הַשּׁ֨וֹק the leg haš·šō·wq וְהֶעָלֶ֜יהָ and what was attached to it wə·he·‘ā·le·hā וַיָּ֣שֶׂם׀ and set [it] way·yā·śem לִפְנֵ֣י before lip̄·nê שָׁא֗וּל Saul . šā·’ūl וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ Then Samuel said , way·yō·mer הִנֵּ֤ה “ Here is hin·nêh הַנִּשְׁאָר֙ what was kept back . han·niš·’ār שִׂים־ [It] was set apart śîm- לְפָנֶ֣יךָ for you . lə·p̄ā·ne·ḵā אֱכֹ֔ל Eat , ’ĕ·ḵōl כִּ֧י for kî שָֽׁמוּר־ it has been kept šā·mūr- לְךָ֥ for you lə·ḵā לַמּוֹעֵ֛ד for this occasion , lam·mō·w·‘êḏ לֵאמֹ֖ר from the time I said , lê·mōr קָרָ֑אתִי ‘ I have invited qā·rā·ṯî הָעָ֣ם׀ the people . ’” hā·‘ām שָׁא֛וּל So Saul šā·’ūl וַיֹּ֧אכַל dined way·yō·ḵal עִם־ with ‘im- שְׁמוּאֵ֖ל Samuel šə·mū·’êl הַהֽוּא׃ that ha·hū בַּיּ֥וֹם day . bay·yō·wm 1 Samuel 9:25 וַיֵּרְד֥וּ And after they had come down way·yê·rə·ḏū מֵהַבָּמָ֖ה from the high place mê·hab·bā·māh הָעִ֑יר into the city , hā·‘îr וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר Samuel spoke way·ḏab·bêr עִם־ with ‘im- שָׁא֖וּל Saul šā·’ūl עַל־ on ‘al- הַגָּֽג׃ the roof of his house . hag·gāḡ 1 Samuel 9:26 וַיַּשְׁכִּ֗מוּ They got up early in the morning , way·yaš·ki·mū וַיְהִ֞י . . . way·hî כַּעֲל֤וֹת and just before ka·‘ă·lō·wṯ הַשַּׁ֙חַר֙ dawn haš·ša·ḥar שְׁמוּאֵ֤ל Samuel šə·mū·’êl וַיִּקְרָ֨א called way·yiq·rā אֶל־ to ’el- שָׁאוּל֙ Saul šā·’ūl הַגָּג on the roof , hag·gå̄ḡ לֵאמֹ֔ר . . . lê·mōr ק֖וּמָה “ Get ready , qū·māh וַאֲשַׁלְּחֶ֑ךָּ and I will send you on your way ! ” wa·’ă·šal·lə·ḥe·kā שָׁא֗וּל So Saul šā·’ūl וַיָּ֣קָם arose , way·yā·qām שְׁנֵיהֶ֛ם and both šə·nê·hem ה֥וּא he hū וּשְׁמוּאֵ֖ל and Samuel ū·šə·mū·’êl וַיֵּצְא֧וּ went way·yê·ṣə·’ū הַחֽוּצָה׃ outside together . ha·ḥū·ṣāh 1 Samuel 9:27 הֵ֗מָּה As they hêm·māh יֽוֹרְדִים֙ were going down yō·wr·ḏîm בִּקְצֵ֣ה to the edge biq·ṣêh הָעִ֔יר of the city , hā·‘îr וּשְׁמוּאֵ֞ל Samuel ū·šə·mū·’êl אָמַ֣ר said ’ā·mar אֶל־ to ’el- שָׁא֗וּל Saul , šā·’ūl אֱמֹ֥ר “ Tell ’ĕ·mōr לַנַּ֛עַר the servant lan·na·‘ar וְיַעֲבֹ֥ר to go on wə·ya·‘ă·ḇōr לְפָנֵ֖ינוּ ahead of us , lə·p̄ā·nê·nū וְאַתָּה֙ but you wə·’at·tāh עֲמֹ֣ד stay ‘ă·mōḏ כַּיּ֔וֹם for a while , kay·yō·wm וְאַשְׁמִיעֲךָ֖ and I will reveal to you wə·’aš·mî·‘ă·ḵā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- דְּבַ֥ר the word də·ḇar אֱלֹהִֽים׃פ of God . ” ’ĕ·lō·hîm וַֽיַּעֲבֹ֑ר So [the servant] went on . way·ya·‘ă·ḇōr 1 Samuel 10:1 שְׁמוּאֵ֜ל Then Samuel šə·mū·’êl אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּקַּ֨ח took way·yiq·qaḥ פַּ֥ךְ a flask paḵ הַשֶּׁ֛מֶן of oil , haš·še·men וַיִּצֹ֥ק poured it way·yi·ṣōq עַל־ on ‘al- רֹאשׁ֖וֹ Saul’s head , rō·šōw וַיִּשָּׁקֵ֑הוּ kissed him , way·yiš·šā·qê·hū וַיֹּ֕אמֶר and said , way·yō·mer הֲל֗וֹא “ Has not hă·lō·w כִּֽי־ . . . kî- יְהוָ֛ה YHWH Yah·weh מְשָׁחֲךָ֧ anointed you mə·šā·ḥă·ḵā לְנָגִֽיד׃ ruler lə·nā·ḡîḏ עַל־ over ‘al- נַחֲלָת֖וֹ His inheritance ? na·ḥă·lā·ṯōw
