וְיִתְנֶחָ֑ם that He should change His mind . wə·yiṯ·ne·ḥām הַה֤וּא Does He ha·hū אָמַר֙ speak ’ā·mar וְלֹ֣א and not wə·lō יַעֲשֶׂ֔ה act ? ya·‘ă·śeh וְדִבֶּ֖ר Does He promise wə·ḏib·ber וְלֹ֥א and not wə·lō יְקִימֶֽנָּה׃ fulfill ? yə·qî·men·nāh Numbers 23:20 הִנֵּ֥ה I have indeed hin·nêh לָקָ֑חְתִּי received lā·qā·ḥə·tî בָרֵ֖ךְ a command to bless ; ḇā·rêḵ וּבֵרֵ֖ךְ He has blessed , ū·ḇê·rêḵ וְלֹ֥א and I cannot wə·lō אֲשִׁיבֶֽנָּה׃ change it . ’ă·šî·ḇen·nāh Numbers 23:21 הִבִּ֥יט He considers hib·bîṭ לֹֽא־ no lō- אָ֙וֶן֙ disaster ’ā·wen בְּיַעֲקֹ֔ב for Jacob ; bə·ya·‘ă·qōḇ רָאָ֥ה He sees rā·’āh וְלֹא־ no wə·lō- עָמָ֖ל trouble ‘ā·māl בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל for Israel . bə·yiś·rā·’êl יְהוָ֤ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהָיו֙ their God ’ĕ·lō·hāw עִמּ֔וֹ is with them , ‘im·mōw וּתְרוּעַ֥ת and the shout ū·ṯə·rū·‘aṯ מֶ֖לֶךְ of the King me·leḵ בּֽוֹ׃ is among them . bōw Numbers 23:22 אֵ֖ל God ’êl מוֹצִיאָ֣ם brought them out mō·w·ṣî·’ām מִמִּצְרָ֑יִם of Egypt mim·miṣ·rā·yim כְּתוֹעֲפֹ֥ת with strength kə·ṯō·w·‘ă·p̄ōṯ רְאֵ֖ם like a wild ox rə·’êm לֽוֹ׃ . lōw Numbers 23:23 כִּ֤י For kî לֹא־ there is no lō- נַ֙חַשׁ֙ spell na·ḥaš בְּיַעֲקֹ֔ב against Jacob bə·ya·‘ă·qōḇ וְלֹא־ and no wə·lō- קֶ֖סֶם divination qe·sem בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל against Israel . bə·yiś·rā·’êl כָּעֵ֗ת It will now kā·‘êṯ יֵאָמֵ֤ר be said yê·’ā·mêr לְיַעֲקֹב֙ of Jacob lə·ya·‘ă·qōḇ וּלְיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל and Israel , ū·lə·yiś·rā·’êl מַה־ ‘ What mah- אֵֽל׃ great things God ’êl פָּ֖עַל has done ! ’ pā·‘al Numbers 23:24 הֶן־ Behold , hen- עָם֙ the people ‘ām יָק֔וּם rise yā·qūm כְּלָבִ֣יא like a lioness ; kə·lā·ḇî יִתְנַשָּׂ֑א they rouse themselves yiṯ·naś·śā וְכַאֲרִ֖י like a lion , wə·ḵa·’ă·rî לֹ֤א not lō יִשְׁכַּב֙ resting yiš·kaḇ עַד־ until ‘aḏ- יֹ֣אכַל they devour yō·ḵal טֶ֔רֶף their prey ṭe·rep̄ יִשְׁתֶּֽה׃ and drink yiš·teh וְדַם־ the blood wə·ḏam- חֲלָלִ֖ים of the slain . ” ḥă·lā·lîm Numbers 23:25 בָּלָק֙ Now Balak bā·lāq וַיֹּ֤אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- בִּלְעָ֔ם Balaam , bil·‘ām גַּם־ “ Then gam- לֹ֣א neither lō תִקֳּבֶ֑נּוּ curse them ṯiq·qo·ḇen·nū קֹ֖ב at all qōḇ גַּם־ . . . gam- לֹ֥א nor lō בָּרֵ֖ךְ bless them bā·rêḵ תְבָרֲכֶֽנּוּ׃ at all ! ” ṯə·ḇā·ră·ḵen·nū Numbers 23:26 בִּלְעָ֔ם But Balaam bil·‘ām וַיֹּ֖אמֶר . . . way·yō·mer אֶל־ . . . ’el- וַיַּ֣עַן replied way·ya·‘an בָּלָ֑ק - , bā·lāq
