Lamentations 1:7 יְמֵ֤י In the days yə·mê עָנְיָהּ֙ of her affliction ‘ā·nə·yāh וּמְרוּדֶ֔יהָ and wandering ū·mə·rū·ḏe·hā יְרוּשָׁלִַ֗ם Jerusalem yə·rū·šā·lim זָֽכְרָ֣ה remembers zā·ḵə·rāh כֹּ֚ל all kōl מַחֲמֻדֶ֔יהָ the treasures ma·ḥă·mu·ḏe·hā אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ’ă·šer הָי֖וּ were hers hā·yū מִ֣ימֵי in days mî·mê קֶ֑דֶם of old . qe·ḏem עַמָּ֣הּ When her people ‘am·māh בִּנְפֹ֧ל fell bin·p̄ōl צָ֗ר into enemy ṣār בְּיַד־ hands bə·yaḏ- וְאֵ֤ין she received no wə·’ên עוֹזֵר֙ help ‘ō·w·zêr לָ֔הּ - . lāh צָרִ֔ים Her enemies ṣā·rîm רָא֣וּהָ looked upon her , rā·’ū·hā שָׂחֲק֖וּ laughing śā·ḥă·qū עַ֥ל at ‘al מִשְׁבַּתֶּֽהָ׃ס her downfall . miš·bat·te·hā Lamentations 1:8 יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם Jerusalem yə·rū·šā·lim חֵ֤טְא has sinned greatly ḥêṭ חָֽטְאָה֙ . . . ; ḥā·ṭə·’āh עַל־ therefore ‘al- כֵּ֖ן . . . kên הָיָ֑תָה she has become hā·yā·ṯāh לְנִידָ֣ה an object of scorn . lə·nî·ḏāh כָּֽל־ All kāl- מְכַבְּדֶ֤יהָ who honored her mə·ḵab·bə·ḏe·hā הִזִּיל֙וּהָ֙ now despise her , hiz·zî·lū·hā כִּי־ for kî- רָא֣וּ they have seen rā·’ū עֶרְוָתָ֔הּ her nakedness ‘er·wā·ṯāh גַּם־ . . . ; gam- הִ֥יא she herself hî נֶאֶנְחָ֖ה groans ne·’en·ḥāh וַתָּ֥שָׁב and turns wat·tā·šāḇ אָחֽוֹר׃ס away . ’ā·ḥō·wr Lamentations 1:9 טֻמְאָתָ֣הּ Her uncleanness ṭum·’ā·ṯāh בְּשׁוּלֶ֗יהָ stains her skirts ; bə·šū·le·hā לֹ֤א she did not lō זָֽכְרָה֙ consider zā·ḵə·rāh אַחֲרִיתָ֔הּ her end . ’a·ḥă·rî·ṯāh וַתֵּ֣רֶד Her downfall wat·tê·reḏ פְּלָאִ֔ים was astounding ; pə·lā·’îm אֵ֥ין there was no one ’ên מְנַחֵ֖ם to comfort mə·na·ḥêm לָ֑הּ her . lāh רְאֵ֤ה Look , rə·’êh יְהוָה֙ O YHWH , Yah·weh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עָנְיִ֔י on my affliction , ‘ā·nə·yî כִּ֥י for kî אוֹיֵֽב׃ס the enemy ’ō·w·yêḇ הִגְדִּ֖יל has triumphed ! hiḡ·dîl Lamentations 1:10 צָ֔ר The adversary ṣār יָדוֹ֙ has seized yā·ḏōw פָּ֣רַשׂ . . . pā·raś עַ֖ל . . . ‘al כָּל־ all kāl- מַחֲמַדֶּ֑יהָ her treasures . ma·ḥă·mad·de·hā כִּֽי־ For kî- רָאֲתָ֤ה she has seen rā·’ă·ṯāh גוֹיִם֙ the nations ḡō·w·yim בָּ֣אוּ enter bā·’ū מִקְדָּשָׁ֔הּ her sanctuary — miq·dā·šāh אֲשֶׁ֣ר those ’ă·šer צִוִּ֔יתָה You had forbidden ṣiw·wî·ṯāh לֹא־ . . . lō- יָבֹ֥אוּ to enter yā·ḇō·’ū בַקָּהָ֖ל Your assembly ḇaq·qā·hāl לָֽךְ׃ס . lāḵ Lamentations 1:11 כָּל־ All kāl- עַמָּ֤הּ her people ‘am·māh נֶאֱנָחִים֙ groan ne·’ĕ·nā·ḥîm מְבַקְּשִׁ֣ים as they search mə·ḇaq·qə·šîm לֶ֔חֶם for bread . le·ḥem נָתְנ֧וּ They have traded nā·ṯə·nū מַחֲמוֹדֵּיהֶם their treasures ma·ḥă·mōd·dē·hɛm בְּאֹ֖כֶל for food bə·’ō·ḵel לְהָשִׁ֣יב to keep themselves alive lə·hā·šîḇ נָ֑פֶשׁ . . . . nā·p̄eš רְאֵ֤ה Look , rə·’êh
