וּמַרְפֵּ֥א and healing ū·mar·pê לָעָֽצֶם׃ to the bones . lā·‘ā·ṣem Proverbs 16:25 יֵ֤שׁ There is yêš דֶּ֣רֶךְ a way de·reḵ יָ֭שָׁר that seems right yā·šār לִפְנֵי־ to lip̄·nê- אִ֑ישׁ a man , ’îš וְ֝אַחֲרִיתָ֗הּ but its end wə·’a·ḥă·rî·ṯāh דַּרְכֵי־ is the way dar·ḵê- מָֽוֶת׃ of death . mā·weṯ Proverbs 16:26 עָ֭מֵל A worker’s ‘ā·mêl נֶ֣פֶשׁ appetite ne·p̄eš עָ֣מְלָה works ‘ā·mə·lāh לּ֑וֹ for him lōw כִּֽי־ because kî- פִּֽיהוּ׃ his hunger pî·hū אָכַ֖ף drives him ’ā·ḵap̄ עָלָ֣יו onward . ‘ā·lāw Proverbs 16:27 בְּ֭לִיַּעַל A worthless bə·lî·ya·‘al אִ֣ישׁ man ’îš כֹּרֶ֣ה digs up kō·reh רָעָ֑ה evil , rā·‘āh וְעַל־ vvv wə·‘al- שְׂפָתָיו and his speech śə·p̄å̄·ṯå̄w צָרָֽבֶת׃ is like a scorching ṣā·rā·ḇeṯ כְּאֵ֣שׁ fire . kə·’êš Proverbs 16:28 תַּ֭הְפֻּכוֹת A perverse tah·pu·ḵō·wṯ אִ֣ישׁ man ’îš יְשַׁלַּ֣ח spreads yə·šal·laḥ מָד֑וֹן dissension , mā·ḏō·wn וְ֝נִרְגָּ֗ן and a gossip wə·nir·gå̄n מַפְרִ֥יד divides map̄·rîḏ אַלּֽוּף׃ close friends . ’al·lūp̄ Proverbs 16:29 חָ֭מָס A violent ḥā·mās אִ֣ישׁ man ’îš יְפַתֶּ֣ה entices yə·p̄at·teh רֵעֵ֑הוּ his neighbor rê·‘ê·hū וְ֝הוֹלִיכ֗וֹ and leads him wə·hō·w·lî·ḵōw בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ down a path bə·ḏe·reḵ לֹא־ [that is] not lō- טֽוֹב׃ good . ṭō·wḇ Proverbs 16:30 עֹצֶ֣ה He who winks ‘ō·ṣeh עֵ֭ינָיו his eye ‘ê·nāw לַחְשֹׁ֣ב devises laḥ·šōḇ תַּהְפֻּכ֑וֹת perversity ; tah·pu·ḵō·wṯ קֹרֵ֥ץ he who purses qō·rêṣ שְׂ֝פָתָ֗יו his lips p̄ā·ṯāw כִּלָּ֥ה is bent on kil·lāh רָעָֽה׃ evil . rā·‘āh Proverbs 16:31 שֵׂיבָ֑ה Gray hair śê·ḇāh עֲטֶ֣רֶת [is] a crown ‘ă·ṭe·reṯ תִּפְאֶ֣רֶת of glory ; tip̄·’e·reṯ תִּמָּצֵֽא׃ it is attained tim·mā·ṣê בְּדֶ֥רֶךְ along the path bə·ḏe·reḵ צְ֝דָקָ֗ה of righteousness . ṣə·ḏā·qāh Proverbs 16:32 אֶ֣רֶךְ [He who is] slow ’e·reḵ אַ֭פַּיִם to anger ’ap·pa·yim ט֤וֹב [is] better ṭō·wḇ מִגִּבּ֑וֹר than a warrior , mig·gib·bō·wr וּמֹשֵׁ֥ל and he who controls ū·mō·šêl בְּ֝רוּח֗וֹ his temper [is greater] bə·rū·ḥōw מִלֹּכֵ֥ד than one who captures mil·lō·ḵêḏ עִֽיר׃ a city . ‘îr Proverbs 16:33 הַגּוֹרָ֑ל The lot hag·gō·w·rāl יוּטַ֣ל is cast yū·ṭal אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בַּ֭חֵיק into the lap , ba·ḥêq כָּל־ but its every kāl- מִשְׁפָּטֽוֹ׃ decision miš·pā·ṭōw וּ֝מֵיְהוָ֗ה is from YHWH .
