2 Chronicles 11:23 וַיָּבֶן֩ Rehoboam also acted wisely way·yā·ḇen וַיִּפְרֹ֨ץ by dispersing way·yip̄·rōṣ בָּנָ֜יו some of his sons bā·nāw מִכָּל־ throughout mik·kāl אַרְצ֧וֹת the districts ’ar·ṣō·wṯ יְהוּדָ֣ה of Judah yə·hū·ḏāh וּבִנְיָמִ֗ן and Benjamin , ū·ḇin·yā·min לְכֹל֙ . . . lə·ḵōl לְֽכָל־ and to all lə·ḵāl הַמְּצֻר֔וֹת the fortified ham·mə·ṣu·rō·wṯ עָרֵ֣י cities . ‘ā·rê וַיִּתֵּ֥ן He gave way·yit·tên לָהֶ֛ם them lā·hem לָרֹ֑ב abundant lā·rōḇ הַמָּז֖וֹן provisions ham·mā·zō·wn וַיִּשְׁאַ֖ל and sought way·yiš·’al הֲמ֥וֹן many hă·mō·wn נָשִֽׁים׃ wives for them . nā·šîm 2 Chronicles 12:1 וַיְהִ֗י - way·hî כְּהָכִ֞ין After Rehoboam had established kə·hā·ḵîn רְחַבְעָם֙ his rə·ḥaḇ·‘ām מַלְכ֤וּת sovereignty mal·ḵūṯ וּכְחֶזְקָת֔וֹ and royal power , ū·ḵə·ḥez·qā·ṯōw וְכָל־ he and all wə·ḵāl יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל Israel yiś·rā·’êl עִמּֽוֹ׃פ with him ‘im·mōw עָזַ֖ב forsook ‘ā·zaḇ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- תּוֹרַ֣ת the Law tō·w·raṯ יְהוָ֑ה of YHWH . Yah·weh 2 Chronicles 12:2 וַיְהִ֞י - way·hî הַֽחֲמִישִׁית֙ In the fifth ha·ḥă·mî·šîṯ בַּשָּׁנָ֤ה year baš·šā·nāh רְחַבְעָ֔ם of Rehoboam’s rə·ḥaḇ·‘ām לַמֶּ֣לֶךְ reign , lam·me·leḵ כִּ֥י because kî מָעֲל֖וּ they had been unfaithful mā·‘ă·lū בַּיהוָֽה׃ to YHWH , Yah·weh שִׁישַׁ֥ק Shishak šî·šaq מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- מִצְרַ֖יִם of Egypt miṣ·ra·yim עָלָ֛ה came up ‘ā·lāh עַל־ and attacked ‘al- יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם Jerusalem yə·rū·šā·lim 2 Chronicles 12:3 בְּאֶ֤לֶף with 1,200 bə·’e·lep̄ וּמָאתַ֙יִם֙ . . . ū·mā·ṯa·yim רֶ֔כֶב chariots , re·ḵeḇ וּבְשִׁשִּׁ֥ים 60,000 {} ū·ḇə·šiš·šîm אֶ֖לֶף . . . ’e·lep̄ פָּרָשִׁ֑ים horsemen , pā·rā·šîm וְאֵ֣ין and countless wə·’ên מִסְפָּ֗ר . . . mis·pār לָעָ֞ם troops lā·‘ām אֲשֶׁר־ who ’ă·šer- בָּ֤אוּ came bā·’ū עִמּוֹ֙ with him ‘im·mōw מִמִּצְרַ֔יִם out of Egypt — mim·miṣ·ra·yim לוּבִ֥ים Libyans , lū·ḇîm סֻכִּיִּ֖ים Sukkites , suk·kî·yîm וְכוּשִֽׁים׃ and Cushites . wə·ḵū·šîm 2 Chronicles 12:4 וַיִּלְכֹּ֛ד He captured way·yil·kōḏ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַמְּצֻר֖וֹת the fortified ham·mə·ṣu·rō·wṯ אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer עָרֵ֥י cities ‘ā·rê לִֽיהוּדָ֑ה of Judah lî·hū·ḏāh וַיָּבֹ֖א and came way·yā·ḇō עַד־ as far as ‘aḏ- יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ס Jerusalem . yə·rū·šā·lim 2 Chronicles 12:5 וּֽשְׁמַֽעְיָ֤ה Then Shemaiah ū·šə·ma‘·yāh הַנָּבִיא֙ the prophet han·nā·ḇî בָּ֣א came bā אֶל־ to ’el- רְחַבְעָ֔ם Rehoboam rə·ḥaḇ·‘ām וְשָׂרֵ֣י and the leaders wə·śā·rê יְהוּדָ֔ה of Judah yə·hū·ḏāh אֲשֶׁר־ who ’ă·šer- נֶאֶסְפ֥וּ had gathered ne·’es·p̄ū אֶל־ at ’el- יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם Jerusalem yə·rū·šā·lim מִפְּנֵ֣י because of mip·pə·nê שִׁישָׁ֑ק Shishak , šî·šāq וַיֹּ֨אמֶר and he said to way·yō·mer לָהֶ֜ם them , lā·hem כֹּה־ “ This is what kōh-
