אַתָּ֖ה have you ’at·tāh וּבֶן־ and the son ū·ḇen- יִשָׁ֑י of Jesse yi·šāy קְשַׁרְתֶּ֣ם conspired qə·šar·tem עָלַ֔י against me ? ‘ā·lay בְּתִתְּךָ֨ You gave bə·ṯit·tə·ḵā ל֜וֹ him lōw לֶ֣חֶם bread le·ḥem וְחֶ֗רֶב and a sword wə·ḥe·reḇ וְשָׁא֥וֹל and inquired wə·šā·’ō·wl בֵּֽאלֹהִ֔ים of God bê·lō·hîm לוֹ֙ for him lōw לָק֥וּם so that he could rise up lā·qūm אֵלַ֛י against me ’ê·lay לְאֹרֵ֖ב to lie in wait , lə·’ō·rêḇ כַּיּ֥וֹם as he is doing today kay·yō·wm הַזֶּֽה׃ס . . . . ” haz·zeh 1 Samuel 22:14 אֲחִימֶ֛לֶךְ Ahimelech ’ă·ḥî·me·leḵ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיַּ֧עַן answered way·ya·‘an הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ the king ham·me·leḵ וַיֹּאמַ֑ר . . . , way·yō·mar וּמִ֤י “ Who ū·mî בְכָל־ among all ḇə·ḵāl- עֲבָדֶ֙יךָ֙ your servants ‘ă·ḇā·ḏe·ḵā נֶאֱמָ֔ן is as faithful ne·’ĕ·mān כְּדָוִ֣ד as David , kə·ḏā·wiḏ הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ the king’s ham·me·leḵ וַחֲתַ֥ן son-in-law , wa·ḥă·ṯan וְסָ֥ר the captain wə·sār אֶל־ of ’el- מִשְׁמַעְתֶּ֖ךָ your bodyguard miš·ma‘·te·ḵā וְנִכְבָּ֥ד [who is] honored wə·niḵ·bāḏ בְּבֵיתֶֽךָ׃ in your house ? bə·ḇê·ṯe·ḵā 1 Samuel 22:15 הַיּ֧וֹם Was that day hay·yō·wm הַחִלֹּ֛תִי the first ha·ḥil·lō·ṯî לְשָׁאוֹל time I inquired lə·šå̄·ʾōl בֵאלֹהִ֖ים of God ḇê·lō·hîm ל֥וֹ for him ? lōw חָלִ֣ילָה Far be it ḥā·lî·lāh לִּ֑י from me ! lî אַל־ Let not ’al- הַמֶּ֨לֶךְ the king ham·me·leḵ יָשֵׂם֩ accuse yā·śêm דָבָר֙ . . . ḏā·ḇār בְּעַבְדּ֤וֹ your servant bə·‘aḇ·dōw בְּכָל־ or any bə·ḵāl אָבִ֔י of my father’s ’ā·ḇî בֵּ֣ית household , bêṯ כִּ֠י for kî עַבְדְּךָ֙ your servant ‘aḇ·də·ḵā יָדַ֤ע knew yā·ḏa‘ לֹֽא־ nothing lō- זֹ֔את of this zōṯ בְּכָל־ whole bə·ḵāl דָּבָ֥ר affair — dā·ḇār קָטֹ֖ן not in part qā·ṭōn א֥וֹ or ’ōw גָדֽוֹל׃ in whole .” ḡā·ḏō·wl 1 Samuel 22:16 הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ But the king ham·me·leḵ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר replied , way·yō·mer מ֥וֹת “ You will surely die mō·wṯ תָּמ֖וּת . . . , tā·mūṯ אֲחִימֶ֑לֶךְ Ahimelech , ’ă·ḥî·me·leḵ אַתָּ֖ה you ’at·tāh וְכָל־ and all wə·ḵāl אָבִֽיךָ׃ your father’s ’ā·ḇî·ḵā בֵּ֥ית house !” bêṯ 1 Samuel 22:17 הַמֶּ֡לֶךְ Then the king ham·me·leḵ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ordered way·yō·mer לָרָצִים֩ the guards lā·rā·ṣîm הַנִּצָּבִ֨ים at his side han·niṣ·ṣā·ḇîm עָלָ֜יו . . . , ‘ā·lāw סֹ֥בּוּ “ Turn sōb·bū וְהָמִ֣יתוּ׀ and kill wə·hā·mî·ṯū כֹּהֲנֵ֣י the priests kō·hă·nê יְהוָ֗ה of YHWH , Yah·weh כִּ֤י because kî גַם־ they too ḡam- יָדָם֙ vvv yā·ḏām עִם־ sided with ‘im- דָּוִ֔ד David . dā·wiḏ וְכִ֤י For wə·ḵî יָֽדְעוּ֙ they knew yā·ḏə·‘ū כִּֽי־ . . . kî- ה֔וּא he hū בֹרֵ֣חַ was fleeing , ḇō·rê·aḥ וְלֹ֥א but they did not wə·lō
