יְלָדוֹ its young yə·lå̄·ḏō יְשַׁוֵּ֑עוּ cry out yə·šaw·wê·‘ū אֵ֣ל to ’êl אֶל־ God ’el- יִ֝תְע֗וּ as they wander about yiṯ·‘ū לִבְלִי־ for lack of liḇ·lî- אֹֽכֶל׃ food ? [’’] ’ō·ḵel Job 39:1 הֲיָדַ֗עְתָּ [“] Do you know hă·yā·ḏa‘·tā עֵ֭ת when ‘êṯ סָ֑לַע mountain sā·la‘ יַעֲלֵי־ goats ya·‘ă·lê- לֶ֣דֶת give birth ? le·ḏeṯ תִּשְׁמֹֽר׃ Have you watched tiš·mōr אַיָּל֣וֹת the doe ’ay·yā·lō·wṯ חֹלֵ֖ל bear her fawn ? ḥō·lêl Job 39:2 תִּסְפֹּ֣ר Can you count tis·pōr יְרָחִ֣ים the months yə·rā·ḥîm תְּמַלֶּ֑אנָה they are pregnant ? tə·mal·le·nāh וְ֝יָדַ֗עְתָּ Do you know wə·yā·ḏa‘·tā עֵ֣ת the time ‘êṯ לִדְתָּֽנָה׃ they give birth ? liḏ·tā·nāh Job 39:3 תִּ֭כְרַעְנָה They crouch down tiḵ·ra‘·nāh תְּפַלַּ֑חְנָה and bring forth tə·p̄al·laḥ·nāh יַלְדֵיהֶ֣ן their young ; yal·ḏê·hen תְּשַׁלַּֽחְנָה׃ they deliver tə·šal·laḥ·nāh חֶבְלֵיהֶ֥ם their newborn . ḥeḇ·lê·hem Job 39:4 בְ֭נֵיהֶם Their young ones ḇə·nê·hem יַחְלְמ֣וּ thrive yaḥ·lə·mū יִרְבּ֣וּ and grow up yir·bū בַבָּ֑ר in the open field ; ḇab·bār יָ֝צְא֗וּ they leave yā·ṣə·’ū וְלֹא־ and do not wə·lō- שָׁ֥בוּ return šā·ḇū לָֽמוֹ׃ . lā·mōw Job 39:5 מִֽי־ Who mî- שִׁלַּ֣ח set šil·laḥ פֶּ֣רֶא the wild donkey pe·re חָפְשִׁ֑י free ? ḥā·p̄ə·šî מִ֣י Who mî פִתֵּֽחַ׃ released p̄it·tê·aḥ עָ֝ר֗וֹד the swift donkey ‘ā·rō·wḏ וּמֹסְר֥וֹת from the harness ? ū·mō·sə·rō·wṯ Job 39:6 אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- שַׂ֣מְתִּי I made śam·tî עֲרָבָ֣ה the wilderness ‘ă·rā·ḇāh בֵית֑וֹ his home ḇê·ṯōw מְלֵֽחָה׃ and the salt flats mə·lê·ḥāh וּֽמִשְׁכְּנוֹתָ֥יו his dwelling . ū·miš·kə·nō·w·ṯāw Job 39:7 יִ֭שְׂחַק He scorns yiś·ḥaq לַהֲמ֣וֹן the tumult la·hă·mō·wn קִרְיָ֑ה of the city qir·yāh לֹ֣א and never lō יִשְׁמָֽע׃ hears yiš·mā‘ תְּשֻׁא֥וֹת the shouts tə·šu·’ō·wṯ נ֝וֹגֵ֗שׂ of a driver . nō·w·ḡêś Job 39:8 יְת֣וּר He roams yə·ṯūr הָרִ֣ים the mountains hā·rîm מִרְעֵ֑הוּ for pasture , mir·‘ê·hū יִדְרֽוֹשׁ׃ searching yiḏ·rō·wōš וְאַחַ֖ר for wə·’a·ḥar כָּל־ any kāl- יָר֣וֹק green thing . yā·rō·wq Job 39:9 רֵּ֣ים Will the wild ox rēm הֲיֹ֣אבֶה consent hă·yō·ḇeh עָבְדֶ֑ךָ to serve you ? ‘ā·ḇə·ḏe·ḵā אִם־ . . . ’im- יָ֝לִ֗ין Will he stay yā·lîn עַל־ by ‘al- אֲבוּסֶֽךָ׃ your manger {at night} ? ’ă·ḇū·se·ḵā Job 39:10 הֲ Can you hold hăṯiq·šār-
