פִֽי׃ . . . p̄î תֵּ֝֗ט or turn from them . têṭ Proverbs 4:6 אַל־ Do not ’al- תַּעַזְבֶ֥הָ forsake [wisdom] , ta·‘az·ḇe·hā וְתִשְׁמְרֶ֑ךָּ and she will preserve you ; wə·ṯiš·mə·re·kā אֱהָבֶ֥הָ love her , ’ĕ·hā·ḇe·hā וְתִצְּרֶֽךָּ׃ and she will guard you . wə·ṯiṣ·ṣə·re·kā Proverbs 4:7 חָ֭כְמָה Wisdom ḥāḵ·māh רֵאשִׁ֣ית is supreme ; rê·šîṯ קְנֵ֣ה so acquire qə·nêh חָכְמָ֑ה wisdom . ḥāḵ·māh וּבְכָל־ And whatever ū·ḇə·ḵāl קִ֝נְיָנְךָ֗ you may acquire , qin·yā·nə·ḵā קְנֵ֣ה gain qə·nêh בִינָֽה׃ understanding . ḇî·nāh Proverbs 4:8 סַלְסְלֶ֥הָ Prize her , sal·sə·le·hā וּֽתְרוֹמְמֶ֑ךָּ and she will exalt you ; ū·ṯə·rō·wm·me·kā כִּ֣י if kî תְחַבְּקֶֽנָּה׃ you embrace her , ṯə·ḥab·bə·qen·nāh תְּ֝כַבֵּ֗דְךָ she will honor you . tə·ḵab·bê·ḏə·ḵā Proverbs 4:9 תִּתֵּ֣ן She will set tit·tên לִוְיַת־ a garland liw·yaṯ- חֵ֑ן of grace ḥên לְ֭רֹאשְׁךָ on your head ; lə·rō·šə·ḵā תְּמַגְּנֶֽךָּ׃ she will present you tə·mag·gə·ne·kā עֲטֶ֖רֶת with a crown ‘ă·ṭe·reṯ תִּפְאֶ֣רֶת of beauty . ” tip̄·’e·reṯ Proverbs 4:10 שְׁמַ֣ע Listen , šə·ma‘ בְּ֭נִי my son , bə·nî וְקַ֣ח and receive wə·qaḥ אֲמָרָ֑י my words , ’ă·mā·rāy שְׁנ֣וֹת and the years šə·nō·wṯ חַיִּֽים׃ of your life ḥay·yîm וְיִרְבּ֥וּ will be many . wə·yir·bū לְ֝ךָ֗ - lə·ḵā Proverbs 4:11 הֹרֵתִ֑יךָ I will guide you hō·rê·ṯî·ḵā בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ in the way bə·ḏe·reḵ חָ֭כְמָה of wisdom ; ḥāḵ·māh הִ֝דְרַכְתִּ֗יךָ I will lead you hiḏ·raḵ·tî·ḵā יֹֽשֶׁר׃ on straight yō·šer בְּמַעְגְּלֵי־ paths . bə·ma‘·gə·lê- Proverbs 4:12 בְּֽ֭לֶכְתְּךָ When you walk , bə·leḵ·tə·ḵā צַעֲדֶ֑ךָ your steps ṣa·‘ă·ḏe·ḵā לֹא־ will not lō- יֵצַ֣ר be impeded ; yê·ṣar וְאִם־ when wə·’im- תָּ֝ר֗וּץ you run , tā·rūṣ לֹ֣א you will not lō תִכָּשֵֽׁל׃ stumble . ṯik·kā·šêl Proverbs 4:13 הַחֲזֵ֣ק Hold on ha·ḥă·zêq בַּמּוּסָ֣ר to instruction ; bam·mū·sār אַל־ do not ’al- תֶּ֑רֶף let go . te·rep̄ נִ֝צְּרֶ֗הָ Guard it , niṣ·ṣə·re·hā כִּי־ for kî- הִ֥יא it hî חַיֶּֽיךָ׃ is your life . ḥay·ye·ḵā Proverbs 4:14 אַל־ Do not ’al- תָּבֹ֑א set foot tā·ḇō בְּאֹ֣רַח on the path bə·’ō·raḥ רְ֭שָׁעִים of the wicked rə·šā·‘îm וְאַל־ [or] wə·’al- תְּ֝אַשֵּׁ֗ר walk tə·’aš·šêr בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ in the way bə·ḏe·reḵ רָעִֽים׃ of evildoers . rā·‘îm Proverbs 4:15 פְּרָעֵ֥הוּ Avoid it ; pə·rā·‘ê·hū אַל־ do not ’al- תַּעֲבָר־ travel ta·‘ă·ḇār- בּ֑וֹ on it . bōw שְׂטֵ֖ה Turn śə·ṭêh
