Jeremiah 6:22 כֹּ֚ה This is what kōh יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh אָמַ֣ר says : ’ā·mar הִנֵּ֛ה “ Behold , hin·nêh עַ֥ם an army ‘am בָּ֖א is coming bā מֵאֶ֣רֶץ from the land mê·’e·reṣ צָפ֑וֹן of the north ; ṣā·p̄ō·wn גָּד֔וֹל a great gā·ḏō·wl וְג֣וֹי nation wə·ḡō·w יֵע֖וֹר is stirred up yê·‘ō·wr מִיַּרְכְּתֵי־ from the ends mî·yar·kə·ṯê- אָֽרֶץ׃ of the earth . ’ā·reṣ Jeremiah 6:23 יַחֲזִ֗יקוּ They grasp ya·ḥă·zî·qū קֶ֣שֶׁת the bow qe·šeṯ וְכִיד֞וֹן and spear ; wə·ḵî·ḏō·wn הוּא֙ they [are] hū אַכְזָרִ֥י cruel ’aḵ·zā·rî וְלֹ֣א vvv wə·lō יְרַחֵ֔מוּ and merciless . yə·ra·ḥê·mū קוֹלָם֙ Their voice qō·w·lām יֶהֱמֶ֔ה roars ye·hĕ·meh כַּיָּ֣ם like the sea , kay·yām יִרְכָּ֑בוּ and they ride yir·kā·ḇū וְעַל־ upon wə·‘al- סוּסִ֖ים horses , sū·sîm עָר֗וּךְ lined up ‘ā·rūḵ כְּאִישׁ֙ like men kə·’îš לַמִּלְחָמָ֔ה in formation lam·mil·ḥā·māh עָלַ֖יִךְ against you , ‘ā·la·yiḵ בַּת־ O Daughter baṯ- צִיּֽוֹן׃ of Zion . ” ṣî·yō·wn Jeremiah 6:24 שָׁמַ֥עְנוּ We have heard šā·ma‘·nū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- שָׁמְע֖וֹ the report ; šā·mə·‘ōw יָדֵ֑ינוּ our hands yā·ḏê·nū רָפ֣וּ hang limp . rā·p̄ū צָרָה֙ Anguish ṣā·rāh הֶחֱזִיקַ֔תְנוּ has gripped us , he·ḥĕ·zî·qaṯ·nū חִ֖יל pain ḥîl כַּיּוֹלֵדָֽה׃ like that of a woman in labor . kay·yō·w·lê·ḏāh Jeremiah 6:25 אַל־ Do not ’al- תֵּצְאִי go out tē·ṣə·ʾī הַשָּׂדֶ֔ה to the fields ; haś·śā·ḏeh אַל־ do not ’al- תֵּלֵכִי walk tē·lē·ḵī וּבַדֶּ֖רֶךְ the road . ū·ḇad·de·reḵ כִּ֚י For kî לְאֹיֵ֔ב the enemy lə·’ō·yêḇ חֶ֣רֶב has a sword ; ḥe·reḇ מָג֖וֹר terror mā·ḡō·wr מִסָּבִֽיב׃ is on every side . mis·sā·ḇîḇ Jeremiah 6:26 בַּת־ O daughter baṯ- עַמִּ֤י of my people , ‘am·mî חִגְרִי־ dress ḥiḡ·rî- שָׂק֙ yourselves in sackcloth śāq וְהִתְפַּלְּשִׁ֣י and roll wə·hiṯ·pal·lə·šî בָאֵ֔פֶר in ashes . ḇā·’ê·p̄er אֵ֤בֶל Mourn ’ê·ḇel תַּמְרוּרִ֑ים with bitter tam·rū·rîm מִסְפַּ֖ד wailing , mis·paḏ עֲשִׂ֣י as you would ‘ă·śî לָ֔ךְ lāḵ יָחִיד֙ for an only son , yā·ḥîḏ כִּ֣י for kî פִתְאֹ֔ם suddenly p̄iṯ·’ōm הַשֹּׁדֵ֖ד the destroyer haš·šō·ḏêḏ יָבֹ֥א will come yā·ḇō עָלֵֽינוּ׃ upon us . ‘ā·lê·nū Jeremiah 6:27 נְתַתִּ֥יךָ “ I have appointed you nə·ṯat·tî·ḵā בָּח֛וֹן to examine bā·ḥō·wn בְעַמִּ֖י My people ḇə·‘am·mî מִבְצָ֑ר like ore , miḇ·ṣār וְתֵדַ֕ע so you may know wə·ṯê·ḏa‘ וּבָחַנְתָּ֖ and try ū·ḇā·ḥan·tā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- דַּרְכָּֽם׃ their ways . dar·kām Jeremiah 6:28 כֻּלָּם֙ All kul·lām סֽוֹרְרִ֔ים are hardened sō·wr·rîm
