אֱלֹהָ֑יו his God ’ĕ·lō·hāw לֹ֣א and did not lō נִכְנַ֗ע humble himself niḵ·na‘ מִלִּפְנֵ֛י before mil·lip̄·nê יִרְמְיָ֥הוּ Jeremiah yir·mə·yā·hū הַנָּבִ֖יא the prophet , han·nā·ḇî מִפִּ֥י who spoke mip·pî יְהוָֽה׃ for YHWH . Yah·weh 2 Chronicles 36:13 וְ֠גַם He also wə·ḡam מָרָ֔ד rebelled mā·rāḏ בַּמֶּ֤לֶךְ against King bam·me·leḵ נְבֽוּכַדְנֶאצַּר֙ Nebuchadnezzar , nə·ḇū·ḵaḏ·neṣ·ṣar אֲשֶׁ֥ר who ’ă·šer הִשְׁבִּיע֖וֹ had made him swear hiš·bî·‘ōw בֵּֽאלֹהִ֑ים by God . bê·lō·hîm וַיֶּ֤קֶשׁ But [Zedekiah] stiffened way·ye·qeš אֶת־ ’eṯ- עָרְפּוֹ֙ his neck ‘ā·rə·pōw וַיְאַמֵּ֣ץ and hardened way·’am·mêṣ אֶת־ ’eṯ- לְבָב֔וֹ his heart lə·ḇā·ḇōw מִשּׁ֕וּב against turning miš·šūḇ אֶל־ to ’el- יְהוָ֖ה YHWH , Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֥י the God ’ĕ·lō·hê יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ of Israel . yiś·rā·’êl 2 Chronicles 36:14 גַּ֠ם Furthermore , gam כָּל־ all kāl- שָׂרֵ֨י the leaders śā·rê הַכֹּהֲנִ֤ים of the priests hak·kō·hă·nîm וְהָעָם֙ and the people wə·hā·‘ām הִרְבּ֣וּ multiplied hir·bū לִמְעָול־ their unfaithful deeds lim·‘āl- מַ֔עַל . . . , ma·ʿal כְּכֹ֖ל [following] all kə·ḵōl תֹּעֲב֣וֹת the abominations tō·‘ă·ḇō·wṯ הַגּוֹיִ֑ם of the nations , hag·gō·w·yim וַֽיְטַמְּאוּ֙ and they defiled way·ṭam·mə·’ū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בֵּ֣ית the house bêṯ יְהוָ֔ה of YHWH , Yah·weh אֲשֶׁ֥ר which ’ă·šer הִקְדִּ֖ישׁ He had consecrated hiq·dîš בִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ in Jerusalem . bî·rū·šā·lim 2 Chronicles 36:15 הַשְׁכֵּ֣ם Again and again haš·kêm וְשָׁל֑וֹחַ . . . wə·šā·lō·w·aḥ יְהוָה֩ YHWH , Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֨י the God ’ĕ·lō·hê אֲבוֹתֵיהֶ֧ם of their fathers , ’ă·ḇō·w·ṯê·hem וַיִּשְׁלַ֡ח sent word way·yiš·laḥ עֲלֵיהֶ֛ם to [His people] ‘ă·lê·hem בְּיַ֥ד through bə·yaḏ מַלְאָכָ֖יו His messengers mal·’ā·ḵāw כִּֽי־ because kî- חָמַ֥ל He had compassion ḥā·mal עַל־ on ‘al- עַמּ֖וֹ [them] ‘am·mōw וְעַל־ and on wə·‘al- מְעוֹנֽוֹ׃ His dwelling place . mə·‘ō·w·nōw 2 Chronicles 36:16 וַיִּֽהְי֤וּ But they way·yih·yū מַלְעִבִים֙ mocked mal·‘i·ḇîm בְּמַלְאֲכֵ֣י the messengers bə·mal·’ă·ḵê הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים of God , hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm וּבוֹזִ֣ים despising ū·ḇō·w·zîm דְּבָרָ֔יו His words də·ḇā·rāw וּמִֽתַּעְתְּעִ֖ים and scoffing ū·mit·ta‘·tə·‘îm בִּנְבִאָ֑יו at His prophets , bin·ḇi·’āw עַ֠ד until ‘aḏ חֲמַת־ the wrath ḥă·maṯ- יְהוָ֛ה of YHWH Yah·weh בְּעַמּ֖וֹ against His people bə·‘am·mōw עַד־ . . . ‘aḏ- עֲל֧וֹת was stirred up ‘ă·lō·wṯ לְאֵ֥ין beyond lə·’ên מַרְפֵּֽא׃ remedy . mar·pê 2 Chronicles 36:17 וַיַּ֨עַל So He brought up way·ya·‘al עֲלֵיהֶ֜ם against them ‘ă·lê·hem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- מֶ֣לֶךְ the king me·leḵ כַּשְׂדִּיִּים of the Chaldeans , kaś·dī·yīm וַיַּהֲרֹ֨ג who put way·ya·hă·rōḡ בַּחוּרֵיהֶ֤ם their young men ba·ḥū·rê·hem בַּחֶ֙רֶב֙ to the sword ba·ḥe·reḇ בְּבֵ֣ית vvv bə·ḇêṯ מִקְדָּשָׁ֔ם in the sanctuary , miq·dā·šām
