וַיֹּ֣אמֶר So he said way·yō·mer לָהֶ֔ם to them : lā·hem לוּלֵא֙ “ If you had not lū·lê חֲרַשְׁתֶּ֣ם plowed ḥă·raš·tem בְּעֶגְלָתִ֔י with my heifer , bə·‘eḡ·lā·ṯî לֹ֥א you would not lō מְצָאתֶ֖ם have solved mə·ṣā·ṯem חִידָתִֽי׃ my riddle ! ” ḥî·ḏā·ṯî Judges 14:19 ר֣וּחַ Then the Spirit rū·aḥ יְהוָ֗ה of YHWH Yah·weh וַתִּצְלַ֨ח came mightily wat·tiṣ·laḥ עָלָ֜יו upon him , ‘ā·lāw וַיֵּ֨רֶד and he went down way·yê·reḏ אַשְׁקְל֜וֹן to Ashkelon , ’aš·qə·lō·wn וַיַּ֥ךְ killed way·yaḵ מֵהֶ֣ם׀ . . . mê·hem שְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים thirty šə·lō·šîm אִ֗ישׁ of their men , ’îš וַיִּקַּח֙ took way·yiq·qaḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- חֲלִ֣יצוֹתָ֔ם their apparel , ḥă·lî·ṣō·w·ṯām וַיִּתֵּן֙ and gave way·yit·tên הַחֲלִיפ֔וֹת their clothes ha·ḥă·lî·p̄ō·wṯ לְמַגִּידֵ֖י to those who had solved lə·mag·gî·ḏê הַחִידָ֑ה the riddle . ha·ḥî·ḏāh וַיִּ֣חַר And burning way·yi·ḥar אַפּ֔וֹ with anger , ’ap·pōw וַיַּ֖עַל Samson returned way·ya·‘al אָבִֽיהוּ׃פ to his father’s ’ā·ḇî·hū בֵּ֥ית house , bêṯ Judges 14:20 שִׁמְשׁ֑וֹן and his šim·šō·wn לְמֵ֣רֵעֵ֔הוּ . . . lə·mê·rê·‘ê·hū אֵ֣שֶׁת wife ’ê·šeṯ וַתְּהִ֖י was given wat·tə·hî אֲשֶׁ֥ר to one of the men who ’ă·šer רֵעָ֖ה had accompanied rê·‘āh לֽוֹ׃ him . lōw Judges 15:1 וַיְהִ֨י Later on way·hî מִיָּמִ֜ים . . . , mî·yā·mîm בִּימֵ֣י at the time bî·mê חִטִּ֗ים of the wheat ḥiṭ·ṭîm קְצִיר־ harvest , qə·ṣîr- שִׁמְשׁ֤וֹן Samson šim·šō·wn אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בִּגְדִ֣י took biḡ·ḏî עִזִּ֔ים a young goat ‘iz·zîm וַיִּפְקֹ֨ד and went to visit way·yip̄·qōḏ אִשְׁתּוֹ֙ his wife . ’iš·tōw אָבֹ֥אָה “ I want to go ’ā·ḇō·’āh אֶל־ to ’el- אִשְׁתִּ֖י my wife ’iš·tî הֶחָ֑דְרָה in her room , ” he·ḥā·ḏə·rāh וַיֹּ֕אמֶר he said . way·yō·mer אָבִ֖יהָ But her father ’ā·ḇî·hā וְלֹֽא־ would not wə·lō- נְתָנ֥וֹ let him nə·ṯā·nōw לָבֽוֹא׃ enter . lā·ḇō·w Judges 15:2 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר “ I was sure way·yō·mer אָמֹ֤ר . . . ’ā·mōr כִּי־ that kî- שָׂנֹ֣א you thoroughly hated her śā·nō שְׂנֵאתָ֔הּ . . . , ” śə·nê·ṯāh אָמַ֙רְתִּי֙ said ’ā·mar·tî אָבִ֗יהָ her father , ’ā·ḇî·hā וָאֶתְּנֶ֖נָּה “ so I gave her wā·’et·tə·nen·nāh לְמֵרֵעֶ֑ךָ to one of the men who accompanied you . lə·mê·rê·‘e·ḵā הֲלֹ֨א Is not hă·lō הַקְּטַנָּה֙ her younger haq·qə·ṭan·nāh אֲחֹתָ֤הּ sister ’ă·ḥō·ṯāh טוֹבָ֣ה more beautiful ṭō·w·ḇāh מִמֶּ֔נָּה than she ? mim·men·nāh נָ֥א Please nā תְּהִי־ take her tə·hî- לְךָ֖ lə·ḵā תַּחְתֶּֽיהָ׃ instead . ” taḥ·te·hā Judges 15:3 שִׁמְשׁ֔וֹן Samson šim·šō·wn וַיֹּ֤אמֶר said way·yō·mer לָהֶם֙ to them , lā·hem הַפַּ֖עַם “ This time hap·pa·‘am נִקֵּ֥יתִי I will be blameless niq·qê·ṯî כִּֽי־ - kî- אֲנִ֛י - ’ă·nî עִמָּ֖ם - ‘im·mām עֹשֶׂ֥ה in doing ‘ō·śeh רָעָֽה׃ harm rā·‘āh
