וּבְנֵ֣י And [these were] the Israelites ū·ḇə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל . . . yiś·rā·’êl הַיֹּצְאִ֖ים who came out hay·yō·ṣə·’îm מֵאֶ֥רֶץ of the land mê·’e·reṣ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ of Egypt : miṣ·rā·yim Numbers 26:5 רְאוּבֵ֖ן Reuben rə·’ū·ḇên בְּכ֣וֹר was the firstborn bə·ḵō·wr יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל of Israel . yiś·rā·’êl בְּנֵ֣י [These were] the descendants bə·nê רְאוּבֵ֗ן of Reuben : rə·’ū·ḇên הַחֲנֹכִ֔י The Hanochite ha·ḥă·nō·ḵî מִשְׁפַּ֣חַת clan miš·pa·ḥaṯ חֲנוֹךְ֙ from Hanoch , ḥă·nō·wḵ הַפַּלֻּאִֽי׃ the Palluite hap·pal·lu·’î מִשְׁפַּ֖חַת clan miš·pa·ḥaṯ לְפַלּ֕וּא from Pallu , lə·p̄al·lū Numbers 26:6 הַֽחֶצְרוֹנִ֑י the Hezronite ha·ḥeṣ·rō·w·nî מִשְׁפַּ֖חַת clan miš·pa·ḥaṯ לְחֶצְרֹ֕ן from Hezron , lə·ḥeṣ·rōn לְכַרְמִ֕י [and] the Carmite lə·ḵar·mî מִשְׁפַּ֖חַת clan miš·pa·ḥaṯ הַכַּרְמִֽי׃ from Carmi . hak·kar·mî Numbers 26:7 אֵ֖לֶּה These ’êl·leh וַיִּהְי֣וּ were the way·yih·yū מִשְׁפְּחֹ֣ת clans miš·pə·ḥōṯ הָרֻֽאוּבֵנִ֑י of Reuben , hå̄·ru·ʾū·ḇē·nī פְקֻדֵיהֶ֗ם and their registration p̄ə·qu·ḏê·hem שְׁלֹשָׁ֤ה numbered 43,730 šə·lō·šāh וְאַרְבָּעִים֙ . . . wə·’ar·bā·‘îm אֶ֔לֶף . . . ’e·lep̄ וּשְׁבַ֥ע . . . ū·šə·ḇa‘ מֵא֖וֹת . . . mê·’ō·wṯ וּשְׁלֹשִֽׁים׃ . . . . ū·šə·lō·šîm Numbers 26:8 וּבְנֵ֥י Now the son ū·ḇə·nê פַלּ֖וּא of Pallu p̄al·lū אֱלִיאָֽב׃ was Eliab , ’ĕ·lî·’āḇ Numbers 26:9 וּבְנֵ֣י and the sons ū·ḇə·nê אֱלִיאָ֔ב of Eliab ’ĕ·lî·’āḇ נְמוּאֵ֖ל were Nemuel , nə·mū·’êl וְדָתָ֣ן Dathan , wə·ḏā·ṯān וַאֲבִירָ֑ם and Abiram . wa·’ă·ḇî·rām הֽוּא־ It hū- דָתָ֨ן was Dathan ḏā·ṯān וַאֲבִירָ֜ם and Abiram , wa·’ă·ḇî·rām קְרוּאֵי chosen qə·rū·ʾē הָעֵדָ֗ה by the congregation , hā·‘ê·ḏāh אֲשֶׁ֨ר who ’ă·šer הִצּ֜וּ fought hiṣ·ṣū עַל־ against ‘al- מֹשֶׁ֤ה Moses mō·šeh וְעַֽל־ and wə·‘al- אַהֲרֹן֙ Aaron ’a·hă·rōn בַּעֲדַת־ with the followers ba·‘ă·ḏaṯ- קֹ֔רַח of Korah qō·raḥ בְּהַצֹּתָ֖ם who rebelled bə·haṣ·ṣō·ṯām עַל־ against ‘al- יְהוָֽה׃ YHWH . Yah·weh Numbers 26:10 הָאָ֜רֶץ And the earth hā·’ā·reṣ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַתִּפְתַּ֨ח opened wat·tip̄·taḥ פִּ֗יהָ its mouth pî·hā וַתִּבְלַ֥ע and swallowed wat·tiḇ·la‘ אֹתָ֛ם them ’ō·ṯām וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- קֹ֖רַח along with Korah , qō·raḥ הָעֵדָ֑ה whose followers hā·‘ê·ḏāh בְּמ֣וֹת died bə·mō·wṯ הָאֵ֗שׁ when the fire hā·’êš אֵ֣ת - ’êṯ בַּאֲכֹ֣ל consumed ba·’ă·ḵōl חֲמִשִּׁ֤ים 250 ḥă·miš·šîm וּמָאתַ֙יִם֙ . . . ū·mā·ṯa·yim אִ֔ישׁ men . ’îš וַיִּהְי֖וּ They serve way·yih·yū לְנֵֽס׃ as a warning sign . lə·nês Numbers 26:11 וּבְנֵי־ However, the line ū·ḇə·nê- קֹ֖רַח of Korah qō·raḥ לֹא־ did not lō- מֵֽתוּ׃ס die out . mê·ṯū
