1 Samuel 12:20 אַל־ “ Do not ’al- תִּירָ֔אוּ be afraid , ” tî·rā·’ū שְׁמוּאֵ֤ל Samuel šə·mū·’êl אֶל־ . . . ’el- הָעָם֙ . . . hā·‘ām וַיֹּ֨אמֶר replied . way·yō·mer אַתֶּ֣ם “ Even though you ’at·tem עֲשִׂיתֶ֔ם have committed ‘ă·śî·ṯem אֵ֥ת - ’êṯ כָּל־ all kāl- הַזֹּ֑את this haz·zōṯ אַ֗ךְ . . . ’aḵ הָרָעָ֖ה evil , hā·rā·‘āh אַל־ do not ’al- תָּס֙וּרוּ֙ turn aside tā·sū·rū מֵאַחֲרֵ֣י from following mê·’a·ḥă·rê יְהוָ֔ה YHWH , Yah·weh וַעֲבַדְתֶּ֥ם but serve wa·‘ă·ḇaḏ·tem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוָ֖ה YHWH Yah·weh בְּכָל־ with all bə·ḵāl לְבַבְכֶֽם׃ your heart . lə·ḇaḇ·ḵem 1 Samuel 12:21 וְלֹ֖א Do not wə·lō תָּס֑וּרוּ turn aside tā·sū·rū כִּ֣י׀ . . . kî אַחֲרֵ֣י after ’a·ḥă·rê הַתֹּ֗הוּ worthless hat·tō·hū אֲשֶׁ֧ר things that ’ă·šer לֹֽא־ cannot lō- יוֹעִ֛ילוּ profit [you] yō·w·‘î·lū וְלֹ֥א . . . wə·lō יַצִּ֖ילוּ or deliver [you] , yaṣ·ṣî·lū כִּי־ for kî- הֵֽמָּה׃ they [are] hêm·māh תֹ֥הוּ empty . ṯō·hū 1 Samuel 12:22 כִּ֠י Indeed , kî בַּעֲב֖וּר for the sake ba·‘ă·ḇūr הַגָּד֑וֹל of His great hag·gā·ḏō·wl שְׁמ֣וֹ name , šə·mōw יְהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- לֹֽא־ will not lō- יִטֹּ֤שׁ abandon yiṭ·ṭōš עַמּ֔וֹ His people , ‘am·mōw כִּ֚י because kî יְהוָ֔ה [He] Yah·weh הוֹאִ֣יל was pleased hō·w·’îl לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת to make la·‘ă·śō·wṯ אֶתְכֶ֛ם you ’eṯ·ḵem ל֖וֹ His lōw לְעָֽם׃ [own] . lə·‘ām 1 Samuel 12:23 גַּ֣ם As for gam אָנֹכִ֗י me , ’ā·nō·ḵî חָלִ֤ילָה far be it from me ḥā·lî·lāh לִּי֙ that I lî מֵחֲטֹ֣א should sin mê·ḥă·ṭō לַֽיהוָ֔ה against YHWH Yah·weh מֵחֲדֹ֖ל by ceasing mê·ḥă·ḏōl לְהִתְפַּלֵּ֣ל to pray lə·hiṯ·pal·lêl בַּעַדְכֶ֑ם for you . ba·‘aḏ·ḵem וְהוֹרֵיתִ֣י And I will continue to teach wə·hō·w·rê·ṯî אֶתְכֶ֔ם you ’eṯ·ḵem הַטּוֹבָ֖ה the good haṭ·ṭō·w·ḇāh וְהַיְשָׁרָֽה׃ and right wə·hay·šā·rāh בְּדֶ֥רֶךְ way . bə·ḏe·reḵ 1 Samuel 12:24 אַ֣ךְ׀ Above all , ’aḵ יְר֣אוּ fear yə·r·’ū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוָ֗ה YHWH Yah·weh וַעֲבַדְתֶּ֥ם and serve wa·‘ă·ḇaḏ·tem אֹת֛וֹ Him ’ō·ṯōw בֶּאֱמֶ֖ת faithfully be·’ĕ·meṯ בְּכָל־ with all bə·ḵāl לְבַבְכֶ֑ם your heart ; lə·ḇaḇ·ḵem כִּ֣י . . . kî רְא֔וּ consider rə·’ū אֵ֥ת - ’êṯ אֲשֶׁר־ what ’ă·šer- הִגְדִּ֖ל great things He has done hiḡ·dil עִמָּכֶֽם׃ for you . ‘im·mā·ḵem 1 Samuel 12:25 וְאִם־ But if wə·’im- הָרֵ֖עַ you persist in doing evil hā·rê·a‘ תָּרֵ֑עוּ . . . , tā·rê·‘ū
