יִצְחָ֑ק Isaac , yiṣ·ḥāq לֵ֚ךְ “ Depart from lêḵ מֵֽעִמָּ֔נוּ us , mê·‘im·mā·nū כִּֽי־ for kî- מְאֹֽד׃ you are much mə·’ōḏ עָצַֽמְתָּ־ too powerful ‘ā·ṣam·tā- מִמֶּ֖נּוּ for us . ” mim·men·nū Genesis 26:17 יִצְחָ֑ק So Isaac yiṣ·ḥāq וַיֵּ֥לֶךְ left way·yê·leḵ מִשָּׁ֖ם that place miš·šām וַיִּ֥חַן and encamped way·yi·ḥan בְּנַֽחַל־ in the Valley bə·na·ḥal- גְּרָ֖ר of Gerar gə·rār וַיֵּ֥שֶׁב and settled way·yê·šeḇ שָֽׁם׃ there . šām Genesis 26:18 יִצְחָ֜ק Isaac yiṣ·ḥāq וַיָּ֨שָׁב reopened way·yā·šāḇ וַיַּחְפֹּ֣ר׀ . . . way·yaḥ·pōr אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בְּאֵרֹ֣ת the wells bə·’ê·rōṯ הַמַּ֗יִם . . . ham·ma·yim אֲשֶׁ֤ר that ’ă·šer חָֽפְרוּ֙ had been dug ḥā·p̄ə·rū בִּימֵי֙ in the days bî·mê אָבִ֔יו of his father ’ā·ḇîw אַבְרָהָ֣ם Abraham , ’aḇ·rā·hām פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים which the Philistines pə·liš·tîm וַיְסַתְּמ֣וּם had stopped up way·sat·tə·mūm אַחֲרֵ֖י after ’a·ḥă·rê אַבְרָהָ֑ם Abraham ’aḇ·rā·hām מ֣וֹת died . mō·wṯ וַיִּקְרָ֤א And he gave way·yiq·rā לָהֶן֙ [these wells] lā·hen שֵׁמ֔וֹת the same names šê·mō·wṯ כַּשֵּׁמֹ֕ת . . . kaš·šê·mōṯ אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- אָבִֽיו׃ his father ’ā·ḇîw קָרָ֥א had given qā·rā לָהֶ֖ן them . lā·hen Genesis 26:19 יִצְחָ֖ק Then Isaac’s yiṣ·ḥāq עַבְדֵֽי־ servants ‘aḇ·ḏê- וַיַּחְפְּר֥וּ dug way·yaḥ·pə·rū בַּנָּ֑חַל in the valley ban·nā·ḥal וַיִּ֨מְצְאוּ־ and found way·yim·ṣə·’ū- בְּאֵ֖ר a well bə·’êr חַיִּֽים׃ of fresh ḥay·yîm מַ֥יִם water ma·yim שָׁ֔ם there . šām Genesis 26:20 רֹעֵ֣י But the herdsmen rō·‘ê גְרָ֗ר of Gerar ḡə·rār וַיָּרִ֜יבוּ quarreled way·yā·rî·ḇū עִם־ with ‘im- יִצְחָ֛ק Isaac’s yiṣ·ḥāq רֹעֵ֥י herdsmen rō·‘ê לֵאמֹ֖ר and said lê·mōr לָ֣נוּ , lā·nū הַמָּ֑יִם “ The water is ours ! ” ham·mā·yim וַיִּקְרָ֤א So he named way·yiq·rā שֵֽׁם־ . . . šêm- הַבְּאֵר֙ the well hab·bə·’êr עֵ֔שֶׂק Esek , ‘ê·śeq כִּ֥י because kî הִֽתְעַשְּׂק֖וּ they contended hiṯ·‘aś·śə·qū עִמּֽוֹ׃ with him . ‘im·mōw Genesis 26:21 וַֽיַּחְפְּרוּ֙ Then they dug way·yaḥ·pə·rū אַחֶ֔רֶת another ’a·ḥe·reṯ בְּאֵ֣ר well bə·’êr וַיָּרִ֖יבוּ and quarreled way·yā·rî·ḇū עָלֶ֑יהָ over ‘ā·le·hā גַּם־ that one {also} ; gam- וַיִּקְרָ֥א so he named way·yiq·rā שְׁמָ֖הּ it šə·māh שִׂטְנָֽה׃ Sitnah . śiṭ·nāh Genesis 26:22 וַיַּעְתֵּ֣ק He moved on way·ya‘·têq מִשָּׁ֗ם from there miš·šām וַיַּחְפֹּר֙ and dug way·yaḥ·pōr בְּאֵ֣ר . . . bə·’êr אַחֶ֔רֶת another [well] , ’a·ḥe·reṯ וְלֹ֥א and they did not wə·lō רָב֖וּ quarrel rā·ḇū עָלֶ֑יהָ over it . ‘ā·le·hā וַיִּקְרָ֤א He named way·yiq·rā
