אֶל־ to ’el- סִיח֖וֹן Sihon sî·ḥō·wn מֶ֣לֶךְ king me·leḵ חֶשְׁבּ֑וֹן of Heshbon , ḥeš·bō·wn לֵאמֹֽר׃ saying , lê·mōr Deuteronomy 2:27 אֶעְבְּרָ֣ה “ Let us pass ’e‘·bə·rāh בְאַרְצֶ֔ךָ through your land ; ḇə·’ar·ṣe·ḵā בַּדֶּ֥רֶךְ we will stay on the main road bad·de·reḵ בַּדֶּ֖רֶךְ . . . bad·de·reḵ אֵלֵ֑ךְ . . . . ’ê·lêḵ לֹ֥א We will not lō אָס֖וּר turn ’ā·sūr יָמִ֥ין to the right yā·mîn וּשְׂמֹֽאול׃ or to the left . ū·śə·mō·wl Deuteronomy 2:28 תַּשְׁבִּרֵ֙נִי֙ You can sell us taš·bi·rê·nî אֹ֣כֶל food ’ō·ḵel בַּכֶּ֤סֶף - bak·ke·sep̄ וְאָכַ֔לְתִּי to eat wə·’ā·ḵal·tî תִּתֶּן־ [and] tit·ten- לִ֖י lî וּמַ֛יִם water ū·ma·yim וְשָׁתִ֑יתִי to drink wə·šā·ṯî·ṯî בַּכֶּ֥סֶף in exchange for silver . bak·ke·sep̄ רַ֖ק Only raq אֶעְבְּרָ֥ה let us pass through ’e‘·bə·rāh בְרַגְלָֽי׃ on foot , ḇə·raḡ·lāy Deuteronomy 2:29 כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר just as ka·’ă·šer בְּנֵ֣י the descendants bə·nê עֵשָׂ֗ו of Esau ‘ê·śāw הַיֹּֽשְׁבִים֙ who live hay·yō·šə·ḇîm בְּשֵׂעִ֔יר in Seir bə·śê·‘îr וְהַמּ֣וֹאָבִ֔ים and the Moabites wə·ham·mō·w·’ā·ḇîm הַיֹּשְׁבִ֖ים who live hay·yō·šə·ḇîm בְּעָ֑ר in Ar bə·‘ār עָֽשׂוּ־ did for us ‘ā·śū- לִ֜י , lî עַ֤ד until ‘aḏ אֲשֶֽׁר־ - ’ă·šer- אֶֽעֱבֹר֙ we cross ’e·‘ĕ·ḇōr אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן the Jordan hay·yar·dên אֶל־ into ’el- הָאָ֕רֶץ the land hā·’ā·reṣ אֲשֶׁר־ that ’ă·šer- יְהוָ֥ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ our God ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū נֹתֵ֥ן is giving nō·ṯên לָֽנוּ׃ us . ” lā·nū Deuteronomy 2:30 סִיחֹן֙ But Sihon sî·ḥōn מֶ֣לֶךְ king me·leḵ חֶשְׁבּ֔וֹן of Heshbon ḥeš·bō·wn אָבָ֗ה would ’ā·ḇāh וְלֹ֣א not wə·lō הַעֲבִרֵ֖נוּ let us pass ha·‘ă·ḇi·rê·nū בּ֑וֹ through , bōw כִּֽי־ for kî- יְהוָ֨ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֶ֜יךָ your God ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- רוּח֗וֹ had made his spirit rū·ḥōw הִקְשָׁה֩ stubborn hiq·šāh לְבָב֔וֹ and his heart lə·ḇā·ḇōw וְאִמֵּץ֙ obstinate , wə·’im·mêṣ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- לְמַ֛עַן that lə·ma·‘an תִּתּ֥וֹ He might deliver him tit·tōw בְיָדְךָ֖ into your hand , ḇə·yā·ḏə·ḵā הַזֶּֽה׃ס as is the case haz·zeh כַּיּ֥וֹם this day . kay·yō·wm Deuteronomy 2:31 יְהוָה֙ Then YHWH Yah·weh וַיֹּ֤אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֵלַ֔י to me , ’ê·lay רְאֵ֗ה “ See , rə·’êh הַֽחִלֹּ֙תִי֙ I have begun ha·ḥil·lō·ṯî תֵּ֣ת to deliver têṯ סִיחֹ֖ן Sihon sî·ḥōn וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- אַרְצ֑וֹ and his land ’ar·ṣōw לְפָנֶ֔יךָ over to you . lə·p̄ā·ne·ḵā אֶת־ Now ’eṯ- הָחֵ֣ל begin hā·ḥêl רָ֔שׁ to conquer rāš לָרֶ֖שֶׁת and possess lā·re·šeṯ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אַרְצֽוֹ׃ his land . ” ’ar·ṣōw
