קַֽח־ “ Get qaḥ- אוֹתָ֣הּ her ’ō·w·ṯāh לִ֔י for me , lî כִּֽי־ for kî- הִ֖יא she hî יָשְׁרָ֥ה is pleasing yā·šə·rāh בְעֵינָֽי׃ to my eyes . ” ḇə·‘ê·nāy Judges 14:4 וְאָבִ֨יו ( Now his father wə·’ā·ḇîw וְאִמּ֜וֹ and mother wə·’im·mōw לֹ֣א did not lō יָדְע֗וּ know yā·ḏə·‘ū כִּ֤י . . . kî הִ֔יא this hî כִּי־ was from kî- מֵיְהוָה֙ YHWH , Yah·weh הֽוּא־ who hū- מְבַקֵּ֖שׁ was seeking mə·ḇaq·qêš תֹאֲנָ֥ה an occasion to move ṯō·’ă·nāh מִפְּלִשְׁתִּ֑ים against the Philistines ; mip·pə·liš·tîm הַהִ֔יא for at that ha·hî וּבָעֵ֣ת time ū·ḇā·‘êṯ פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים the Philistines pə·liš·tîm מֹשְׁלִ֥ים were ruling mō·šə·lîm בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃פ over Israel . ) bə·yiś·rā·’êl Judges 14:5 שִׁמְשׁ֛וֹן Then Samson šim·šō·wn וַיֵּ֧רֶד went down way·yê·reḏ תִּמְנָ֑תָה to Timnah tim·nā·ṯāh וְאָבִ֥יו with his father wə·’ā·ḇîw וְאִמּ֖וֹ and mother wə·’im·mōw וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ and came way·yā·ḇō·’ū עַד־ to ‘aḏ- כַּרְמֵ֣י the vineyards kar·mê תִמְנָ֔תָה of Timnah . ṯim·nā·ṯāh וְהִנֵּה֙ Suddenly wə·hin·nêh כְּפִ֣יר a young lion kə·p̄îr אֲרָי֔וֹת . . . ’ă·rā·yō·wṯ שֹׁאֵ֖ג came roaring šō·’êḡ לִקְרָאתֽוֹ׃ at him , liq·rā·ṯōw Judges 14:6 ר֣וּחַ and the Spirit rū·aḥ יְהוָ֗ה of YHWH Yah·weh וַתִּצְלַ֨ח came powerfully wat·tiṣ·laḥ עָלָ֜יו upon him , ‘ā·lāw וַֽיְשַׁסְּעֵ֙הוּ֙ and he tore the lion apart way·šas·sə·‘ê·hū וּמְא֖וּמָה with his bare ū·mə·’ū·māh אֵ֣ין . . . ’ên בְּיָד֑וֹ hands bə·yā·ḏōw כְּשַׁסַּ֣ע as one would tear kə·šas·sa‘ הַגְּדִ֔י a young goat . hag·gə·ḏî וְלֹ֤א But he did not wə·lō הִגִּיד֙ tell hig·gîḏ לְאָבִ֣יו his father lə·’ā·ḇîw וּלְאִמּ֔וֹ or mother ū·lə·’im·mōw אֵ֖ת - ’êṯ אֲשֶׁ֥ר what ’ă·šer עָשָֽׂה׃ he had done . ‘ā·śāh Judges 14:7 וַיֵּ֖רֶד Then [Samson] continued on his way down way·yê·reḏ וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר and spoke way·ḏab·bêr לָאִשָּׁ֑ה to the woman , lā·’iš·šāh שִׁמְשֽׁוֹן׃ because šim·šō·wn וַתִּישַׁ֖ר she was pleasing wat·tî·šar בְּעֵינֵ֥י to his eyes . bə·‘ê·nê Judges 14:8 וַיָּ֤שָׁב When [Samson] returned way·yā·šāḇ מִיָּמִים֙ later mî·yā·mîm לְקַחְתָּ֔הּ to take her , lə·qaḥ·tāh וַיָּ֣סַר he left way·yā·sar לִרְא֔וֹת the road to see lir·’ō·wṯ אֵ֖ת - ’êṯ הָאַרְיֵ֑ה the lion’s hā·’ar·yêh מַפֶּ֣לֶת carcass , map·pe·leṯ בִּגְוִיַּ֥ת and in [it] biḡ·wî·yaṯ הָאַרְיֵ֖ה . . . hā·’ar·yêh וְהִנֵּ֨ה was wə·hin·nêh עֲדַ֧ת a swarm ‘ă·ḏaṯ דְּבוֹרִ֛ים of bees , də·ḇō·w·rîm וּדְבָֽשׁ׃ along with their honey . ū·ḏə·ḇāš Judges 14:9 וַיִּרְדֵּ֣הוּ So he scooped way·yir·dê·hū אֶל־ some honey into ’el- כַּפָּ֗יו his hands kap·pāw וְאָכֹ֔ל and ate it wə·’ā·ḵōl וַיֵּ֤לֶךְ as he went along way·yê·leḵ הָלוֹךְ֙ . . . . hā·lō·wḵ וַיֵּ֙לֶךְ֙ And when he returned way·yê·leḵ
