אֶ֣רֶץ the land ’e·reṣ מוֹאָ֔ב of Moab mō·w·’āḇ וְאֶת־ [or] wə·’eṯ- אֶ֖רֶץ - ’e·reṣ בְּנֵ֥י - bə·nê עַמּֽוֹן׃ of the Ammonites . ‘am·mō·wn Judges 11:16 כִּ֖י But kî בַּעֲלוֹתָ֣ם when [Israel] came up ba·‘ă·lō·w·ṯām מִמִּצְרָ֑יִם out of Egypt , mim·miṣ·rā·yim יִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל [they] yiś·rā·’êl וַיֵּ֨לֶךְ traveled way·yê·leḵ בַּמִּדְבָּר֙ through the wilderness bam·miḏ·bār עַד־ to ‘aḏ- ס֔וּף the Red sūp̄ יַם־ Sea yam- וַיָּבֹ֖א and came way·yā·ḇō קָדֵֽשָׁה׃ to Kadesh . qā·ḏê·šāh Judges 11:17 יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל Then Israel yiś·rā·’êl וַיִּשְׁלַ֣ח sent way·yiš·laḥ מַלְאָכִ֣ים׀ messengers mal·’ā·ḵîm אֶל־ to ’el- מֶלֶךְ֩ the king me·leḵ אֱד֨וֹם׀ of Edom , ’ĕ·ḏō·wm לֵאמֹ֜ר saying , lê·mōr נָּ֣א ‘ Please nā אֶעְבְּרָה־ let us pass ’e‘·bə·rāh- בְאַרְצֶ֗ךָ through your land , ’ ḇə·’ar·ṣe·ḵā מֶ֣לֶךְ but the king me·leḵ אֱד֔וֹם of Edom ’ĕ·ḏō·wm וְלֹ֤א would not wə·lō שָׁמַע֙ listen . šā·ma‘ וְגַ֨ם They also wə·ḡam שָׁלַ֖ח sent šā·laḥ אֶל־ messengers to ’el- מֶ֧לֶךְ the king me·leḵ מוֹאָ֛ב of Moab , mō·w·’āḇ וְלֹ֣א but he would not wə·lō אָבָ֑ה consent . ’ā·ḇāh יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל So Israel yiś·rā·’êl וַיֵּ֥שֶׁב stayed way·yê·šeḇ בְּקָדֵֽשׁ׃ in Kadesh . bə·qā·ḏêš Judges 11:18 וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ Then [Israel] traveled way·yê·leḵ בַּמִּדְבָּ֗ר through the wilderness bam·miḏ·bār וַיָּ֜סָב and bypassed way·yā·sāḇ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֶ֤רֶץ the lands ’e·reṣ אֱדוֹם֙ of Edom ’ĕ·ḏō·wm וְאֶת־ and wə·’eṯ- אֶ֣רֶץ ’e·reṣ מוֹאָ֔ב Moab . mō·w·’āḇ וַיָּבֹ֤א They came way·yā·ḇō מִמִּזְרַח־ to mim·miz·raḥ- שֶׁ֙מֶשׁ֙ the east side še·meš לְאֶ֣רֶץ of the land lə·’e·reṣ מוֹאָ֔ב of Moab mō·w·’āḇ וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּן and camped way·ya·ḥă·nūn בְּעֵ֣בֶר on the other side bə·‘ê·ḇer אַרְנ֑וֹן of the Arnon . ’ar·nō·wn וְלֹא־ But they did not wə·lō- בָ֙אוּ֙ enter ḇā·’ū בִּגְב֣וּל the territory biḡ·ḇūl מוֹאָ֔ב of Moab , mō·w·’āḇ כִּ֥י since kî אַרְנ֖וֹן the Arnon ’ar·nō·wn גְּב֥וּל was its border gə·ḇūl מוֹאָֽב׃ - . mō·w·’āḇ Judges 11:19 יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ And Israel yiś·rā·’êl וַיִּשְׁלַ֤ח sent way·yiš·laḥ מַלְאָכִ֔ים messengers mal·’ā·ḵîm אֶל־ to ’el- סִיח֥וֹן Sihon sî·ḥō·wn מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- הָאֱמֹרִ֖י of the Amorites , hā·’ĕ·mō·rî מֶ֣לֶךְ who ruled me·leḵ חֶשְׁבּ֑וֹן in Heshbon , ḥeš·bō·wn יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל - yiś·rā·’êl וַיֹּ֤אמֶר and said way·yō·mer לוֹ֙ to him , lōw נָּ֥א ‘ Please nā נַעְבְּרָה־ let us pass na‘·bə·rāh- בְאַרְצְךָ֖ through your land ḇə·’ar·ṣə·ḵā עַד־ into ‘aḏ- מְקוֹמִֽי׃ our own place . ’ mə·qō·w·mî Judges 11:20 סִיח֤וֹן But Sihon sî·ḥō·wn אֶת־ - ’eṯ-
