Proverbs 25:3 שָׁמַ֣יִם As the heavens šā·ma·yim לָ֭רוּם are high lā·rūm וָאָ֣רֶץ and the earth wā·’ā·reṣ לָעֹ֑מֶק is deep , lā·‘ō·meq וְלֵ֥ב so the hearts wə·lêḇ מְ֝לָכִ֗ים of kings mə·lā·ḵîm אֵ֣ין cannot ’ên חֵֽקֶר׃ be searched . ḥê·qer Proverbs 25:4 הָג֣וֹ Remove hā·ḡōw סִיגִ֣ים the dross sî·ḡîm מִכָּ֑סֶף from the silver , mik·kā·sep̄ כֶּֽלִי׃ and a vessel ke·lî לַצֹּרֵ֣ף for a silversmith laṣ·ṣō·rêp̄ וַיֵּצֵ֖א will come forth . way·yê·ṣê Proverbs 25:5 הָג֣וֹ Remove hā·ḡōw רָ֭שָׁע the wicked rā·šā‘ מֶ֑לֶךְ from the king’s me·leḵ לִפְנֵי־ presence , lip̄·nê- כִּסְאֽוֹ׃ and his throne kis·’ōw וְיִכּ֖וֹן will be established wə·yik·kō·wn בַּצֶּ֣דֶק in righteousness . baṣ·ṣe·ḏeq Proverbs 25:6 אַל־ Do not ’al- תִּתְהַדַּ֥ר exalt yourself tiṯ·had·dar לִפְנֵי־ in the presence lip̄·nê- מֶ֑לֶךְ of the king , me·leḵ אַֽל־ and do not ’al- תַּעֲמֹֽד׃ stand ta·‘ă·mōḏ וּבִמְק֥וֹם in the place ū·ḇim·qō·wm גְּ֝דֹלִ֗ים of great [men] ; gə·ḏō·lîm Proverbs 25:7 כִּ֤י for kî ט֥וֹב it is better ṭō·wḇ אֲמָר־ that he says ’ă·mār- לְךָ֗ to you , lə·ḵā עֲ “ Come up ‘ălêh הֵ֥נָּה here ! ” hên·nāh מֵֽ֭הַשְׁפִּ֣ילְךָ than that you should be demoted mê·haš·pî·lə·ḵā לִפְנֵ֣י in the presence lip̄·nê נָדִ֑יב of the prince . nā·ḏîḇ אֲשֶׁ֖ר Even what ’ă·šer רָא֣וּ you have seen rā·’ū עֵינֶֽיךָ׃ with your own eyes , ‘ê·ne·ḵā Proverbs 25:8 אַל־ do not ’al- תֵּצֵ֥א bring tê·ṣê מַ֫הֵ֥ר hastily ma·hêr לָרִ֗ב to court . lā·riḇ פֶּ֣ן Otherwise , pen מַה־ what mah- תַּ֭עֲשֶׂה will you do ta·‘ă·śeh בְּאַחֲרִיתָ֑הּ in the end bə·’a·ḥă·rî·ṯāh רֵעֶֽךָ׃ when your neighbor rê·‘e·ḵā בְּהַכְלִ֖ים puts you to shame bə·haḵ·lîm אֹתְךָ֣ - ? ’ō·ṯə·ḵā Proverbs 25:9 רִֽ֭יבְךָ Argue rî·ḇə·ḵā רִ֣יב your case rîḇ אֶת־ with ’eṯ- רֵעֶ֑ךָ your neighbor rê·‘e·ḵā אַל־ without ’al- תְּגָֽל׃ betraying tə·ḡāl אַחֵ֣ר another’s ’a·ḥêr וְס֖וֹד confidence , wə·sō·wḏ Proverbs 25:10 פֶּֽן־ lest pen- שֹׁמֵ֑עַ the one who hears šō·mê·a‘ יְחַסֶּדְךָ֥ may disgrace you , yə·ḥas·seḏ·ḵā וְ֝דִבָּתְךָ֗ and your infamy wə·ḏib·bā·ṯə·ḵā לֹ֣א never lō תָשֽׁוּב׃ go away . ṯā·šūḇ Proverbs 25:11 דָּ֝בָ֗ר A word dā·ḇār עַל־ vvv ‘al- אָפְנָֽיו׃ fitly ’ā·p̄ə·nāw דָּבֻ֥ר spoken dā·ḇur תַּפּוּחֵ֣י [is like] apples tap·pū·ḥê זָ֭הָב of gold zā·hāḇ בְּמַשְׂכִּיּ֥וֹת in settings bə·maś·kî·yō·wṯ
