בְכֹרִ֖י is My firstborn ḇə·ḵō·rî בְּנִ֥י son , bə·nî Exodus 4:23 וָאֹמַ֣ר and I told you wā·’ō·mar אֵלֶ֗יךָ . . . ’ê·le·ḵā בְּנִי֙ to let My son bə·nî שַׁלַּ֤ח go šal·laḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וְיַֽעַבְדֵ֔נִי so that he may worship Me . wə·ya·‘aḇ·ḏê·nî וַתְּמָאֵ֖ן But [since] you have refused wat·tə·mā·’ên לְשַׁלְּח֑וֹ to let him go , lə·šal·lə·ḥōw הִנֵּה֙ behold , hin·nêh אָנֹכִ֣י I ’ā·nō·ḵî הֹרֵ֔ג will kill hō·rêḡ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בְּכֹרֶֽךָ׃ your firstborn bə·ḵō·re·ḵā בִּנְךָ֖ son ! ’” bin·ḵā Exodus 4:24 בַּמָּל֑וֹן Now at a lodging place bam·mā·lō·wn בַדֶּ֖רֶךְ along the way , ḇad·de·reḵ וַיְהִ֥י vvv way·hî יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh וַיִּפְגְּשֵׁ֣הוּ met [Moses] way·yip̄·gə·šê·hū וַיְבַקֵּ֖שׁ and was about way·ḇaq·qêš הֲמִיתֽוֹ׃ to kill him . hă·mî·ṯōw Exodus 4:25 צִפֹּרָ֜ה But Zipporah ṣip·pō·rāh וַתִּקַּ֨ח took wat·tiq·qaḥ צֹ֗ר a flint knife , ṣōr וַתִּכְרֹת֙ cut off wat·tiḵ·rōṯ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בְּנָ֔הּ her son’s bə·nāh עָרְלַ֣ת foreskin , ‘ā·rə·laṯ וַתַּגַּ֖ע and touched it wat·tag·ga‘ לְרַגְלָ֑יו to [Moses’] feet . lə·raḡ·lāw כִּ֧י “ Surely kî אַתָּ֖ה you [are] ’at·tāh חֲתַן־ a bridegroom ḥă·ṯan- דָּמִ֛ים of blood dā·mîm לִֽי׃ to me , ” lî וַתֹּ֕אמֶר she said . wat·tō·mer Exodus 4:26 וַיִּ֖רֶף So [YHWH] let him alone . way·yi·rep̄ מִמֶּ֑נּוּ . . . mim·men·nū אָ֚ז ( When ’āz אָֽמְרָ֔ה she said , ’ā·mə·rāh חֲתַ֥ן “ bridegroom ḥă·ṯan דָּמִ֖ים of blood , ” dā·mîm לַמּוּלֹֽת׃פ she was referring to the circumcision . ) lam·mū·lōṯ Exodus 4:27 יְהוָה֙ Meanwhile, YHWH Yah·weh וַיֹּ֤אמֶר had said way·yō·mer אֶֽל־ to ’el- אַהֲרֹ֔ן Aaron , ’a·hă·rōn לֵ֛ךְ “ Go lêḵ לִקְרַ֥את and meet liq·raṯ מֹשֶׁ֖ה Moses mō·šeh הַמִּדְבָּ֑רָה in the wilderness . ” ham·miḏ·bā·rāh וַיֵּ֗לֶךְ So he went way·yê·leḵ וַֽיִּפְגְּשֵׁ֛הוּ and met [Moses] way·yip̄·gə·šê·hū בְּהַ֥ר at the mountain bə·har הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים of God hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm וַיִּשַּׁק־ and kissed way·yiš·šaq- לֽוֹ׃ him . lōw Exodus 4:28 מֹשֶׁה֙ And Moses mō·šeh וַיַּגֵּ֤ד told way·yag·gêḏ לְאַֽהֲרֹ֔ן Aaron lə·’a·hă·rōn אֵ֛ת - ’êṯ כָּל־ everything kāl- דִּבְרֵ֥י . . . diḇ·rê יְהוָ֖ה YHWH Yah·weh אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer שְׁלָח֑וֹ had sent him šə·lā·ḥōw וְאֵ֥ת to say , wə·’êṯ כָּל־ and all kāl- הָאֹתֹ֖ת the signs hā·’ō·ṯōṯ אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer צִוָּֽהוּ׃ He had commanded him to perform . ṣiw·wā·hū Exodus 4:29 מֹשֶׁ֖ה Then Moses mō·šeh וְאַהֲרֹ֑ן and Aaron wə·’a·hă·rōn וַיֵּ֥לֶךְ went way·yê·leḵ וַיַּ֣אַסְפ֔וּ and assembled way·ya·’as·p̄ū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- כָּל־ all kāl-
