וַיִּמְצָא֙ and found way·yim·ṣā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- מֶ֣לֶךְ the king me·leḵ אַשּׁ֔וּר - ’aš·šūr נִלְחָ֖ם fighting nil·ḥām עַל־ against ‘al- לִבְנָ֑ה Libnah . liḇ·nāh Isaiah 37:9 וַיִּשְׁמַ֗ע Now Sennacherib had been warned way·yiš·ma‘ עַל־ about ‘al- תִּרְהָ֤קָה Tirhakah tir·hā·qāh מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- כּוּשׁ֙ of Cush kūš לֵאמֹ֔ר - : lê·mōr יָצָ֖א “ He has set out yā·ṣā לְהִלָּחֵ֣ם to fight lə·hil·lā·ḥêm אִתָּ֑ךְ against you . ” ’it·tāḵ וַיִּשְׁמַע֙ On hearing this , way·yiš·ma‘ וַיִּשְׁלַ֣ח Sennacherib sent way·yiš·laḥ מַלְאָכִ֔ים messengers mal·’ā·ḵîm אֶל־ to ’el- חִזְקִיָּ֖הוּ Hezekiah , ḥiz·qî·yā·hū לֵאמֹֽר׃ saying , lê·mōr Isaiah 37:10 תֹאמְר֗וּן “ Give this message ṯō·mə·rūn כֹּ֣ה . . . kōh אֶל־ to ’el- חִזְקִיָּ֤הוּ Hezekiah ḥiz·qî·yā·hū מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- יְהוּדָה֙ of Judah yə·hū·ḏāh לֵאמֹ֔ר - : lê·mōr אַל־ ‘ Do not ’al- אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ let your God , ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā אֲשֶׁ֥ר in whom ’ă·šer אַתָּ֛ה you ’at·tāh בּוֹטֵ֥חַ trust bō·w·ṭê·aḥ בּ֖וֹ , bōw יַשִּֽׁאֲךָ֣ deceive you yaš·ši·’ă·ḵā לֵאמֹ֑ר by saying lê·mōr יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם that Jerusalem yə·rū·šā·lim לֹ֤א will not lō תִנָּתֵן֙ be delivered ṯin·nā·ṯên בְּיַ֖ד into the hand bə·yaḏ מֶ֥לֶךְ of the king me·leḵ אַשּֽׁוּר׃ of Assyria . ’aš·šūr Isaiah 37:11 הִנֵּ֣ה׀ Surely hin·nêh אַתָּ֣ה you ’at·tāh שָׁמַ֗עְתָּ have heard šā·ma‘·tā אֲשֶׁ֨ר what ’ă·šer מַלְכֵ֥י the kings mal·ḵê אַשּׁ֛וּר of Assyria ’aš·šūr עָשׂ֜וּ have done ‘ā·śū לְכָל־ to all [the other] lə·ḵāl הָאֲרָצ֖וֹת countries , hā·’ă·rā·ṣō·wṯ לְהַחֲרִימָ֑ם devoting them to destruction . lə·ha·ḥă·rî·mām וְאַתָּ֖ה Will you then wə·’at·tāh תִּנָּצֵֽל׃ be spared ? tin·nā·ṣêl Isaiah 37:12 אֱלֹהֵ֤י Did the gods ’ĕ·lō·hê הַגּוֹיִם֙ of the nations hag·gō·w·yim אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer הִשְׁחִ֣יתוּ destroyed hiš·ḥî·ṯū אֲבוֹתַ֔י by my fathers ’ă·ḇō·w·ṯay אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַהִצִּ֨ילוּ rescue [those nations] — ha·hiṣ·ṣî·lū אוֹתָ֜ם [the gods of] ’ō·w·ṯām גּוֹזָ֖ן Gozan , gō·w·zān וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- חָרָ֑ן Haran , ḥā·rān וְרֶ֥צֶף and Rezeph , wə·re·ṣep̄ וּבְנֵי־ and of the people ū·ḇə·nê- עֶ֖דֶן of Eden ‘e·ḏen אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer בִּתְלַשָּֽׂר׃ in Telassar ? biṯ·laś·śār Isaiah 37:13 אַיֵּ֤ה Where ’ay·yêh מֶֽלֶךְ־ are the kings me·leḵ- חֲמָת֙ of Hamath , ḥă·māṯ וּמֶ֣לֶךְ - ū·me·leḵ אַרְפָּ֔ד Arpad , ’ar·pāḏ וּמֶ֖לֶךְ - ū·me·leḵ לָעִ֣יר vvv lā·‘îr סְפַרְוָ֑יִם Sepharvaim , sə·p̄ar·wā·yim הֵנַ֖ע Hena , hê·na‘ וְעִוָּֽה׃ and Ivvah ? ’” wə·‘iw·wāh Isaiah 37:14 חִזְקִיָּ֧הוּ So Hezekiah ḥiz·qî·yā·hū
