Proverbs 9:4 מִי־ “ Whoever mî- פֶ֭תִי [is] simple , p̄e·ṯî יָסֻ֣ר let him turn in yā·sur הֵ֑נָּה here ! ” hên·nāh אָ֣מְרָה she says ’ā·mə·rāh לּֽוֹ׃ to him lōw חֲסַר־ who lacks ḥă·sar- לֵ֝֗ב judgment . lêḇ Proverbs 9:5 לְ֭כוּ “ Come , lə·ḵū לַחֲמ֣וּ eat la·ḥă·mū בְֽלַחֲמִ֑י my bread ḇə·la·ḥă·mî וּ֝שְׁת֗וּ and drink ū·šə·ṯū בְּיַ֣יִן the wine bə·ya·yin מָסָֽכְתִּי׃ I have mixed . mā·sā·ḵə·tî Proverbs 9:6 פְתָאיִ֣ם Leave your folly p̄ə·ṯā·yim עִזְב֣וּ behind , ‘iz·ḇū וִֽחְי֑וּ and you will live ; wiḥ·yū וְ֝אִשְׁר֗וּ walk wə·’iš·rū בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ in the way bə·ḏe·reḵ בִּינָֽה׃ of understanding . ” bî·nāh Proverbs 9:7 יֹ֤סֵ֨ר׀ He who corrects yō·sêr לֵ֗ץ a mocker lêṣ לֹקֵ֣חַֽ brings lō·qê·aḥ קָל֑וֹן shame qā·lō·wn ל֣וֹ on himself ; lōw וּמוֹכִ֖יחַ he who rebukes ū·mō·w·ḵî·aḥ לְרָשָׁ֣ע a wicked [man] lə·rā·šā‘ מוּמֽוֹ׃ taints himself . mū·mōw Proverbs 9:8 אַל־ Do not ’al- תּ֣וֹכַח rebuke tō·w·ḵaḥ לֵ֭ץ a mocker , lêṣ פֶּן־ or pen- יִשְׂנָאֶ֑ךָּ he will hate you ; yiś·nā·’e·kā הוֹכַ֥ח rebuke hō·w·ḵaḥ לְ֝חָכָ֗ם a wise [man] , lə·ḥā·ḵām וְיֶאֱהָבֶֽךָּ׃ and he will love you . wə·ye·’ĕ·hā·ḇe·kā Proverbs 9:9 תֵּ֣ן Instruct tên לְ֭חָכָם a wise man , lə·ḥā·ḵām וְיֶחְכַּם־ and he will be wiser wə·yeḥ·kam- ע֑וֹד still ; ‘ō·wḏ הוֹדַ֥ע teach hō·w·ḏa‘ לְ֝צַדִּ֗יק a righteous man , lə·ṣad·dîq וְי֣וֹסֶף and he will increase wə·yō·w·sep̄ לֶֽקַח׃פ [his] learning . le·qaḥ Proverbs 9:10 יִרְאַ֣ת The fear yir·’aṯ יְהוָ֑ה of YHWH Yah·weh תְּחִלַּ֣ת is the beginning tə·ḥil·laṯ חָ֭כְמָה of wisdom , ḥāḵ·māh וְדַ֖עַת and knowledge wə·ḏa·‘aṯ קְדֹשִׁ֣ים of the Holy One qə·ḏō·šîm בִּינָֽה׃ is understanding . bî·nāh Proverbs 9:11 כִּי־ For kî- בִ֭י through [wisdom] ḇî יָמֶ֑יךָ your days yā·me·ḵā יִרְבּ֣וּ will be multiplied , yir·bū שְׁנ֣וֹת and years šə·nō·wṯ וְיוֹסִ֥יפוּ will be added wə·yō·w·sî·p̄ū חַיִּֽים׃ to your life . ḥay·yîm לְּ֝ךָ֗ lə·ḵā Proverbs 9:12 אִם־ If ’im- חָ֭כַמְתָּ you are wise , ḥā·ḵam·tā חָכַ֣מְתָּ you are wise ḥā·ḵam·tā לָּ֑ךְ to your own advantage ; lāḵ וְ֝לַ֗צְתָּ but if you scoff , wə·laṣ·tā לְֽבַדְּךָ֥ you alone lə·ḇad·də·ḵā תִשָּֽׂא׃ will bear [the consequences] . ṯiś·śā Proverbs 9:13 אֵ֣שֶׁת The woman ’ê·šeṯ כְּ֭סִילוּת [named] Folly kə·sî·lūṯ הֹֽמִיָּ֑ה is loud ; hō·mî·yāh פְּ֝תַיּ֗וּת [she is] naive pə·ṯay·yūṯ
