הַיַּ֖יִן its wine , hay·ya·yin וַיִּשְׁכָּ֑ר he became drunk way·yiš·kār וַיִּתְגַּ֖ל and uncovered himself way·yiṯ·gal בְּת֥וֹךְ inside bə·ṯō·wḵ אָהֳלֹֽה׃ his tent . ʾå̄·ho·lōh Genesis 9:22 חָ֚ם And Ham , ḥām אֲבִ֣י the father ’ă·ḇî כְנַ֔עַן of Canaan , ḵə·na·‘an אֵ֖ת - ’êṯ וַיַּ֗רְא saw way·yar אָבִ֑יו his father’s ’ā·ḇîw עֶרְוַ֣ת nakedness ‘er·waṯ וַיַּגֵּ֥ד and told way·yag·gêḏ לִשְׁנֵֽי־ his two liš·nê- אֶחָ֖יו brothers ’e·ḥāw בַּחֽוּץ׃ outside . ba·ḥūṣ Genesis 9:23 שֵׁ֨ם Then Shem šêm וָיֶ֜פֶת and Japheth wā·ye·p̄eṯ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּקַּח֩ took way·yiq·qaḥ הַשִּׂמְלָ֗ה a garment haś·śim·lāh וַיָּשִׂ֙ימוּ֙ and placed way·yā·śî·mū עַל־ it across ‘al- שְׁנֵיהֶ֔ם . . . šə·nê·hem שְׁכֶ֣ם their shoulders , šə·ḵem וַיֵּֽלְכוּ֙ and walking way·yê·lə·ḵū אֲחֹ֣רַנִּ֔ית backward , ’ă·ḥō·ran·nîṯ וַיְכַסּ֕וּ they covered way·ḵas·sū אֵ֖ת - ’êṯ אֲבִיהֶ֑ם their father’s ’ă·ḇî·hem עֶרְוַ֣ת nakedness . ‘er·waṯ וּפְנֵיהֶם֙ Their faces ū·p̄ə·nê·hem אֲחֹ֣רַנִּ֔ית were turned away ’ă·ḥō·ran·nîṯ לֹ֥א so that they did not lō רָאֽוּ׃ see rā·’ū אֲבִיהֶ֖ם their father’s ’ă·ḇî·hem וְעֶרְוַ֥ת nakedness . wə·‘er·waṯ Genesis 9:24 נֹ֖חַ When Noah nō·aḥ וַיִּ֥יקֶץ awoke way·yî·qeṣ מִיֵּינ֑וֹ from his drunkenness mî·yê·nōw וַיֵּ֕דַע and learned way·yê·ḏa‘ אֵ֛ת - ’êṯ אֲשֶׁר־ what ’ă·šer- הַקָּטָֽן׃ his youngest haq·qā·ṭān בְּנ֥וֹ son bə·nōw עָ֥שָׂה־ had done ‘ā·śāh- ל֖וֹ to him , lōw Genesis 9:25 וַיֹּ֖אמֶר he said , way·yō·mer אָר֣וּר “ Cursed be ’ā·rūr כְּנָ֑עַן Canaan ! kə·nā·‘an עֶ֥בֶד A servant ‘e·ḇeḏ עֲבָדִ֖ים of servants ‘ă·ḇā·ḏîm יִֽהְיֶ֥ה shall he be yih·yeh לְאֶחָֽיו׃ to his brothers . ” lə·’e·ḥāw Genesis 9:26 וַיֹּ֕אמֶר He also declared : way·yō·mer בָּר֥וּךְ “ Blessed bā·rūḵ יְהֹוָ֖ה [be] YHWH , Yah·weh אֱלֹ֣הֵי the God ’ĕ·lō·hê שֵׁ֑ם of Shem ! šêm כְנַ֖עַן May Canaan ḵə·na·‘an וִיהִ֥י be wî·hî עֶ֥בֶד the servant ‘e·ḇeḏ לָֽמוֹ׃ of [Shem] . lā·mōw Genesis 9:27 אֱלֹהִים֙ {May} God ’ĕ·lō·hîm יַ֤פְתְּ expand the territory yap̄t לְיֶ֔פֶת of Japheth ; lə·ye·p̄eṯ וְיִשְׁכֹּ֖ן may he dwell wə·yiš·kōn בְּאָֽהֳלֵי־ in the tents bə·’ā·ho·lê- שֵׁ֑ם of Shem , šêm כְנַ֖עַן and may Canaan ḵə·na·‘an וִיהִ֥י be wî·hî עֶ֥בֶד his servant ‘e·ḇeḏ לָֽמוֹ׃ . . . . ” lā·mōw Genesis 9:28 אַחַ֣ר After ’a·ḥar הַמַּבּ֑וּל the flood , ham·mab·būl נֹ֖חַ Noah nō·aḥ וַֽיְחִי־ lived way·ḥî- שְׁלֹ֤שׁ 350 šə·lōš מֵאוֹת֙ . . . mê·’ō·wṯ
