לֵאמֹ֔ר saying , lê·mōr תְּנָֽה־ ‘ Give tə·nāh- אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בִּתְּךָ֥ your daughter bit·tə·ḵā לִבְנִ֖י to my son liḇ·nî לְאִשָּׁ֑ה in marriage . ’ lə·’iš·šāh הַשָּׂדֶה֙ Then a wild haś·śā·ḏeh חַיַּ֤ת beast ḥay·yaṯ אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer בַּלְּבָנ֔וֹן in Lebanon bal·lə·ḇā·nō·wn וַֽתַּעֲבֹ֞ר came along wat·ta·‘ă·ḇōr וַתִּרְמֹ֖ס and trampled wat·tir·mōs אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַחֽוֹחַ׃ the thistle . ha·ḥō·w·aḥ 2 Chronicles 25:19 אָמַ֗רְתָּ You have said , ’ā·mar·tā הִנֵּ֤ה ‘ Look , hin·nêh הִכִּ֙יתָ֙ I have defeated hik·kî·ṯā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֱד֔וֹם Edom , ’ ’ĕ·ḏō·wm לִבְּךָ֖ and your heart lib·bə·ḵā וּנְשָׂאֲךָ֥ has become proud ū·nə·śā·’ă·ḵā לְהַכְבִּ֑יד and boastful . lə·haḵ·bîḏ עַתָּה֙ Now ‘at·tāh שְׁבָ֣ה stay šə·ḇāh בְּבֵיתֶ֔ךָ at home . bə·ḇê·ṯe·ḵā לָ֤מָּה Why lām·māh תִתְגָּרֶה֙ should you stir up ṯiṯ·gā·reh בְּרָעָ֔ה trouble bə·rā·‘āh אַתָּ֖ה so that you fall — ’at·tāh וְנָ֣פַלְתָּ֔ you wə·nā·p̄al·tā וִיהוּדָ֥ה and Judah wî·hū·ḏāh עִמָּֽךְ׃ with you ? ” ‘im·māḵ 2 Chronicles 25:20 אֲמַצְיָ֔הוּ But Amaziah ’ă·maṣ·yā·hū וְלֹא־ would not wə·lō- שָׁמַ֣ע listen , šā·ma‘ כִּ֤י for kî הִ֔יא this [had come ] hî מֵהָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ from God mê·hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm לְמַ֖עַן in order to lə·ma·‘an תִּתָּ֣ם deliver them tit·tām בְּיָ֑ד into the hand [of Jehoash] , bə·yāḏ כִּ֣י because kî דָֽרְשׁ֔וּ they had sought ḏā·rə·šū אֵ֖ת - ’êṯ אֱלֹהֵ֥י the gods ’ĕ·lō·hê אֱדֽוֹם׃ of Edom . ’ĕ·ḏō·wm 2 Chronicles 25:21 יוֹאָ֤שׁ So Jehoash yō·w·’āš מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ of Israel yiś·rā·’êl וַיַּ֨עַל advanced , way·ya·‘al ה֖וּא and he hū וַאֲמַצְיָ֣הוּ and Amaziah wa·’ă·maṣ·yā·hū מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- יְהוּדָ֑ה of Judah yə·hū·ḏāh פָנִ֔ים faced p̄ā·nîm וַיִּתְרָא֣וּ each other way·yiṯ·rā·’ū בְּבֵ֥ית vvv bə·ḇêṯ שֶׁ֖מֶשׁ at Beth-shemesh še·meš אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer לִיהוּדָֽה׃ in Judah . lî·hū·ḏāh 2 Chronicles 25:22 יְהוּדָ֖ה And Judah yə·hū·ḏāh וַיִּנָּ֥גֶף was routed way·yin·nā·ḡep̄ לִפְנֵ֣י before lip̄·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל Israel , yiś·rā·’êl אִ֥ישׁ and every man ’îš וַיָּנֻ֖סוּ fled way·yā·nu·sū לְאֹהָלָֽיו׃ to his own home . lə·’ō·hā·lāw 2 Chronicles 25:23 וְאֵת֩ - wə·’êṯ בְּבֵ֣ית vvv bə·ḇêṯ שָׁ֑מֶשׁ There at Beth-shemesh , šā·meš יוֹאָ֣שׁ Jehoash yō·w·’āš מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל of Israel yiś·rā·’êl תָּפַ֛שׂ captured tā·p̄aś אֲמַצְיָ֨הוּ Amaziah ’ă·maṣ·yā·hū מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- יְהוּדָ֜ה of Judah , yə·hū·ḏāh בֶּן־ the son ben- יוֹאָ֥שׁ of Joash , yō·w·’āš בֶּן־ the son ben- יְהוֹאָחָ֗ז of Jehoahaz . yə·hō·w·’ā·ḥāz וַיְבִיאֵ֙הוּ֙ Then Jehoash brought him way·ḇî·’ê·hū יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם to Jerusalem yə·rū·šā·lim וַיִּפְרֹ֞ץ and broke down way·yip̄·rōṣ בְּחוֹמַ֣ת the wall bə·ḥō·w·maṯ
