥū דָּוִֽד׃ [including] dā·wiḏ הִצִּ֥יל . . . hiṣ·ṣîl שְׁתֵּ֥י his two šə·tê נָשָׁ֖יו wives . nā·šāw 1 Samuel 30:19 וְלֹ֣א Nothing wə·lō נֶעְדַּר־ was missing ne‘·dar- לָ֠הֶם - , lā·hem מִן־ - min- הַקָּטֹ֨ן young haq·qā·ṭōn וְעַד־ or wə·‘aḏ- הַגָּד֜וֹל old , hag·gā·ḏō·wl וְעַד־ . . . wə·‘aḏ- בָּנִ֤ים son bā·nîm וּבָנוֹת֙ or daughter , ū·ḇā·nō·wṯ כָּל־ or any kāl- אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer וּמִשָּׁלָ֔ל of the plunder ū·miš·šā·lāl וְעַ֛ד . . . wə·‘aḏ לָקְח֖וּ the Amalekites had taken lā·qə·ḥū לָהֶ֑ם - . lā·hem דָּוִֽד׃ David dā·wiḏ הַכֹּ֖ל brought everything hak·kōl הֵשִׁ֥יב back . hê·šîḇ 1 Samuel 30:20 דָּוִ֔ד And he dā·wiḏ
