1 Samuel 26:25 שָׁא֜וּל Saul šā·’ūl וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- דָּוִ֗ד him , dā·wiḏ אַתָּה֙ “ [May] you ’at·tāh בָּר֤וּךְ [be] blessed , bā·rūḵ דָוִ֔ד David ḏā·wiḏ בְּנִ֣י my son . bə·nî גַּ֚ם You will gam תַעֲשֶׂ֔ה accomplish ṯa·‘ă·śeh עָשֹׂ֣ה great things ‘ā·śōh וְגַ֖ם and wə·ḡam יָכֹ֣ל will surely prevail yā·ḵōl תּוּכָ֑ל . . . .” tū·ḵāl דָּוִד֙ So David dā·wiḏ וַיֵּ֤לֶךְ went way·yê·leḵ לְדַרְכּ֔וֹ on his way , lə·ḏar·kōw וְשָׁא֖וּל and Saul wə·šā·’ūl שָׁ֥ב returned šāḇ לִמְקוֹמֽוֹ׃פ home . lim·qō·w·mōw 1 Samuel 27:1 דָּוִד֙ David, however , dā·wiḏ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- לִבּ֔וֹ himself , lib·bōw אֶחָ֖ד “ One ’e·ḥāḏ יוֹם־ of these days yō·wm- עַתָּ֛ה now ‘at·tāh אֶסָּפֶ֥ה I will be swept away ’es·sā·p̄eh בְּיַד־ by the hand bə·yaḏ- שָׁא֑וּל of Saul . šā·’ūl אֵֽין־ There is nothing ’ên- ט֜וֹב better ṭō·wḇ לִ֨י for me lî כִּ֣י than kî הִמָּלֵ֥ט to escape him·mā·lêṭ אִמָּלֵ֣ט׀ . . . ’im·mā·lêṭ אֶל־ to ’el- אֶ֣רֶץ the land ’e·reṣ פְּלִשְׁתִּ֗ים of the Philistines . pə·liš·tîm שָׁאוּל֙ Then Saul šā·’ūl וְנוֹאַ֨שׁ will stop wə·nō·w·’aš לְבַקְשֵׁ֤נִי searching lə·ḇaq·šê·nî מִמֶּ֤נִּי for me mim·men·nî עוֹד֙ . . . ‘ō·wḏ בְּכָל־ all over bə·ḵāl גְּב֣וּל . . . gə·ḇūl יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל Israel , yiś·rā·’êl וְנִמְלַטְתִּ֖י and I will slip wə·nim·laṭ·tî מִיָּדֽוֹ׃ out of his hand .” mî·yā·ḏōw 1 Samuel 27:2 דָּוִ֔ד So David dā·wiḏ וַיָּ֣קָם set out way·yā·qām עִמּ֑וֹ with ‘im·mōw וְשֵׁשׁ־ his six wə·šêš- מֵא֥וֹת hundred mê·’ō·wṯ אִ֖ישׁ men ’îš אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer וַיַּעֲבֹ֣ר and went way·ya·‘ă·ḇōr ה֔וּא . . . hū אֶל־ to ’el- אָכִ֥ישׁ Achish ’ā·ḵîš בֶּן־ son ben- מָע֖וֹךְ of Maoch , mā·‘ō·wḵ מֶ֥לֶךְ the king me·leḵ גַּֽת׃ of Gath . gaṯ 1 Samuel 27:3 דָּוִ֨ד David dā·wiḏ וַאֲנָשָׁ֖יו and his men wa·’ă·nā·šāw וַיֵּשֶׁב֩ settled way·yê·šeḇ בְּגַ֛ת in Gath bə·ḡaṯ עִם־ with ‘im- אָכִ֥ישׁ Achish ’ā·ḵîš ה֥וּא . . . . hū אִ֣ישׁ Each man ’îš וּבֵית֑וֹ had his family with him , ū·ḇê·ṯōw דָּוִד֙ and David dā·wiḏ וּשְׁתֵּ֣י had his two ū·šə·tê נָשָׁ֔יו wives : nā·šāw אֲחִינֹ֙עַם֙ Ahinoam ’ă·ḥî·nō·‘am הַיִּזְרְעֵאלִ֔ית of Jezreel hay·yiz·rə·‘ê·lîṯ וַאֲבִיגַ֥יִל and Abigail wa·’ă·ḇî·ḡa·yil הַֽכַּרְמְלִֽית׃ of Carmel , hak·kar·mə·lîṯ אֵֽשֶׁת־ the widow ’ê·šeṯ- נָבָ֖ל of Nabal . nā·ḇāl 1 Samuel 27:4 לְשָׁא֔וּל And when Saul lə·šā·’ūl וַיֻּגַּ֣ד learned way·yug·gaḏ כִּֽי־ that kî- דָּוִ֖ד David dā·wiḏ
