מַחְשִׁ֖יךְ who obscures maḥ·šîḵ עֵצָ֥ה My counsel ‘ê·ṣāh בְמִלִּ֗ין by words ḇə·mil·lîn בְּֽלִי־ without bə·lî- דָֽעַת׃ knowledge ? ḏā·‘aṯ Job 38:3 נָ֣א Now nā אֱזָר־ brace ’ĕ·zār- חֲלָצֶ֑יךָ yourself ḥă·lā·ṣe·ḵā כְגֶ֣בֶר like a man ; ḵə·ḡe·ḇer וְ֝אֶשְׁאָלְךָ֗ I will question you , wə·’eš·’ā·lə·ḵā וְהוֹדִיעֵֽנִי׃ and you shall inform Me . wə·hō·w·ḏî·‘ê·nî Job 38:4 אֵיפֹ֣ה Where ’ê·p̄ōh הָ֭יִיתָ were you hā·yî·ṯā בְּיָסְדִי־ when I laid the foundations bə·yā·sə·ḏî- אָ֑רֶץ of the earth ? ’ā·reṣ הַ֝גֵּ֗ד Tell [Me] , hag·gêḏ אִם־ if ’im- יָדַ֥עְתָּ you have understanding yā·ḏa‘·tā בִינָֽה׃ . . . . ḇî·nāh Job 38:5 מִי־ Who mî- שָׂ֣ם fixed śām מְ֭מַדֶּיהָ its measurements ? mə·mad·de·hā כִּ֣י Surely kî תֵדָ֑ע you know ! ṯê·ḏā‘ א֤וֹ Or ’ōw מִֽי־ who mî- נָטָ֖ה stretched nā·ṭāh קָּֽו׃ a measuring line qāw עָלֶ֣יהָ across it ? ‘ā·le·hā Job 38:6 עַל־ - ‘al- מָ֭ה On what māh אֲדָנֶ֣יהָ were its foundations ’ă·ḏā·ne·hā הָטְבָּ֑עוּ set , hā·ṭə·bā·‘ū א֥וֹ or ’ōw מִֽי־ who mî- יָ֝רָ֗ה laid yā·rāh אֶ֣בֶן vvv ’e·ḇen פִּנָּתָֽהּ׃ its cornerstone , pin·nā·ṯāh Job 38:7 בֹ֑קֶר while the morning ḇō·qer כּ֣וֹכְבֵי stars kō·wḵ·ḇê בְּרָן־ sang bə·rān- יַ֭חַד together ya·ḥaḏ כָּל־ and all kāl- בְּנֵ֥י the sons bə·nê אֱלֹהִֽים׃ of God ’ĕ·lō·hîm וַ֝יָּרִ֗יעוּ shouted for joy ? way·yā·rî·‘ū Job 38:8 וַיָּ֣סֶךְ Who enclosed way·yā·seḵ יָ֑ם the sea yām בִּדְלָתַ֣יִם behind doors biḏ·lā·ṯa·yim בְּ֝גִיח֗וֹ when it burst forth bə·ḡî·ḥōw מֵרֶ֥חֶם from the womb mê·re·ḥem יֵצֵֽא׃ . . . , yê·ṣê Job 38:9 בְּשׂוּמִ֣י when I made bə·śū·mî עָנָ֣ן the clouds ‘ā·nān לְבֻשׁ֑וֹ its garment lə·ḇu·šōw וַ֝עֲרָפֶ֗ל and thick darkness wa·‘ă·rā·p̄el חֲתֻלָּתֽוֹ׃ its blanket , ḥă·ṯul·lā·ṯōw Job 38:10 וָאֶשְׁבֹּ֣ר when I fixed wā·’eš·bōr עָלָ֣יו . . . ‘ā·lāw חֻקִּ֑י its boundaries ḥuq·qî וָֽ֝אָשִׂ֗ים and set in place wā·’ā·śîm בְּרִ֣יחַ its bars bə·rî·aḥ וּדְלָתָֽיִם׃ and doors , ū·ḏə·lā·ṯā·yim Job 38:11 וָאֹמַ֗ר and I declared : wā·’ō·mar תָ֭בוֹא ‘ You may come ṯā·ḇō·w עַד־ this far ‘aḏ- פֹּ֣ה . . . , pōh וְלֹ֣א but no wə·lō תֹסִ֑יף farther ; ṯō·sîp̄ וּפֹ֥א־ here ū·p̄ō- בִּגְא֥וֹן your proud biḡ·’ō·wn גַּלֶּֽיךָ׃ waves gal·le·ḵā יָ֝שִׁ֗ית must stop ’ ? yā·šîṯ
