כּוּשִׁ֣י of Cushi , kū·šî בֶן־ the son ḇen- גְּדַלְיָ֔ה of Gedaliah , gə·ḏal·yāh בֶּן־ the son ben- אֲמַרְיָ֖ה of Amariah , ’ă·mar·yāh בֶּן־ the son ben- חִזְקִיָּ֑ה of Hezekiah , ḥiz·qî·yāh בִּימֵ֛י in the days bî·mê יֹאשִׁיָּ֥הוּ of Josiah yō·šî·yā·hū בֶן־ son ḇen- אָמ֖וֹן of Amon ’ā·mō·wn מֶ֥לֶךְ king me·leḵ יְהוּדָֽה׃ of Judah : yə·hū·ḏāh Zephaniah 1:2 אָסֹ֨ף “ I will completely sweep away ’ā·sōp̄ אָסֵ֜ף . . . ’ā·sêp̄ כֹּ֗ל everything kōl מֵעַ֛ל from mê·‘al פְּנֵ֥י the face pə·nê הָאֲדָמָ֖ה of the earth , ” hā·’ă·ḏā·māh נְאֻם־ declares nə·’um- יְהוָֽה׃ YHWH . Yah·weh Zephaniah 1:3 אָסֵ֨ף “ I will sweep away ’ā·sêp̄ אָדָ֜ם man ’ā·ḏām וּבְהֵמָ֗ה and beast ; ū·ḇə·hê·māh אָסֵ֤ף I will sweep away ’ā·sêp̄ עוֹף־ the birds ‘ō·wp̄- הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ of the air , haš·šā·ma·yim וּדְגֵ֣י and the fish ū·ḏə·ḡê הַיָּ֔ם of the sea , hay·yām וְהַמַּכְשֵׁל֖וֹת and the idols wə·ham·maḵ·šê·lō·wṯ אֶת־ with ’eṯ- הָרְשָׁעִ֑ים their wicked {worshipers} . hā·rə·šā·‘îm וְהִכְרַתִּ֣י I will cut off wə·hiḵ·rat·tî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָאָדָ֗ם mankind hā·’ā·ḏām מֵעַ֛ל from mê·‘al פְּנֵ֥י the face pə·nê הָאֲדָמָ֖ה of the earth , ” hā·’ă·ḏā·māh נְאֻם־ declares nə·’um- יְהוָֽה׃ YHWH . Yah·weh Zephaniah 1:4 וְנָטִ֤יתִי “ I will stretch out wə·nā·ṭî·ṯî יָדִי֙ My hand yā·ḏî עַל־ against ‘al- יְהוּדָ֔ה Judah yə·hū·ḏāh וְעַ֖ל and against wə·‘al כָּל־ all kāl- יוֹשְׁבֵ֣י who dwell yō·wō·šə·ḇê יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם in Jerusalem . yə·rū·šā·lim וְהִכְרַתִּ֞י I will cut off wə·hiḵ·rat·tî מִן־ from min- הַזֶּה֙ this haz·zeh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַמָּק֤וֹם place ham·mā·qō·wm שְׁאָ֣ר every remnant šə·’ār הַבַּ֔עַל of Baal hab·ba·‘al אֶת־ - , ’eṯ- שֵׁ֥ם the names šêm הַכְּמָרִ֖ים of the idolatrous hak·kə·mā·rîm עִם־ and ‘im- הַכֹּהֲנִֽים׃ [pagan] priests — hak·kō·hă·nîm Zephaniah 1:5 וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- הַמִּשְׁתַּחֲוִ֥ים those who bow ham·miš·ta·ḥă·wîm עַל־ on ‘al- הַגַּגּ֖וֹת the rooftops hag·gag·gō·wṯ לִצְבָ֣א {to worship} the host liṣ·ḇā הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם of heaven , haš·šā·mā·yim וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- הַמִּֽשְׁתַּחֲוִים֙ those who bow down ham·miš·ta·ḥă·wîm הַנִּשְׁבָּעִ֣ים and swear han·niš·bā·‘îm לַֽיהוָ֔ה by YHWH Yah·weh וְהַנִּשְׁבָּעִ֖ים but also swear wə·han·niš·bā·‘îm בְּמַלְכָּֽם׃ by Milcom , bə·mal·kām Zephaniah 1:6 וְאֶת־ and wə·’eṯ- הַנְּסוֹגִ֖ים those who turn back han·nə·sō·w·ḡîm מֵאַחֲרֵ֣י from [following] mê·’a·ḥă·rê יְהוָ֑ה YHWH , Yah·weh וַאֲשֶׁ֛ר - wa·’ă·šer לֹֽא־ neither lō- בִקְשׁ֥וּ seeking ḇiq·šū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוָ֖ה YHWH Yah·weh וְלֹ֥א nor wə·lō דְרָשֻֽׁהוּ׃ inquiring of Him . ” ḏə·rā·šu·hū
