הָאֵ֗לֶּה these hā·’êl·leh הַדְּבָרִ֣ים words , had·də·ḇā·rîm יָשַׁ֙בְתִּי֙ I sat down yā·šaḇ·tî וָֽאֶבְכֶּ֔ה and wept . wā·’eḇ·keh וָאֶתְאַבְּלָ֖ה I mourned wā·’eṯ·’ab·bə·lāh יָמִ֑ים for days , yā·mîm וָֽאֱהִ֥י . . . wā·’ĕ·hî צָם֙ fasting ṣām וּמִתְפַּלֵּ֔ל and praying ū·miṯ·pal·lêl לִפְנֵ֖י before lip̄·nê אֱלֹהֵ֥י the God ’ĕ·lō·hê הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ of heaven . haš·šā·mā·yim Nehemiah 1:5 וָאֹמַ֗ר Then I said : wā·’ō·mar אָֽנָּ֤א “ O ’ān·nā יְהוָה֙ YHWH , Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֣י God ’ĕ·lō·hê הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם of heaven , haš·šā·ma·yim הַגָּד֖וֹל the great hag·gā·ḏō·wl וְהַנּוֹרָ֑א and awesome wə·han·nō·w·rā הָאֵ֥ל God hā·’êl שֹׁמֵ֤ר who keeps šō·mêr הַבְּרִית֙ His covenant hab·bə·rîṯ וָחֶ֔סֶד of loving devotion wā·ḥe·seḏ לְאֹהֲבָ֖יו with those who love Him lə·’ō·hă·ḇāw וּלְשֹׁמְרֵ֥י and keep ū·lə·šō·mə·rê מִצְוֺתָֽיו׃ His commandments , miṣ·wō·ṯāw Nehemiah 1:6 וְֽעֵינֶ֪יךָ let Your eyes wə·‘ê·ne·ḵā תְּהִ֣י be tə·hî נָ֣א . . . nā פְתֻוּח֟וֹת open p̄ə·ṯuw·w·ḥōṯ אָזְנְךָֽ־ and Your ears ’ā·zə·nə·ḵā- קַשֶּׁ֣בֶת attentive qaš·še·ḇeṯ לִשְׁמֹ֣עַ to hear liš·mō·a‘ אֶל־ . . . ’el- תְּפִלַּ֣ת the prayer tə·p̄il·laṯ אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ’ă·šer אָנֹכִי֩ I , ’ā·nō·ḵî עַבְדְּךָ֡ Your servant , ‘aḇ·də·ḵā הַיּוֹם֙ now hay·yō·wm מִתְפַּלֵּ֨ל pray miṯ·pal·lêl לְפָנֶ֤יךָ before You lə·p̄ā·ne·ḵā יוֹמָ֣ם day yō·w·mām וָלַ֔יְלָה and night wā·lay·lāh עַל־ for ‘al- עֲבָדֶ֑יךָ Your servants , ‘ă·ḇā·ḏe·ḵā בְּנֵ֥י the Israelites bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל . . . . yiś·rā·’êl וּמִתְוַדֶּ֗ה I confess ū·miṯ·wad·deh עַל־ . . . ‘al- חַטֹּ֤אות the sins ḥaṭ·ṭō·wṯ אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ’ă·šer בְּנֵֽי־ we Israelites bə·nê- יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ . . . yiś·rā·’êl חָטָ֣אנוּ have committed ḥā·ṭā·nū לָ֔ךְ against You . lāḵ וַאֲנִ֥י Both I wa·’ă·nî אָבִ֖י and my father’s ’ā·ḇî וּבֵית־ house ū·ḇêṯ- חָטָֽאנוּ׃ have sinned . ḥā·ṭā·nū Nehemiah 1:7 חֲבֹ֖ל We have behaved corruptly ḥă·ḇōl חָבַ֣לְנוּ . . . ḥā·ḇal·nū לָ֑ךְ against You lāḵ וְלֹא־ and have not wə·lō- שָׁמַ֣רְנוּ kept šā·mar·nū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַמִּצְוֺ֗ת the commandments , ham·miṣ·wōṯ וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- הַֽחֻקִּים֙ statutes , ha·ḥuq·qîm וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- הַמִּשְׁפָּטִ֔ים and ordinances ham·miš·pā·ṭîm אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ’ă·šer צִוִּ֖יתָ You gave ṣiw·wî·ṯā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עַבְדֶּֽךָ׃ Your servant ‘aḇ·de·ḵā מֹשֶׁ֥ה Moses . mō·šeh Nehemiah 1:8 זְכָר־ Remember , zə·ḵār- נָא֙ I pray , nā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַדָּבָ֔ר the word had·dā·ḇār אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ’ă·šer צִוִּ֛יתָ You commanded ṣiw·wî·ṯā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עַבְדְּךָ֖ Your servant ‘aḇ·də·ḵā מֹשֶׁ֥ה Moses mō·šeh לֵאמֹ֑ר when You said , lê·mōr אַתֶּ֣ם ‘ If you ’at·tem תִּמְעָ֔לוּ are unfaithful , tim·‘ā·lū אֲנִ֕י I ’ă·nî
