וּלְיֶ֙תֶר֙ or any other ū·lə·ye·ṯer עֹשֵׂ֣ה vvv ‘ō·śêh הַמְּלָאכָ֔ה workers . ham·mə·lā·ḵāh Nehemiah 2:17 וָאוֹמַ֣ר Then I said wā·’ō·w·mar אֲלֵהֶ֗ם to them , ’ă·lê·hem אַתֶּ֤ם “ You ’at·tem רֹאִים֙ see rō·’îm הָרָעָה֙ the trouble hā·rā·‘āh אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer אֲנַ֣חְנוּ we are ’ă·naḥ·nū בָ֔הּ in . ḇāh אֲשֶׁ֤ר - ’ă·šer יְרוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ Jerusalem yə·rū·šā·lim חֲרֵבָ֔ה lies in ruins , ḥă·rê·ḇāh וּשְׁעָרֶ֖יהָ and its gates ū·šə·‘ā·re·hā נִצְּת֣וּ have been burned down niṣ·ṣə·ṯū בָאֵ֑שׁ . . . . ḇā·’êš לְכ֗וּ Come , lə·ḵū וְנִבְנֶה֙ let us rebuild wə·niḇ·neh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- חוֹמַ֣ת the wall ḥō·w·maṯ יְרוּשָׁלִַ֔ם of Jerusalem , yə·rū·šā·lim וְלֹא־ so that we will no wə·lō- ע֖וֹד longer ‘ō·wḏ נִהְיֶ֥ה be nih·yeh חֶרְפָּֽה׃ a disgrace . ” ḥer·pāh Nehemiah 2:18 וָאַגִּ֨יד I also told wā·’ag·gîḏ לָהֶ֜ם them lā·hem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֲשֶׁר־ about ’ă·šer- הִיא֙ . . . hî טוֹבָ֣ה the gracious ṭō·w·ḇāh יַ֣ד hand yaḏ אֱלֹהַ֗י of my God ’ĕ·lō·hay עָלַ֔י upon me , ‘ā·lay וְאַף־ and wə·’ap̄- דִּבְרֵ֥י . . . diḇ·rê אֲשֶׁ֣ר what ’ă·šer הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ the king ham·me·leḵ אָֽמַר־ had said ’ā·mar- לִ֑י to me . lî נָק֣וּם “ Let us start nā·qūm וּבָנִ֔ינוּ rebuilding , ” ū·ḇā·nî·nū וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ they replied , way·yō·mə·rū וַיְחַזְּק֥וּ and they set way·ḥaz·zə·qū יְדֵיהֶ֖ם their hands yə·ḏê·hem לַטּוֹבָֽה׃פ to [this] good [work] . laṭ·ṭō·w·ḇāh Nehemiah 2:19 סַנְבַלַּ֨ט But when Sanballat san·ḇal·laṭ הַחֹרֹנִ֜י the Horonite , ha·ḥō·rō·nî וְטֹבִיָּ֣ה׀ Tobiah wə·ṭō·ḇî·yāh הָֽעַמּוֹנִ֗י the Ammonite hā·‘am·mō·w·nî הָעֶ֣בֶד official , hā·‘e·ḇeḏ וְגֶ֙שֶׁם֙ and Geshem wə·ḡe·šem הָֽעַרְבִ֔י the Arab hā·‘ar·ḇî וַיִּשְׁמַע֩ heard about this , way·yiš·ma‘ וַיַּלְעִ֣גוּ they mocked way·yal·‘i·ḡū לָ֔נוּ us lā·nū וַיִּבְז֖וּ and ridiculed way·yiḇ·zū עָלֵ֑ינוּ us , ‘ā·lê·nū וַיֹּאמְר֗וּ saying , way·yō·mə·rū מָֽה־ “ What māh- הַדָּבָ֤ר . . . had·dā·ḇār הַזֶּה֙ is this haz·zeh אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer אַתֶּ֣ם you are ’at·tem עֹשִׂ֔ים doing ? ‘ō·śîm אַתֶּ֥ם Are you ’at·tem מֹרְדִֽים׃ rebelling mō·rə·ḏîm הַעַ֥ל against ha·‘al הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ the king ? ” ham·me·leḵ Nehemiah 2:20 וָאָשִׁ֨יב So I answered wā·’ā·šîḇ אוֹתָ֜ם them ’ō·w·ṯām דָּבָ֗ר dā·ḇār וָאוֹמַ֤ר and said wā·’ō·w·mar לָהֶם֙ - , lā·hem אֱלֹהֵ֣י “ The God ’ĕ·lō·hê הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם of heaven haš·šā·ma·yim ה֚וּא is the One hū יַצְלִ֣יחַֽ who will grant us success yaṣ·lî·aḥ לָ֔נוּ . lā·nū וַאֲנַ֥חְנוּ We , wa·’ă·naḥ·nū עֲבָדָ֖יו His servants , ‘ă·ḇā·ḏāw נָק֣וּם will start nā·qūm וּבָנִ֑ינוּ rebuilding , ū·ḇā·nî·nū וְלָכֶ֗ם but you wə·lā·ḵem אֵֽין־ have no ’ên- חֵ֧לֶק portion , ḥê·leq וּצְדָקָ֛ה right , ū·ṣə·ḏā·qāh
