Judges 2:1 מַלְאַךְ־ Now the angel mal·’aḵ- יְהוָ֛ה of YHWH Yah·weh וַיַּ֧עַל went up way·ya·‘al מִן־ from min- הַגִּלְגָּ֖ל Gilgal hag·gil·gāl אֶל־ to ’el- הַבֹּכִ֑ים פ Bochim hab·bō·ḵīm p̄ וַיֹּאמֶר֩ and said , way·yō·mer אַעֲלֶ֨ה “ I brought you up ’a·‘ă·leh אֶתְכֶ֜ם - ’eṯ·ḵem מִמִּצְרַ֗יִם out of Egypt mim·miṣ·ra·yim וָאָבִ֤יא and led wā·’ā·ḇî אֶתְכֶם֙ - ’eṯ·ḵem אֶל־ you into ’el- הָאָ֗רֶץ the land hā·’ā·reṣ אֲשֶׁ֤ר that ’ă·šer נִשְׁבַּ֙עְתִּי֙ I had promised niš·ba‘·tî לַאֲבֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם to your fathers , la·’ă·ḇō·ṯê·ḵem וָאֹמַ֕ר and I said , wā·’ō·mar לֹֽא־ ‘ I will never lō- לְעוֹלָֽם׃ . . . lə·‘ō·w·lām אָפֵ֧ר break ’ā·p̄êr בְּרִיתִ֛י My covenant bə·rî·ṯî אִתְּכֶ֖ם with you , ’it·tə·ḵem Judges 2:2 וְאַתֶּ֗ם and you wə·’at·tem לֹֽא־ are not lō- תִכְרְת֤וּ to make ṯiḵ·rə·ṯū בְרִית֙ a covenant ḇə·rîṯ לְיֽוֹשְׁבֵי֙ with the people lə·yō·wō·šə·ḇê הַזֹּ֔את of this haz·zōṯ הָאָ֣רֶץ land , hā·’ā·reṣ תִּתֹּצ֑וּן but you shall tear down tit·tō·ṣūn מִזְבְּחוֹתֵיהֶ֖ם their altars . ’ miz·bə·ḥō·w·ṯê·hem וְלֹֽא־ Yet you have not wə·lō- שְׁמַעְתֶּ֥ם obeyed šə·ma‘·tem בְּקֹלִ֖י My voice . bə·qō·lî מַה־ What mah- זֹּ֥את is this zōṯ עֲשִׂיתֶֽם׃ you have done ? ‘ă·śî·ṯem Judges 2:3 וְגַ֣ם So now wə·ḡam אָמַ֔רְתִּי I tell you ’ā·mar·tî לֹֽא־ that I will not lō- אֲגָרֵ֥שׁ drive out [these people] ’ă·ḡā·rêš אוֹתָ֖ם - ’ō·w·ṯām מִפְּנֵיכֶ֑ם before you ; mip·pə·nê·ḵem וְהָי֤וּ they will be [thorns] wə·hā·yū לָכֶם֙ in your lā·ḵem לְצִדִּ֔ים sides , lə·ṣid·dîm וֵאלֹ֣הֵיהֶ֔ם and their gods wê·lō·hê·hem יִהְי֥וּ will be yih·yū לְמוֹקֵֽשׁ׃ a snare lə·mō·w·qêš לָכֶ֖ם to you . ” lā·ḵem Judges 2:4 וַיְהִ֗י - way·hî מַלְאַ֤ךְ When the angel mal·’aḵ יְהוָה֙ of YHWH Yah·weh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- כְּדַבֵּ֞ר had spoken kə·ḏab·bêr הָאֵ֔לֶּה these hā·’êl·leh הַדְּבָרִ֣ים words had·də·ḇā·rîm אֶֽל־ to ’el- כָּל־ all kāl- בְּנֵ֖י the Israelites bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל . . . , yiś·rā·’êl הָעָ֛ם the people hā·‘ām אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּשְׂא֥וּ lifted up way·yiś·’ū קוֹלָ֖ם their voices qō·w·lām וַיִּבְכּֽוּ׃ and wept . way·yiḇ·kū Judges 2:5 וַֽיִּקְרְא֛וּ So they called way·yiq·rə·’ū שֵֽׁם־ . . . šêm- הַה֖וּא that ha·hū הַמָּק֥וֹם place ham·mā·qō·wm בֹּכִ֑ים Bochim bō·ḵîm וַיִּזְבְּחוּ־ and offered sacrifices way·yiz·bə·ḥū- שָׁ֖ם there šām לַֽיהוָֽה׃פ to YHWH . Yah·weh Judges 2:6 יְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ After Joshua yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘ אֶת־ ’eṯ- וַיְשַׁלַּ֥ח had dismissed way·šal·laḥ הָעָ֑ם the people , hā·‘ām בְנֵֽי־ the Israelites ḇə·nê- יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל . . . yiś·rā·’êl
