Judges 2:12 וַיַּעַזְב֞וּ Thus they forsook way·ya·‘az·ḇū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוָ֣ה׀ YHWH , Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֣י the God ’ĕ·lō·hê אֲבוֹתָ֗ם of their fathers , ’ă·ḇō·w·ṯām הַמּוֹצִ֣יא who had brought them ham·mō·w·ṣî אוֹתָם֮ - ’ō·w·ṯām מֵאֶ֣רֶץ out of the land mê·’e·reṣ מִצְרַיִם֒ of Egypt , miṣ·ra·yim וַיֵּלְכ֞וּ and they followed way·yê·lə·ḵū אַחֲרֵ֣י׀ after ’a·ḥă·rê אֲחֵרִ֗ים various ’ă·ḥê·rîm מֵאֱלֹהֵ֤י . . . mê·’ĕ·lō·hê אֱלֹהִ֣ים gods ’ĕ·lō·hîm הָֽעַמִּים֙ of the peoples hā·‘am·mîm סְבִיב֣וֹתֵיהֶ֔ם around them . sə·ḇî·ḇō·w·ṯê·hem אֲשֶׁר֙ - ’ă·šer וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲו֖וּ They bowed down way·yiš·ta·ḥă·wū לָהֶ֑ם to them lā·hem וַיַּכְעִ֖סוּ and provoked way·yaḵ·‘i·sū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוָֽה׃ YHWH {to anger} , Yah·weh Judges 2:13 וַיַּעַזְב֖וּ for they forsook way·ya·‘az·ḇū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוָ֑ה Him Yah·weh וַיַּעַבְד֥וּ and served way·ya·‘aḇ·ḏū לַבַּ֖עַל Baal lab·ba·‘al וְלָעַשְׁתָּרֽוֹת׃ and the Ashtoreths . wə·lā·‘aš·tā·rō·wṯ Judges 2:14 אַ֤ף Then the anger ’ap̄ יְהוָה֙ of YHWH Yah·weh וַיִּֽחַר־ burned way·yi·ḥar- בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל against Israel , bə·yiś·rā·’êl וַֽיִּתְּנֵם֙ and He delivered them way·yit·tə·nêm בְּיַד־ into the hands bə·yaḏ- שֹׁסִ֔ים vvv šō·sîm וַיָּשֹׁ֖סּוּ of those who plundered way·yā·šōs·sū אוֹתָ֑ם them . ’ō·w·ṯām וַֽיִּמְכְּרֵ֞ם He sold them way·yim·kə·rêm בְּיַ֤ד into the hands bə·yaḏ אֽוֹיְבֵיהֶם֙ of their enemies ’ō·wy·ḇê·hem מִסָּבִ֔יב all around , mis·sā·ḇîḇ יָכְל֣וּ whom they were yā·ḵə·lū וְלֹֽא־ no wə·lō- ע֔וֹד longer ‘ō·wḏ לַעֲמֹ֖ד able to resist la·‘ă·mōḏ לִפְנֵ֥י . . . lip̄·nê אוֹיְבֵיהֶֽם׃ - . ’ō·wy·ḇê·hem Judges 2:15 בְּכֹ֣ל׀ Wherever bə·ḵōl אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer יָצְא֗וּ [Israel] marched out , yā·ṣə·’ū יַד־ the hand yaḏ- יְהוָה֙ of YHWH Yah·weh הָיְתָה־ was hā·yə·ṯāh- בָּ֣ם against them bām לְרָעָ֔ה to bring calamity , lə·rā·‘āh כַּֽאֲשֶׁר֙ just as ka·’ă·šer יְהוָ֔ה He Yah·weh וְכַאֲשֶׁ֛ר - wə·ḵa·’ă·šer דִּבֶּ֣ר vvv dib·ber נִשְׁבַּ֥ע had sworn niš·ba‘ יְהוָ֖ה . . . Yah·weh לָהֶ֑ם to them . lā·hem וַיֵּ֥צֶר So they were greatly distressed way·yê·ṣer לָהֶ֖ם . . . lā·hem מְאֹֽד׃ . . . . mə·’ōḏ Judges 2:16 יְהוָ֖ה Then YHWH Yah·weh וַיָּ֥קֶם raised up way·yā·qem שֹֽׁפְטִ֑ים judges , šō·p̄ə·ṭîm וַיּ֣וֹשִׁיע֔וּם who saved them way·yō·wō·šî·‘ūm מִיַּ֖ד from the hands mî·yaḏ שֹׁסֵיהֶֽם׃ of those who plundered them . šō·sê·hem Judges 2:17 וְגַ֤ם [Israel,] however , wə·ḡam לֹ֣א did not lō שָׁמֵ֔עוּ listen šā·mê·‘ū אֶל־ to ’el- שֹֽׁפְטֵיהֶם֙ their judges . šō·p̄ə·ṭê·hem כִּ֣י Instead , kî זָנ֗וּ they prostituted zā·nū אַֽחֲרֵי֙ themselves with ’a·ḥă·rê אֲחֵרִ֔ים other ’ă·ḥê·rîm אֱלֹהִ֣ים gods ’ĕ·lō·hîm וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲו֖וּ and bowed down way·yiš·ta·ḥă·wū לָהֶ֑ם to them . lā·hem
