רָאִיתִי֩ I saw rā·’î·ṯî כִֽי־ that ḵî- הָעָ֜ם the troops hā·‘ām נָפַ֨ץ were deserting nā·p̄aṣ מֵעָלַ֗י me , mê·‘ā·lay וְאַתָּה֙ and that you wə·’at·tāh לֹא־ did not lō- בָ֙אתָ֙ come ḇā·ṯā לְמוֹעֵ֣ד at the appointed lə·mō·w·‘êḏ הַיָּמִ֔ים time hay·yā·mîm וּפְלִשְׁתִּ֖ים and the Philistines ū·p̄ə·liš·tîm נֶאֱסָפִ֥ים were gathering ne·’ĕ·sā·p̄îm מִכְמָֽשׂ׃ at Michmash , miḵ·māś 1 Samuel 13:12 וָאֹמַ֗ר I thought , wā·’ō·mar עַ֠תָּה ‘ Now ‘at·tāh פְלִשְׁתִּ֤ים the Philistines p̄ə·liš·tîm יֵרְד֨וּ will descend yê·rə·ḏū אֵלַי֙ upon me ’ê·lay הַגִּלְגָּ֔ל at Gilgal , hag·gil·gāl לֹ֣א and I have not lō חִלִּ֑יתִי sought ḥil·lî·ṯî וּפְנֵ֥י the favor ū·p̄ə·nê יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH . ’ Yah·weh וָֽאֶתְאַפַּ֔ק So I felt compelled wā·’eṯ·’ap·paq וָאַעֲלֶ֖ה to offer wā·’a·‘ă·leh הָעֹלָֽה׃ס the burnt offering .” hā·‘ō·lāh 1 Samuel 13:13 נִסְכָּ֑לְתָּ “ You have acted foolishly , ” nis·kā·lə·tā שְׁמוּאֵ֛ל Samuel šə·mū·’êl וַיֹּ֧אמֶר declared way·yō·mer אֶל־ - ’el- שָׁא֖וּל - . šā·’ūl לֹ֣א “ You have not lō שָׁמַ֗רְתָּ kept šā·mar·tā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- מִצְוַ֞ת the command miṣ·waṯ אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ’ă·šer יְהוָ֤ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙ your God ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā צִוָּ֔ךְ gave you ; ṣiw·wāḵ כִּ֣י - kî עַתָּ֗ה if you had , ‘at·tāh יְהוָ֧ה YHWH Yah·weh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הֵכִ֨ין would have established hê·ḵîn מַֽמְלַכְתְּךָ֛ your kingdom mam·laḵ·tə·ḵā אֶל־ over ’el- יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל Israel yiś·rā·’êl עַד־ for ‘aḏ- עוֹלָֽם׃ all time . ‘ō·w·lām 1 Samuel 13:14 וְעַתָּ֖ה But now wə·‘at·tāh מַמְלַכְתְּךָ֣ your kingdom mam·laḵ·tə·ḵā לֹא־ will not lō- תָק֑וּם endure ; ṯā·qūm יְהוָ֨ה YHWH Yah·weh בִּקֵּשׁ֩ has sought biq·qêš ל֜וֹ lōw אִ֣ישׁ a man ’îš כִּלְבָב֗וֹ after His own heart kil·ḇā·ḇōw וַיְצַוֵּ֨הוּ and appointed him way·ṣaw·wê·hū יְהוָ֤ה . . . Yah·weh לְנָגִיד֙ ruler lə·nā·ḡîḏ עַל־ over ‘al- עַמּ֔וֹ His people , ‘am·mōw כִּ֚י because kî לֹ֣א you have not lō שָׁמַ֔רְתָּ kept šā·mar·tā אֵ֥ת - ’êṯ אֲשֶֽׁר־ - ’ă·šer- צִוְּךָ֖ the command ṣiw·wə·ḵā יְהוָֽה׃פ of YHWH .” Yah·weh 1 Samuel 13:15 שְׁמוּאֵ֗ל Then Samuel šə·mū·’êl וַיָּ֣קָם set out way·yā·qām מִן־ from min- הַגִּלְגָּ֖ל Gilgal hag·gil·gāl וַיַּ֛עַל and went way·ya·‘al גִּבְעַ֣ת up to Gibeah giḇ·‘aṯ בִּנְיָמִ֑ן in Benjamin . bin·yā·min שָׁא֗וּל And Saul šā·’ūl אֶת־ ’eṯ- וַיִּפְקֹ֣ד numbered way·yip̄·qōḏ הָעָם֙ the troops hā·‘ām הַנִּמְצְאִ֣ים . . . han·nim·ṣə·’îm עִמּ֔וֹ who were with him , ‘im·mōw כְּשֵׁ֥שׁ about six kə·šêš מֵא֖וֹת hundred mê·’ō·wṯ אִֽישׁ׃ men . ’îš
