Haggai 1:6 זְרַעְתֶּ֨ם You have planted zə·ra‘·tem הַרְבֵּ֜ה much har·bêh וְהָבֵ֣א but harvested wə·hā·ḇê מְעָ֗ט little . mə·‘āṭ אָכ֤וֹל You eat ’ā·ḵō·wl וְאֵין־ but never wə·’ên- לְשָׂבְעָה֙ have enough . lə·śā·ḇə·‘āh שָׁת֣וֹ You drink šā·ṯōw וְאֵין־ but never wə·’ên- לְשָׁכְרָ֔ה have your fill . lə·šā·ḵə·rāh לָב֖וֹשׁ You put on clothes lā·ḇō·wōš וְאֵין־ but never wə·’ên- לְחֹ֣ם get warm lə·ḥōm ל֑וֹ . lōw וְהַ֨מִּשְׂתַּכֵּ֔ר You earn wages wə·ham·miś·tak·kêr מִשְׂתַּכֵּ֖ר . . . miś·tak·kêr אֶל־ to put into ’el- צְר֥וֹר a bag ṣə·rō·wr נָקֽוּב׃פ pierced through . ” nā·qūḇ Haggai 1:7 כֹּ֥ה This is what kōh יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh צְבָא֑וֹת of Hosts ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ אָמַ֖ר says : ’ā·mar שִׂ֥ימוּ “ Consider carefully śî·mū לְבַבְכֶ֖ם . . . lə·ḇaḇ·ḵem עַל־ . . . ‘al- דַּרְכֵיכֶֽם׃ your ways . dar·ḵê·ḵem Haggai 1:8 עֲל֥וּ Go up ‘ă·lū הָהָ֛ר into the hills , hā·hār וַהֲבֵאתֶ֥ם bring down wa·hă·ḇê·ṯem עֵ֖ץ lumber , ‘êṣ וּבְנ֣וּ and build ū·ḇə·nū הַבָּ֑יִת the house , hab·bā·yiṯ וְאֶרְצֶה־ so that I may take pleasure wə·’er·ṣeh- בּ֥וֹ in it bōw וְאֶכָּבֵד and be glorified , wə·ʾɛk·kå̄·ḇēḏ אָמַ֥ר says ’ā·mar יְהוָֽה׃ YHWH . Yah·weh Haggai 1:9 פָּנֹ֤ה You expected pā·nōh אֶל־ . . . ’el- הַרְבֵּה֙ much , har·bêh וְהִנֵּ֣ה but behold , wə·hin·nêh לִמְעָ֔ט it amounted to little . lim·‘āṭ וַהֲבֵאתֶ֥ם And what you brought wa·hă·ḇê·ṯem הַבַּ֖יִת home , hab·ba·yiṯ וְנָפַ֣חְתִּי I blew away wə·nā·p̄aḥ·tî ב֑וֹ . ḇōw יַ֣עַן Why ya·‘an מֶ֗ה . . . ? meh נְאֻם֙ declares nə·’um יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh צְבָא֔וֹת of Hosts . ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ יַ֗עַן Because ya·‘an בֵּיתִי֙ My house bê·ṯî אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- ה֣וּא - hū חָרֵ֔ב [still lies] in ruins , ḥā·rêḇ אִ֥ישׁ while each ’îš וְאַתֶּ֥ם of you wə·’at·tem רָצִ֖ים is busy rā·ṣîm לְבֵיתֽוֹ׃ with his own house . lə·ḇê·ṯōw Haggai 1:10 עַל־ Therefore , ‘al- כֵּ֣ן . . . kên עֲלֵיכֶ֔ם on account of you ‘ă·lê·ḵem שָמַ֖יִם the heavens šå̄·ma·yim כָּלְא֥וּ have withheld kā·lə·’ū מִטָּ֑ל their dew miṭ·ṭāl וְהָאָ֖רֶץ and the earth wə·hā·’ā·reṣ כָּלְאָ֥ה has withheld kā·lə·’āh יְבוּלָֽהּ׃ its crops . yə·ḇū·lāh Haggai 1:11 וָאֶקְרָ֨א I have summoned wā·’eq·rā חֹ֜רֶב a drought ḥō·reḇ עַל־ on ‘al- הָאָ֣רֶץ the fields hā·’ā·reṣ וְעַל־ and on wə·‘al- הֶהָרִ֗ים the mountains , he·hā·rîm וְעַל־ on wə·‘al- הַדָּגָן֙ the grain , had·dā·ḡān וְעַל־ wə·‘al- הַתִּיר֣וֹשׁ new wine , hat·tî·rō·wōš וְעַל־ and wə·‘al- הַיִּצְהָ֔ר oil , hay·yiṣ·hār וְעַ֛ל . . . wə·‘al
