בָּֽזוּ׃פ despise bā·zū חָכְמָ֥ה wisdom ḥāḵ·māh וּ֝מוּסָ֗ר and discipline . ū·mū·sār Proverbs 1:8 שְׁמַ֣ע Listen , šə·ma‘ בְּ֭נִי my son , bə·nî אָבִ֑יךָ to your father’s ’ā·ḇî·ḵā מוּסַ֣ר instruction , mū·sar תִּ֝טֹּ֗שׁ and do not forsake tiṭ·ṭōš וְאַל־ . . . wə·’al- תּוֹרַ֥ת the teaching tō·w·raṯ אִמֶּֽךָ׃ of your mother . ’im·me·ḵā Proverbs 1:9 כִּ֤י׀ For kî הֵ֬ם they hêm לִוְיַ֤ת [are] a garland liw·yaṯ חֵ֓ן of grace ḥên לְרֹאשֶׁ֑ךָ on your head lə·rō·še·ḵā וַ֝עֲנָקִ֗ים and a pendant wa·‘ă·nā·qîm לְגַרְגְּרֹתֶֽיךָ׃ around your neck . lə·ḡar·gə·rō·ṯe·ḵā Proverbs 1:10 בְּנִ֡י My son , bə·nî אִם־ if ’im- חַ֝טָּאִ֗ים sinners ḥaṭ·ṭā·’îm יְפַתּ֥וּךָ entice you , yə·p̄at·tū·ḵā אַל־ do not ’al- תֹּבֵֽא׃ yield [to them] . tō·ḇê Proverbs 1:11 אִם־ If ’im- יֹאמְרוּ֮ they say , yō·mə·rū לְכָ֪ה “ Come lə·ḵāh אִ֫תָּ֥נוּ along , ’it·tā·nū נֶאֶרְבָ֥ה let us lie in wait ne·’er·ḇāh לְדָ֑ם for blood , lə·ḏām נִצְפְּנָ֖ה let us ambush niṣ·pə·nāh לְנָקִ֣י the innocent lə·nā·qî חִנָּֽם׃ without cause , ḥin·nām Proverbs 1:12 נִ֭בְלָעֵם let us swallow them niḇ·lā·‘êm חַיִּ֑ים alive ḥay·yîm כִּשְׁא֣וֹל like Sheol , kiš·’ō·wl וּ֝תְמִימִ֗ים and whole ū·ṯə·mî·mîm כְּי֣וֹרְדֵי like those descending kə·yō·wr·ḏê בֽוֹר׃ into the Pit . ḇō·wr Proverbs 1:13 נִמְצָ֑א We {will} find nim·ṣā כָּל־ all manner kāl- יָקָ֣ר of precious yā·qār ה֣וֹן goods ; hō·wn נְמַלֵּ֖א we {will} fill nə·mal·lê בָתֵּ֣ינוּ our houses ḇāt·tê·nū שָׁלָֽל׃ with plunder . šā·lāl Proverbs 1:14 תַּפִּ֣יל Throw in tap·pîl גּ֭וֹרָ֣לְךָ your lot gō·w·rā·lə·ḵā בְּתוֹכֵ֑נוּ with us ; bə·ṯō·w·ḵê·nū לְכֻלָּֽנוּ׃ let us all lə·ḵul·lā·nū יִהְיֶ֥ה share yih·yeh אֶ֝חָ֗ד one ’e·ḥāḏ כִּ֥יס purse ” — kîs Proverbs 1:15 בְּנִ֗י my son , bə·nî אַל־ do not ’al- תֵּלֵ֣ךְ walk tê·lêḵ בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ the road bə·ḏe·reḵ אִתָּ֑ם with them ’it·tām מְנַ֥ע or set mə·na‘ רַ֝גְלְךָ֗ foot raḡ·lə·ḵā מִנְּתִיבָתָֽם׃ upon their path . min·nə·ṯî·ḇā·ṯām Proverbs 1:16 כִּ֣י For kî רַ֭גְלֵיהֶם their feet raḡ·lê·hem יָר֑וּצוּ run yā·rū·ṣū לָרַ֣ע to evil , lā·ra‘ וִֽ֝ימַהֲר֗וּ and they are swift wî·ma·hă·rū לִשְׁפָּךְ־ to shed liš·pāḵ- דָּֽם׃ blood . dām Proverbs 1:17 כִּֽי־ How kî- חִ֭נָּם futile [it is] ḥin·nām
