הָעֲדָרִ֑ים the sheep hā·‘ă·ḏā·rîm יַשְׁק֖וּ were watered yaš·qū מִן־ from min- הַהִ֔וא this ha·hi·w הַבְּאֵ֣ר well . hab·bə·’êr גְּדֹלָ֖ה And a large gə·ḏō·lāh וְהָאֶ֥בֶן stone wə·hā·’e·ḇen עַל־ covered ‘al- פִּ֥י the mouth pî הַבְּאֵֽר׃ of the well . hab·bə·’êr Genesis 29:3 כָל־ When all ḵāl הָעֲדָרִ֗ים the flocks hā·‘ă·ḏā·rîm וְנֶאֶסְפוּ־ had been gathered wə·ne·’es·p̄ū- שָׁ֣מָּה there , šām·māh וְגָלֲל֤וּ the shepherds would roll away wə·ḡā·lă·lū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָאֶ֙בֶן֙ the stone hā·’e·ḇen מֵעַל֙ from mê·‘al פִּ֣י the mouth pî הַבְּאֵ֔ר of the well hab·bə·’êr וְהִשְׁק֖וּ and water wə·hiš·qū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַצֹּ֑אן the sheep . haṣ·ṣōn וְהֵשִׁ֧יבוּ Then they would return wə·hê·šî·ḇū הָאֶ֛בֶן the stone hā·’e·ḇen אֶת־ - ’eṯ- לִמְקֹמָֽהּ׃ to its place lim·qō·māh עַל־ over ‘al- פִּ֥י the mouth pî הַבְּאֵ֖ר of the well . hab·bə·’êr Genesis 29:4 אַחַ֖י “ My brothers , ” ’a·ḥay יַעֲקֹ֔ב Jacob ya·‘ă·qōḇ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר asked way·yō·mer לָהֶם֙ the [shepherds] , lā·hem מֵאַ֣יִן “ where mê·’a·yin אַתֶּ֑ם are you from ? ” ’at·tem אֲנָֽחְנוּ׃ “ We are ’ă·nā·ḥə·nū מֵחָרָ֖ן from Haran , ” mê·ḥā·rān וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ they answered . way·yō·mə·rū Genesis 29:5 הַיְדַעְתֶּ֖ם “ Do you know hay·ḏa‘·tem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- לָבָ֣ן Laban lā·ḇān בֶּן־ the grandson ben- נָח֑וֹר of Nahor ? ” nā·ḥō·wr וַיֹּ֣אמֶר Jacob asked way·yō·mer לָהֶ֔ם . lā·hem יָדָֽעְנוּ׃ “ We know him , ” yā·ḏā·‘ə·nū וַיֹּאמְר֖וּ they replied . way·yō·mə·rū Genesis 29:6 הֲשָׁל֣וֹם “ Is he well hă·šā·lō·wm ל֑וֹ ? ” lōw וַיֹּ֥אמֶר Jacob inquired way·yō·mer לָהֶ֖ם . lā·hem שָׁל֔וֹם “ Yes , ” šā·lō·wm וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ they answered , way·yō·mə·rū וְהִנֵּה֙ “ and here wə·hin·nêh בָּאָ֖ה comes bā·’āh בִּתּ֔וֹ his daughter bit·tōw רָחֵ֣ל Rachel rā·ḥêl עִם־ with ‘im- הַצֹּֽאן׃ his sheep . ” haṣ·ṣōn Genesis 29:7 הֵ֥ן “ Look , ” hên וַיֹּ֗אמֶר said Jacob , way·yō·mer עוֹד֙ “ it is still ‘ō·wḏ גָּד֔וֹל broad gā·ḏō·wl הַיּ֣וֹם daylight ; hay·yō·wm לֹא־ it is not yet lō- עֵ֖ת time ‘êṯ הֵאָסֵ֣ף to gather hê·’ā·sêp̄ הַמִּקְנֶ֑ה the livestock . ham·miq·neh הַשְׁק֥וּ Water haš·qū הַצֹּ֖אן the sheep haṣ·ṣōn וּלְכ֥וּ and take them back ū·lə·ḵū רְעֽוּ׃ to pasture . ” rə·‘ū Genesis 29:8 וַיֹּאמְרוּ֮ But they replied , way·yō·mə·rū לֹ֣א “ We cannot lō נוּכַל֒ . . . , nū·ḵal עַ֣ד until ‘aḏ אֲשֶׁ֤ר - ’ă·šer כָּל־ all kāl- הָ֣עֲדָרִ֔ים the flocks hā·‘ă·ḏā·rîm יֵאָֽסְפוּ֙ have been gathered yê·’ā·sə·p̄ū הָאֶ֔בֶן and the stone hā·’e·ḇen
