לֹ֣א־ nothing lō- כָל־ . . . ḵāl דְּ֝בָרָ֗יו a man asks ? də·ḇā·rāw Job 33:14 כִּֽי־ For kî- אֵ֑ל God ’êl יְדַבֶּר־ speaks yə·ḏab·ber- בְאַחַ֥ת in one [way] ḇə·’a·ḥaṯ וּ֝בִשְׁתַּ֗יִם and in another , ū·ḇiš·ta·yim לֹ֣א [yet] no one lō יְשׁוּרֶֽנָּה׃ notices . yə·šū·ren·nāh Job 33:15 בַּחֲל֤וֹם׀ In a dream , ba·ḥă·lō·wm חֶזְי֬וֹן in a vision ḥez·yō·wn לַ֗יְלָה in the night , lay·lāh תַּ֭רְדֵּמָה when deep sleep tar·dê·māh בִּנְפֹ֣ל falls bin·p̄ōl עַל־ upon ‘al- אֲנָשִׁ֑ים men ’ă·nā·šîm בִּ֝תְנוּמ֗וֹת as they slumber biṯ·nū·mō·wṯ עֲלֵ֣י on ‘ă·lê מִשְׁכָּֽב׃ their beds , miš·kāḇ Job 33:16 אָ֣ז - ’āz יִ֭גְלֶה He opens yiḡ·leh אֹ֣זֶן their ears ’ō·zen אֲנָשִׁ֑ים . . . ’ă·nā·šîm יַחְתֹּֽם׃ and terrifies them yaḥ·tōm וּבְמֹ֖סָרָ֣ם with warnings ū·ḇə·mō·sā·rām Job 33:17 לְ֭הָסִיר to turn lə·hā·sîr אָדָ֣ם a man ’ā·ḏām מַעֲשֶׂ֑ה from wrongdoing ma·‘ă·śeh יְכַסֶּֽה׃ and keep him yə·ḵas·seh מִגֶּ֣בֶר from mig·ge·ḇer וְגֵוָ֖ה pride , wə·ḡê·wāh Job 33:18 יַחְשֹׂ֣ךְ to preserve yaḥ·śōḵ נַ֭פְשׁוֹ his soul nap̄·šōw מִנִּי־ from min·nî- שָׁ֑חַת the Pit šā·ḥaṯ וְ֝חַיָּת֗וֹ and his life wə·ḥay·yā·ṯōw מֵעֲבֹ֥ר from perishing mê·‘ă·ḇōr בַּשָּֽׁלַח׃ by the sword . baš·šā·laḥ Job 33:19 וְהוּכַ֣ח A man is also chastened wə·hū·ḵaḥ עַל־ on ‘al- מִשְׁכָּב֑וֹ his bed miš·kā·ḇōw בְּ֭מַכְאוֹב with pain bə·maḵ·’ō·wḇ אֵתָֽן׃ and constant ’ê·ṯān וְרִיב distress wə·rīḇ עֲצָמָ֣יו in his bones , ‘ă·ṣā·māw Job 33:20 חַיָּת֣וֹ so that he ḥay·yā·ṯōw וְזִֽהֲמַ֣תּוּ detests wə·zi·hă·mat·tū לָ֑חֶם his bread , lā·ḥem וְ֝נַפְשׁ֗וֹ and his soul wə·nap̄·šōw תַּאֲוָֽה׃ [loathes] his favorite ta·’ă·wāh מַאֲכַ֥ל food . ma·’ă·ḵal Job 33:21 בְּשָׂר֣וֹ His flesh bə·śā·rōw יִ֣כֶל wastes away yi·ḵel מֵרֹ֑אִי from sight , mê·rō·’î לֹ֣א and his hidden lō רֻאּֽוּ׃ . . . ru’·’ū עַ֝צְמוֹתָ֗יו bones ‘aṣ·mō·w·ṯāw וּשְׁפִי protrude . ū·šə·p̄ī Job 33:22 נַפְשׁ֑וֹ He nap̄·šōw וַתִּקְרַ֣ב draws near wat·tiq·raḇ לַשַּׁ֣חַת to the Pit , laš·ša·ḥaṯ וְ֝חַיָּת֗וֹ and his life wə·ḥay·yā·ṯōw לַֽמְמִתִֽים׃ to the messengers of death . lam·mi·ṯîm Job 33:23 אִם־ Yet if ’im- יֵ֤שׁ there is yêš מַלְאָ֗ךְ a messenger mal·’āḵ עָלָ֨יו׀ on his side , ‘ā·lāw אֶחָ֥ד one ’e·ḥāḏ מֵלִ֗יץ mediator mê·lîṣ
