זִקְנֵ֖י the elders ziq·nê בְּנֵ֥י vvv bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ of the Israelites , yiś·rā·’êl Exodus 4:30 אַהֲרֹ֔ן and Aaron ’a·hă·rōn אֵ֚ת - ’êṯ וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר relayed way·ḏab·bêr כָּל־ everything kāl- הַדְּבָרִ֔ים . . . had·də·ḇā·rîm אֲשֶׁר־ . . . ’ă·šer- יְהוָ֖ה YHWH Yah·weh דִּבֶּ֥ר had said dib·ber אֶל־ to ’el- מֹשֶׁ֑ה Moses . mō·šeh וַיַּ֥עַשׂ And [Moses] performed way·ya·‘aś הָאֹתֹ֖ת the signs hā·’ō·ṯōṯ לְעֵינֵ֥י before lə·‘ê·nê הָעָֽם׃ the people , hā·‘ām Exodus 4:31 הָעָ֑ם and [they] hā·‘ām וַֽיַּאֲמֵ֖ן believed . way·ya·’ă·mên וַֽיִּשְׁמְע֡וּ And when they heard way·yiš·mə·‘ū כִּֽי־ that kî- יְהוָ֜ה YHWH Yah·weh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- פָקַ֨ד had attended p̄ā·qaḏ בְּנֵ֣י to the Israelites bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל . . . yiś·rā·’êl וְכִ֤י and wə·ḵî רָאָה֙ had seen rā·’āh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עָנְיָ֔ם their affliction , ‘ā·nə·yām וַֽיִּקְּד֖וּ they bowed down way·yiq·qə·ḏū וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲוּֽוּ׃ and worshiped . way·yiš·ta·ḥăw·wū Exodus 5:1 וְאַחַ֗ר After that , wə·’a·ḥar מֹשֶׁ֣ה Moses mō·šeh וְאַהֲרֹ֔ן and Aaron wə·’a·hă·rōn בָּ֚אוּ went bā·’ū אֶל־ to ’el- פַּרְעֹ֑ה Pharaoh par·‘ōh וַיֹּאמְר֖וּ and said , way·yō·mə·rū כֹּֽה־ “ This is what kōh- יְהוָה֙ YHWH , Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֣י the God ’ĕ·lō·hê יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel , yiś·rā·’êl אָמַ֤ר says : ’ā·mar עַמִּ֔י ‘ Let My people ‘am·mî שַׁלַּח֙ go , šal·laḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וְיָחֹ֥גּוּ so that they may hold a feast wə·yā·ḥōg·gū לִ֖י to Me lî בַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃ in the wilderness . ’” bam·miḏ·bār Exodus 5:2 פַּרְעֹ֔ה But Pharaoh par·‘ōh וַיֹּ֣אמֶר replied , way·yō·mer מִ֤י “ Who mî יְהוָה֙ is YHWH Yah·weh אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ’ă·šer אֶשְׁמַ֣ע I should obey ’eš·ma‘ בְּקֹל֔וֹ His voice bə·qō·lōw יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל [and] let Israel yiś·rā·’êl לְשַׁלַּ֖ח go ? lə·šal·laḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- לֹ֤א I do not lō יָדַ֙עְתִּי֙ know yā·ḏa‘·tî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוָ֔ה YHWH , Yah·weh וְגַ֥ם and wə·ḡam אֶת־ - ’eṯ- לֹ֥א I will not lō יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל let Israel yiś·rā·’êl אֲשַׁלֵּֽחַ׃ go . ” ’ă·šal·lê·aḥ Exodus 5:3 אֱלֹהֵ֥י “ The God ’ĕ·lō·hê הָעִבְרִ֖ים of the Hebrews hā·‘iḇ·rîm נִקְרָ֣א has met niq·rā עָלֵ֑ינוּ with us , ” ‘ā·lê·nū וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ they answered . way·yō·mə·rū נָּ֡א “ Please nā נֵ֣לֲכָה let us go on nê·lă·ḵāh שְׁלֹ֨שֶׁת a three-day šə·lō·šeṯ יָמִ֜ים . . . yā·mîm דֶּרֶךְ֩ journey de·reḵ בַּמִּדְבָּ֗ר into the wilderness bam·miḏ·bār וְנִזְבְּחָה֙ to sacrifice wə·niz·bə·ḥāh לַֽיהוָ֣ה to YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ our God , ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū פֶּ֨ן־ or pen- יִפְגָּעֵ֔נוּ He may strike us yip̄·gā·‘ê·nū
