אִ֥ישׁ . . . ’îš לְבֵיתֽוֹ׃ to his house . lə·ḇê·ṯōw Judges 20:9 וְעַתָּ֕ה Now wə·‘at·tāh זֶ֣ה this zeh הַדָּבָ֔ר . . . had·dā·ḇār אֲשֶׁ֥ר is what ’ă·šer נַעֲשֶׂ֖ה we will do na·‘ă·śeh לַגִּבְעָ֑ה to Gibeah : lag·giḇ·‘āh עָלֶ֖יהָ We will go against it ‘ā·le·hā בְּגוֹרָֽל׃ as the lot dictates . bə·ḡō·w·rāl Judges 20:10 וְלָקַ֣חְנוּ We will take wə·lā·qaḥ·nū עֲשָׂרָה֩ ten ‘ă·śā·rāh אֲנָשִׁ֨ים men ’ă·nā·šîm לַמֵּאָ֜ה out of [every] hundred lam·mê·’āh לְכֹ֣ל׀ from all lə·ḵōl שִׁבְטֵ֣י the tribes šiḇ·ṭê יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל of Israel , yiś·rā·’êl וּמֵאָ֤ה and a hundred ū·mê·’āh לָאֶ֙לֶף֙ out of [every] thousand , lā·’e·lep̄ וְאֶ֣לֶף and a thousand wə·’e·lep̄ לָרְבָבָ֔ה out of [every] ten thousand , lā·rə·ḇā·ḇāh לָקַ֥חַת to supply lā·qa·ḥaṯ צֵדָ֖ה provisions ṣê·ḏāh לָעָ֑ם for the army lā·‘ām לְבוֹאָם֙ when they go lə·ḇō·w·’ām לְגֶ֣בַע to Gibeah lə·ḡe·ḇa‘ בִּנְיָמִ֔ן in Benjamin bin·yā·min לַעֲשׂ֗וֹת to punish them la·‘ă·śō·wṯ כְּכָל־ vvv kə·ḵāl- הַ֨נְּבָלָ֔ה for the atrocity han·nə·ḇā·lāh אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer עָשָׂ֖ה they have committed ‘ā·śāh בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ in Israel . ” bə·yiś·rā·’êl Judges 20:11 כָּל־ So all kāl- אִ֤ישׁ the men ’îš יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ of Israel yiś·rā·’êl וַיֵּֽאָסֵ֞ף gathered way·yê·’ā·sêp̄ אֶחָ֖ד as one ’e·ḥāḏ כְּאִ֥ישׁ man , kə·’îš חֲבֵרִֽים׃פ united ḥă·ḇê·rîm אֶל־ against ’el- הָעִ֔יר the city . hā·‘îr Judges 20:12 שִׁבְטֵ֤י And the tribes šiḇ·ṭê יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ of Israel yiś·rā·’êl וַֽיִּשְׁלְח֞וּ sent way·yiš·lə·ḥū אֲנָשִׁ֔ים men ’ă·nā·šîm בְּכָל־ throughout bə·ḵāl שִׁבְטֵ֥י the tribe šiḇ·ṭê בִנְיָמִ֖ן of Benjamin , ḇin·yā·min לֵאמֹ֑ר saying , lê·mōr מָ֚ה “ What māh הַזֹּ֔את is this haz·zōṯ הָרָעָ֣ה wickedness hā·rā·‘āh אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ’ă·šer נִהְיְתָ֖ה has occurred nih·yə·ṯāh בָּכֶֽם׃ among you ? bā·ḵem Judges 20:13 וְעַתָּ֡ה - wə·‘at·tāh תְּנוּ֩ Hand over tə·nū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָאֲנָשִׁ֨ים - hā·’ă·nā·šîm בְלִיַּ֜עַל the wicked ḇə·lî·ya·‘al בְּנֵֽי־ men bə·nê- אֲשֶׁ֤ר - ’ă·šer בַּגִּבְעָה֙ of Gibeah bag·giḇ·‘āh וּנְמִיתֵ֔ם so we can put them to death ū·nə·mî·ṯêm וּנְבַעֲרָ֥ה and purge ū·nə·ḇa·‘ă·rāh מִיִּשְׂרָאֵ֑ל Israel mî·yiś·rā·’êl רָעָ֖ה of this evil . ” rā·‘āh בִּנְיָמִ֔ן But the Benjamites bin·yā·min אָבוְֵּ֣֙ refused ʾå̄·ḇ·wē וְלֹ֤א . . . wə·lō לִשְׁמֹ֕עַ to heed liš·mō·a‘ בְּק֖וֹל the voice bə·qō·wl אֲחֵיהֶ֥ם of their fellow ’ă·ḥê·hem בְּנֵֽי־ vvv bə·nê- יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Israelites . yiś·rā·’êl Judges 20:14 מִן־ And from min- הֶעָרִ֖ים their cities he·‘ā·rîm בְנֵֽי־ [they] ḇə·nê- בִנְיָמִ֛ן . . . ḇin·yā·min וַיֵּאָסְפ֧וּ came together way·yê·’ā·sə·p̄ū הַגִּבְעָ֑תָה at Gibeah hag·giḇ·‘ā·ṯāh
