גָל֖וּ tell ḡā·lū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אָזְנוֹ me .” ʾå̄·zə·nō הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ But the king’s ham·me·leḵ עַבְדֵ֤י servants ‘aḇ·ḏê אָב֞וּ would ’ā·ḇū וְלֹֽא־ not wə·lō- לִשְׁלֹ֣חַ lift liš·lō·aḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יָדָ֔ם a hand yā·ḏām לִפְגֹ֖עַ to strike lip̄·ḡō·a‘ בְּכֹהֲנֵ֥י the priests bə·ḵō·hă·nê יְהוָֽה׃ס of YHWH . Yah·weh 1 Samuel 22:18 הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ So the king ham·me·leḵ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר ordered way·yō·mer לְדוֹיֵג Doeg , lə·ḏō·yēḡ אַתָּ֔ה “ You ’at·tāh סֹ֣ב turn sōḇ וּפְגַ֖ע and strike down ū·p̄ə·ḡa‘ בַּכֹּהֲנִ֑ים the priests ! ” bak·kō·hă·nîm דּוֹיֵג And Doeg dō·yēḡ הָאֲדֹמִ֗י the Edomite hā·’ă·ḏō·mî וַיִּסֹּ֞ב turned way·yis·sōḇ וַיִּפְגַּע־ and struck down way·yip̄·ga‘- בַּכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים the priests bak·kō·hă·nîm הוּא֙ himself . hū הַה֗וּא On that ha·hū בַּיּ֣וֹם day bay·yō·wm וַיָּ֣מֶת׀ he killed way·yā·meṯ שְׁמֹנִ֤ים eighty-five šə·mō·nîm וַחֲמִשָּׁה֙ . . . wa·ḥă·miš·šāh אִ֔ישׁ men ’îš נֹשֵׂ֖א who wore nō·śê בָּֽד׃ the linen bāḏ אֵפ֥וֹד ephod . ’ê·p̄ō·wḏ 1 Samuel 22:19 וְאֵ֨ת - wə·’êṯ הִכָּ֣ה He also put hik·kāh לְפִי־ vvv lə·p̄î- חֶ֔רֶב to the sword ḥe·reḇ נֹ֤ב Nob , nōḇ עִיר־ the city ‘îr- הַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙ of the priests , hak·kō·hă·nîm מֵאִישׁ֙ with its men mê·’îš וְעַד־ and wə·‘aḏ- אִשָּׁ֔ה women , ’iš·šāh מֵעוֹלֵ֖ל children mê·‘ō·w·lêl וְעַד־ and wə·‘aḏ- יוֹנֵ֑ק infants , yō·w·nêq וְשׁ֧וֹר oxen , wə·šō·wr וַחֲמ֛וֹר donkeys , wa·ḥă·mō·wr וָשֶׂ֖ה and sheep wā·śeh לְפִי־ . . . lə·p̄î- חָֽרֶב׃ . . . . ḥā·reḇ 1 Samuel 22:20 אֶחָ֗ד But one ’e·ḥāḏ בֵּן־ of the sons bên- לַאֲחִימֶ֙לֶךְ֙ of Ahimelech la·’ă·ḥî·me·leḵ בֶּן־ son ben- אֲחִט֔וּב of Ahitub ’ă·ḥi·ṭūḇ וַיִּמָּלֵ֣ט escaped . way·yim·mā·lêṭ וּשְׁמ֖וֹ His name ū·šə·mōw אֶבְיָתָ֑ר was Abiathar , ’eḇ·yā·ṯār וַיִּבְרַ֖ח and he fled way·yiḇ·raḥ אַחֲרֵ֥י to ’a·ḥă·rê דָוִֽד׃ David . ḏā·wiḏ 1 Samuel 22:21 אֶבְיָתָ֖ר And Abiathar ’eḇ·yā·ṯār וַיַּגֵּ֥ד told way·yag·gêḏ לְדָוִ֑ד David lə·ḏā·wiḏ כִּ֚י that kî שָׁא֔וּל Saul šā·’ūl אֵ֖ת - ’êṯ הָרַ֣ג had killed hā·raḡ כֹּהֲנֵ֥י the priests kō·hă·nê יְהוָֽה׃ of YHWH . Yah·weh 1 Samuel 22:22 דָּוִ֜ד Then David dā·wiḏ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said way·yō·mer לְאֶבְיָתָ֗ר to Abiathar , lə·’eḇ·yā·ṯār יָדַ֜עְתִּי “ I knew yā·ḏa‘·tî דּוֹיֵג that Doeg dō·yēḡ הָאֲדֹמִ֔י the Edomite hā·’ă·ḏō·mî כִּֽי־ . . . kî- שָׁם֙ was there šām הַהוּא֙ that ha·hū בַּיּ֤וֹם day , bay·yō·wm כִּֽי־ and that kî- הַגֵּ֥ד he was sure hag·gêḏ
