שְׁמָהּ֙ it šə·māh רְחֹב֔וֹת Rehoboth rə·ḥō·ḇō·wṯ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר and said , way·yō·mer כִּֽי־ “ At last kî- עַתָּ֞ה . . . ‘at·tāh יְהוָ֛ה YHWH Yah·weh הִרְחִ֧יב has made room hir·ḥîḇ לָ֖נוּ for us , lā·nū וּפָרִ֥ינוּ and we will be fruitful ū·p̄ā·rî·nū בָאָֽרֶץ׃ in the land . ” ḇā·’ā·reṣ Genesis 26:23 מִשָּׁ֖ם From there miš·šām בְּאֵ֥ר bə·’êr וַיַּ֥עַל [Isaac] went up way·ya·‘al שָֽׁבַע׃ to Beersheba , šā·ḇa‘ Genesis 26:24 הַה֔וּא and that ha·hū בַּלַּ֣יְלָה night bal·lay·lāh יְהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh וַיֵּרָ֨א appeared way·yê·rā אֵלָ֤יו to him ’ê·lāw וַיֹּ֕אמֶר and said , way·yō·mer אָנֹכִ֕י “ I ’ā·nō·ḵî אֱלֹהֵ֖י am the God ’ĕ·lō·hê אָבִ֑יךָ of your father ’ā·ḇî·ḵā אַבְרָהָ֣ם Abraham . ’aḇ·rā·hām אַל־ Do not ’al- תִּירָא֙ be afraid , tî·rā כִּֽי־ for kî- אָנֹ֔כִי I ’ā·nō·ḵî אִתְּךָ֣ am with you . ’it·tə·ḵā וּבֵֽרַכְתִּ֙יךָ֙ I will bless ū·ḇê·raḵ·tî·ḵā וְהִרְבֵּיתִ֣י you and multiply wə·hir·bê·ṯî אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- זַרְעֲךָ֔ your descendants zar·‘ă·ḵā בַּעֲב֖וּר for the sake ba·‘ă·ḇūr עַבְדִּֽי׃ of My servant ‘aḇ·dî אַבְרָהָ֥ם Abraham . ” ’aḇ·rā·hām Genesis 26:25 וַיִּ֧בֶן So [Isaac] built way·yi·ḇen מִזְבֵּ֗חַ an altar miz·bê·aḥ שָׁ֣ם there šām וַיִּקְרָא֙ and called way·yiq·rā בְּשֵׁ֣ם on the name bə·šêm יְהוָ֔ה of YHWH , Yah·weh וַיֶּט־ and he pitched way·yeṭ- אָהֳל֑וֹ his tent ’ā·ho·lōw שָׁ֖ם there . šām יִצְחָ֖ק [His] yiṣ·ḥāq עַבְדֵי־ servants ‘aḇ·ḏê- וַיִּכְרוּ־ also dug way·yiḵ·rū- בְּאֵֽר׃ a well bə·’êr שָׁ֥ם there . šām Genesis 26:26 וַאֲבִימֶ֕לֶךְ Later, Abimelech wa·’ă·ḇî·me·leḵ הָלַ֥ךְ came hā·laḵ אֵלָ֖יו to [Isaac] ’ê·lāw מִגְּרָ֑ר from Gerar , mig·gə·rār וַאֲחֻזַּת֙ with Ahuzzath wa·’ă·ḥuz·zaṯ מֵֽרֵעֵ֔הוּ his adviser mê·rê·‘ê·hū וּפִיכֹ֖ל and Phicol ū·p̄î·ḵōl שַׂר־ the commander śar- צְבָאֽוֹ׃ of his army . ṣə·ḇā·’ōw Genesis 26:27 מַדּ֖וּעַ “ Why mad·dū·a‘ בָּאתֶ֣ם have you come bā·ṯem אֵלָ֑י to me ? ” ’ê·lāy יִצְחָ֔ק Isaac yiṣ·ḥāq וַיֹּ֤אמֶר asked way·yō·mer אֲלֵהֶם֙ them . ’ă·lê·hem וְאַתֶּם֙ “ You wə·’at·tem שְׂנֵאתֶ֣ם hated śə·nê·ṯem אֹתִ֔י me ’ō·ṯî וַתְּשַׁלְּח֖וּנִי and sent me away wat·tə·šal·lə·ḥū·nî מֵאִתְּכֶֽם׃ . . . . ” mê·’it·tə·ḵem Genesis 26:28 רָא֣וֹ “ We can plainly see rā·’ōw רָאִינוּ֮ . . . rā·’î·nū כִּֽי־ that kî- יְהוָ֣ה׀ YHWH Yah·weh הָיָ֣ה has been hā·yāh עִמָּךְ֒ with you , ” ‘im·māḵ וַיֹּאמְר֗וּ they replied . way·yō·mə·rū וַנֹּ֗אמֶר “ We recommend that wan·nō·mer תְּהִ֨י there should now be tə·hî נָ֥א . . . nā אָלָ֛ה an oath ’ā·lāh בֵּינוֹתֵ֖ינוּ between bê·nō·w·ṯê·nū
