Numbers 25:10 יְהוָ֖ה Then YHWH Yah·weh וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר said way·ḏab·bêr אֶל־ to ’el- מֹשֶׁ֥ה Moses mō·šeh לֵּאמֹֽר׃ . . . , lê·mōr Numbers 25:11 פִּֽינְחָ֨ס “ Phinehas pî·nə·ḥās בֶּן־ son ben- אֶלְעָזָ֜ר of Eleazar , ’el·‘ā·zār בֶּן־ the son ben- אַהֲרֹ֣ן of Aaron ’a·hă·rōn הַכֹּהֵ֗ן the priest , hak·kō·hên הֵשִׁ֤יב has turned hê·šîḇ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- חֲמָתִי֙ My wrath ḥă·mā·ṯî מֵעַ֣ל away from mê·‘al בְּנֵֽי־ the Israelites bə·nê- יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל . . . ; yiś·rā·’êl בְּקַנְא֥וֹ for he was zealous bə·qan·’ōw קִנְאָתִ֖י [for My sake] qin·’ā·ṯî בְּתוֹכָ֑ם among them , bə·ṯō·w·ḵām אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וְלֹא־ so that I did not wə·lō- כִלִּ֥יתִי consume ḵil·lî·ṯî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בְּנֵֽי־ the Israelites bə·nê- יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל . . . yiś·rā·’êl בְּקִנְאָתִֽי׃ in My zeal . bə·qin·’ā·ṯî Numbers 25:12 אֱמֹ֑ר Declare , ’ĕ·mōr לָכֵ֖ן therefore , lā·ḵên הִנְנִ֨י that hin·nî נֹתֵ֥ן I am granting nō·ṯên ל֛וֹ him lōw אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בְּרִיתִ֖י My covenant bə·rî·ṯî שָׁלֽוֹם׃ of peace . šā·lō·wm Numbers 25:13 וְהָ֤יְתָה It will be wə·hā·yə·ṯāh בְּרִ֖ית a covenant bə·rîṯ עוֹלָ֑ם of permanent ‘ō·w·lām כְּהֻנַּ֣ת priesthood kə·hun·naṯ לּוֹ֙ for him lōw אַחֲרָ֔יו vvv ’a·ḥă·rāw וּלְזַרְע֣וֹ and his descendants , ū·lə·zar·‘ōw תַּ֗חַת because ta·ḥaṯ אֲשֶׁ֤ר - ’ă·šer קִנֵּא֙ he was zealous qin·nê לֵֽאלֹהָ֔יו for his God lê·lō·hāw וַיְכַפֵּ֖ר and made atonement way·ḵap·pêr עַל־ for ‘al- בְּנֵ֥י the Israelites bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ . . . . ” yiś·rā·’êl Numbers 25:14 וְשֵׁם֩ The name wə·šêm אִ֨ישׁ vvv ’îš יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל of the Israelite yiś·rā·’êl הַמֻּכֶּ֗ה who was slain ham·muk·keh אֲשֶׁ֤ר - ’ă·šer הֻכָּה֙ - huk·kāh אֶת־ with ’eṯ- הַמִּדְיָנִ֔ית the Midianite woman ham·miḏ·yā·nîṯ זִמְרִ֖י was Zimri zim·rî בֶּן־ son ben- סָל֑וּא of Salu , sā·lū נְשִׂ֥יא the leader nə·śî לַשִּׁמְעֹנִֽי׃ of a Simeonite laš·šim·‘ō·nî אָ֖ב family ’āḇ בֵֽית־ . . . . ḇêṯ- Numbers 25:15 וְשֵׁ֨ם And the name wə·šêm הַמֻּכָּ֛ה of the slain ham·muk·kāh הַמִּדְיָנִ֖ית Midianite ham·miḏ·yā·nîṯ הָֽאִשָּׁ֧ה woman hā·’iš·šāh כָּזְבִּ֣י was Cozbi , kā·zə·bî בַת־ the daughter ḇaṯ- צ֑וּר of Zur , ṣūr אֻמּ֥וֹת a tribal ’um·mō·wṯ רֹ֣אשׁ chief rōš בְּמִדְיָ֖ן of a Midianite bə·miḏ·yān הֽוּא׃פ . . . hū אָ֛ב family ’āḇ בֵּֽית־ . . . . bêṯ- Numbers 25:16 יְהוָ֖ה And YHWH Yah·weh אֶל־ . . . ’el-
