צָבָֽא׃ס for battle . ṣā·ḇā 2 Chronicles 17:19 אֵ֖לֶּה These were the men ’êl·leh הַמְשָׁרְתִ֣ים who served ham·šā·rə·ṯîm אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ the king , ham·me·leḵ מִלְּבַ֞ד besides mil·lə·ḇaḏ אֲשֶׁר־ those ’ă·šer- הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ he ham·me·leḵ נָתַ֥ן stationed nā·ṯan הַמִּבְצָ֖ר in the fortified ham·miḇ·ṣār בְּעָרֵ֥י cities bə·‘ā·rê בְּכָל־ throughout bə·ḵāl יְהוּדָֽה׃פ Judah . yə·hū·ḏāh 2 Chronicles 18:1 לִֽיהוֹשָׁפָ֛ט Now Jehoshaphat lî·hō·wō·šā·p̄āṭ וַיְהִ֧י had way·hî עֹ֥שֶׁר riches ‘ō·šer וְכָב֖וֹד and honor wə·ḵā·ḇō·wḏ לָרֹ֑ב in abundance , lā·rōḇ לְאַחְאָֽב׃ and he allied himself with Ahab lə·’aḥ·’āḇ וַיִּתְחַתֵּ֖ן by marriage . way·yiṯ·ḥat·tên 2 Chronicles 18:2 שָׁנִ֤ים And some years šā·nîm לְקֵ֨ץ later lə·qêṣ וַיֵּרֶד֩ he went down way·yê·reḏ אֶל־ to ’el- אַחְאָב֙ visit Ahab ’aḥ·’āḇ לְשֹׁ֣מְר֔וֹן in Samaria , lə·šō·mə·rō·wn אַחְאָ֜ב where Ahab ’aḥ·’āḇ וַיִּֽזְבַּֽח־ sacrificed way·yiz·baḥ- לָרֹ֔ב many lā·rōḇ צֹ֤אן sheep ṣōn וּבָקָר֙ and cattle ū·ḇā·qār ל֨וֹ for him lōw וְלָעָ֖ם and the people wə·lā·‘ām אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer עִמּ֑וֹ with him , ‘im·mōw וַיְסִיתֵ֕הוּ and urged him way·sî·ṯê·hū לַעֲל֖וֹת to march up la·‘ă·lō·wṯ אֶל־ to ’el- רָמ֥וֹת Ramoth-gilead rā·mō·wṯ גִּלְעָֽד׃ . . . . gil·‘āḏ 2 Chronicles 18:3 אַחְאָ֣ב Ahab ’aḥ·’āḇ מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל of Israel yiś·rā·’êl וַיֹּ֜אמֶר asked way·yō·mer אֶל־ ’el- יְהֽוֹשָׁפָט֙ Jehoshaphat yə·hō·wō·šā·p̄āṭ מֶ֣לֶךְ king me·leḵ יְהוּדָ֔ה of Judah , yə·hū·ḏāh הֲתֵלֵ֥ךְ “ Will you go hă·ṯê·lêḵ עִמִּ֖י with me ‘im·mî רָמֹ֣ת against Ramoth-gilead ? ” rā·mōṯ גִּלְעָ֑ד . . . gil·‘āḏ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר And Jehoshaphat replied way·yō·mer ל֗וֹ , lōw כָּמ֤וֹנִי “ I [am] kā·mō·w·nî כָמ֙וֹךָ֙ like you , ḵā·mō·w·ḵā וּכְעַמְּךָ֣ and my people [are] ū·ḵə·‘am·mə·ḵā עַמִּ֔י your people ; ‘am·mî וְעִמְּךָ֖ [we will join] you wə·‘im·mə·ḵā בַּמִּלְחָמָֽה׃ in the war . ” bam·mil·ḥā·māh 2 Chronicles 18:4 יְהוֹשָׁפָ֖ט But Jehoshaphat yə·hō·wō·šā·p̄āṭ וַיֹּ֥אמֶר also said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- מֶ֣לֶךְ the king me·leḵ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל of Israel , yiś·rā·’êl נָ֥א “ Please nā דְּרָשׁ־ inquire də·rāš- כַיּ֖וֹם first ḵay·yō·wm אֶת־ - ’eṯ- דְּבַ֥ר for the word də·ḇar יְהוָֽה׃ of YHWH .” Yah·weh 2 Chronicles 18:5 מֶֽלֶךְ־ So the king me·leḵ- יִשְׂרָאֵ֥ל of Israel yiś·rā·’êl אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּקְבֹּ֨ץ assembled way·yiq·bōṣ הַנְּבִאִים֮ the prophets , han·nə·ḇi·’îm אַרְבַּ֣ע four ’ar·ba‘ מֵא֣וֹת hundred mê·’ō·wṯ אִישׁ֒ men , ’îš וַיֹּ֣אמֶר and asked them , way·yō·mer הֲנֵלֵ֞ךְ “ Should we go hă·nê·lêḵ לַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה to war lam·mil·ḥā·māh
