הָאָ֛רֶץ the earth hā·’ā·reṣ בַעֲדִ֖י beneath me ḇa·‘ă·ḏî בְּרִחֶ֥יהָ barred me in bə·ri·ḥe·hā לְעוֹלָ֑ם forever ! lə·‘ō·w·lām וַתַּ֧עַל But You raised wat·ta·‘al חַיַּ֖י my life ḥay·yay מִשַּׁ֛חַת from the pit , miš·ša·ḥaṯ יְהוָ֥ה O YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהָֽי׃ my God ! ’ĕ·lō·hāy Jonah 2:7 נַפְשִׁ֔י As my life nap̄·šî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בְּהִתְעַטֵּ֤ף was fading away bə·hiṯ·‘aṭ·ṭêp̄ עָלַי֙ . . . , ‘ā·lay זָכָ֑רְתִּי I remembered zā·ḵā·rə·tî יְהוָ֖ה YHWH . Yah·weh תְּפִלָּתִ֔י My prayer tə·p̄il·lā·ṯî וַתָּב֤וֹא went up wat·tā·ḇō·w אֵלֶ֙יךָ֙ to You , ’ê·le·ḵā אֶל־ to ’el- קָדְשֶֽׁךָ׃ Your holy qāḏ·še·ḵā הֵיכַ֖ל temple . hê·ḵal Jonah 2:8 מְשַׁמְּרִ֖ים Those who cling to mə·šam·mə·rîm שָׁ֑וְא worthless šāw הַבְלֵי־ idols haḇ·lê- יַעֲזֹֽבוּ׃ forsake ya·‘ă·zō·ḇū חַסְדָּ֖ם [His] loving devotion . ḥas·dām Jonah 2:9 וַאֲנִ֗י But I , wa·’ă·nî בְּק֤וֹל with the voice bə·qō·wl תּוֹדָה֙ of thanksgiving , tō·w·ḏāh אֶזְבְּחָה־ will sacrifice ’ez·bə·ḥāh- לָּ֔ךְ to You . lāḵ אֲשַׁלֵּ֑מָה I will fulfill ’ă·šal·lê·māh אֲשֶׁ֥ר what ’ă·šer נָדַ֖רְתִּי I have vowed . nā·ḏar·tî יְשׁוּעָ֖תָה Salvation yə·šū·‘ā·ṯāh לַיהוָֽה׃ס is from YHWH ! ” Yah·weh Jonah 2:10 יְהוָ֖ה And YHWH Yah·weh וַיֹּ֥אמֶר commanded way·yō·mer לַדָּ֑ג the fish , lad·dāḡ וַיָּקֵ֥א and it vomited way·yā·qê אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יוֹנָ֖ה Jonah yō·w·nāh אֶל־ onto ’el- הַיַּבָּשָֽׁה׃פ dry land . hay·yab·bā·šāh Jonah 3:1 דְבַר־ Then the word ḏə·ḇar- יְהוָ֛ה of YHWH Yah·weh וַיְהִ֧י came way·hî אֶל־ to ’el- יוֹנָ֖ה Jonah yō·w·nāh שֵׁנִ֥ית a second time šê·nîṯ לֵאמֹֽר׃ . . . : lê·mōr Jonah 3:2 ק֛וּם “ Get up ! qūm לֵ֥ךְ Go lêḵ אֶל־ to ’el- הַגְּדוֹלָ֑ה the great hag·gə·ḏō·w·lāh הָעִ֣יר city hā·‘îr נִֽינְוֵ֖ה of Nineveh nî·nə·wêh וִּקְרָ֤א and proclaim wiq·rå̄ אֵלֶ֙יהָ֙ to it ’ê·le·hā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַקְּרִיאָ֔ה the message haq·qə·rî·’āh אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ’ă·šer אָנֹכִ֖י I ’ā·nō·ḵî דֹּבֵ֥ר give dō·ḇêr אֵלֶֽיךָ׃ you . ” ’ê·le·ḵā Jonah 3:3 יוֹנָ֗ה This time Jonah yō·w·nāh וַיָּ֣קָם got up way·yā·qām וַיֵּ֛לֶךְ and went way·yê·leḵ אֶל־ to ’el- נִֽינְוֶ֖ה Nineveh , nī·nə·wɛh כִּדְבַ֣ר in accordance with the word kiḏ·ḇar יְהוָ֑ה of YHWH . Yah·weh וְנִֽינְוֵ֗ה Now Nineveh wə·nî·nə·wêh הָיְתָ֤ה was hā·yə·ṯāh לֵֽאלֹהִ֔ים an exceedingly lê·lō·hîm גְּדוֹלָה֙ great gə·ḏō·w·lāh עִיר־ city , ‘îr- שְׁלֹ֥שֶׁת [requiring] a three-day šə·lō·šeṯ יָמִֽים׃ . . . yā·mîm
